posted a message on A small addition to clocks
    Hello again.

I was thinking about a small new functionality for clocks, and it's to show current, and maybe even upcoming, rain status (none, raining or thundering). You would say, "why? Can't you see the sky?", think that you are mining, unable to see it, unless there's lightning you can't know the climate.

Additionally, clocks and compasses shall be visible as an icon on the screen, regardless if they're or not in the main bar. May be too OP althrough.

As for ways to obtain those, as well as moss cobble or stonebricks, I vote for moss expanding while the blocks are underwater, or cracking if not near mossy blocks. Maybe other blocks should also deteriorate, like logs, clay bricks, maybe even fences.

    Hi.

Since 1.8, cookies are useless restoring only half of an icon. I suggest to make them instantly edible, maybe also limiting them to being stackable to 16 if that's too OP. It's a pretty mechanic and fits well for them.

I suggest to use the same approach than spider eyes, zombie rare drops (?) or XP orbs, have iron only drop if killed by the player, using traps for weakening can be balanced by also making ingots drop proportionally to the damage dealt by you (harder) or easier, only dropping if your dealt 90% or more of the damage.

Well, it would be basically bone meal for mushrooms, except that I was planning additionally to disable self-grow for them, or maybe only for 'flesh meal-ed' ones. Or maybe one would need to use the meal on dirt blocks to make them able for mushrooms to grow into.

Since rotten meat is going to be added, and there is still discusion about mushroom spread being too slow or too 'invasive', I've got an idea. Mushrooms, as most fungi, grow over decaying meat, right? Then why don't make rotten flesh, when dropper near a mushroom, make it reproduce over it when the item would despawn? If it's too complicated, maybe the player should be able to turn them into another item, which can be right-clicked on the shroom to make it reproduce (having this assigned to the rotten flesh would be dangerous, as a mis-click would make you eat it instead!). What do you think?

posted a message on Methods of payment?
    Hi.

I would like to buy Minecraft, but I'm another one which doesn't have Credit/Debit cards and no bank account. And I don't think that there are prepaid accounts here in Argentina. Is there any way to pay the game like any bill (eg an A4 paper with some random numbers and a barcode) or maybe even a more traditional retail version, which is easier to use and safer than paypal.

In addition, while 20 dollars seems cheap for you, here it's AR$80, without any import and local fees. Maybe a discount for developing countries may be helpful.

Oh, and battle.net offers a 'bill' option to pay the game (via dineromail.com ) - it would be great if minecraft can be paid similarly.

EDIT: I missed the alpha offer because of this issue.

Would beta creative finish with classic? If so, it's going to be terrible for people who can't pay for the 'full' version.

On topic, I would also like to see mobs in classic mode. Why? If mob grinders are going to be disengaged on survival, creative should cover this way of monster killing, as well as PvP traps.

1st, it may be 20 dollars only, but remember not all the world uses dollars as currency, here in Argentina the conversion is around 1 dollar = 4,10 AR$, so your 20 bucks are 80 for me, which is more questionable.

2nd, AFAIK, paypal functions limitedly here and almost nobody uses it, dineromail.com works better.

3rd, there are no prepaid cards at sale in my country AFAIK, which means harder access to payment options.

That makes p(l)aying this game a oddisey, which means more piracy and a bad country image.

I also can't buy the game because of not having access to a credit card, and green dot only works inside USA. Is there any prepaid card that works in Argentina? Or at least some way of paying the game at bill paying houses/shops.

The main problem is, why are you forced to use paypal and not given an alternative like good old retail? In my country there are no prepaid cards, plus not everybody has comprensive fathers that understand how paypal works, and minecraft is a kids game, so having to be locked by a combo of age, fathers and a monopolized payment system only engages piracy.

And I don't like paypal's politics, specially since what they've done to wikileaks' creator (forgot his name).

posted a message on Cracking down on Piracy
I'll be honest, I pirated it, but with just reasons:

    1. Paypal doesn't offer me prepaid payment methods, at least on my country.
    2. There's no other way of payment, not even retail.
    3. While 15 euros may seem cheap-y, in my local currency the conversion makes it more than the quintuple, which means a bigger part of a salary.
    4. I'm more of a casual gamer, generally to taste new features and inspiration.
    5. Classic mode almost satisfies me, but might be nice to see some new content added, not precisely redstone or minecarts, but blocks like sandstone, diamond blocks, and such decorative stuff.

Speaking of classic, will notch remove it sometime? If so, it'd be cool to see some free replacement. Manic digger perhaps?

Two computers on the same network connected to each other is basically the same as two computers connected over the internet +ping. You don't need to "add System link" thats for shitty consoles that have outdated software and networking.

Except that LAN games are almost immune to lag. Why do you have to connect through a slow to regular internet connection when you can do all over a vastly superior LAN connection?

    About splitscreen, forget it.

EDIT: This may be just YAPIP (Yet Another Piracy Intentional Post)

Well, it's stupid to having to connect to the internet just to play a LAN game that's meant to not be connected to the internet.
At least you don't have to use internet for single player, like some other games made by big studios...
