    posted a message on Need Help making a fairly simple mod, and understanding it

    The mod would need to send data to he server somehow, in order for another player to receive the friend request. Or it could automatically trigger whatever command is used to send the friend request. As for recognizing the target player, that could probably be done with an event handler easily.

    posted a message on Armor Model Shows in Eclipse, but not in Actual Minecraft

    It seems to be missing the function that tells it what texture to give the model, so how does it even work in Eclipse?

    posted a message on Need Help making a fairly simple mod, and understanding it

    So you want to create a mod that allows people to have friend requests automatically sent to whoever defeats them in PvP. :rolleyes:

    It looks like this would need to be a client mod (but not necessarily a hack), as servers like Hypixel are vanilla servers. I have never made a mod of that type before, but forge is probably able to do client stuff like that.

    This looks like a great vanilla expansion mod! There are others out there, but this one is currently the only one I know of that adds new mobs.

    posted a message on [WIP] [BETA 1.7.3] BetaEnhanced/Mellow v0.3.1a - Skinfix, FOV, Resourcepacks and More!

    This looks like a good mod. I have seen that many people still enjoy playing Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 with some mods similar to this one installed. ^_^

    posted a message on Old mods and servers

    From what I have seen, Beta 1.7.3 seems to have been a popular version to mod (the equivalent of 1.7.10). I think the mods Industrial Craft and, Build Craft were first released for that version of Minecraft. There is also that old Zepplin Mod, which lets you build flying structures out of blocks, and some old dimensional mods like the Aether mod, Moon mod, Mars mod, and I think the Twilight Forest mod too.

    Ok, I have never modded Minecraft 1.2.5 ( I started with 1.7.2), so I do not know what you mean by easier. But I guess you have a point.

    Interesting mod. I am curious, why Minecraft 1.2.5, and not one of the latest versions?

    posted a message on Special Seashells Mod [IDEA/SUGGESTION]

    This sounds like a cool idea for a mod. It also seems like it would be very easy for someone to create. There are a few programs out there that allow you to make block .json models easily. One example is Mr. Crayfish's Model Creator.

    posted a message on Is their anyway to change things about a player using a Player.dat file that's not theirs, or their not using.

    I do not know if forge has the ability to edit files, but you could probably do this using some classes that come with java.

    posted a message on block xp and block random

    If you would like your block to do something when broken (such as dropping random loot), you could put the following function in your block's class, and write the random item dropping code inside it.

        public void dropBlockAsItemWithChance(World worldIn, BlockPos pos, IBlockState state, float chance, int fortune)
        {
               //Put stuff here.
        }

    posted a message on Wanting to update from 1.7.10 to 1.10.?

    Quite a bit has changed in Minecraft's code after 1.7.10. For instance, starting with 1.8, all items and blocks must now have .json model files for them. Another notable change, is that at some point after 1.8.9, the names of resource files can not contain any capital letters, or else they will not load.

    As you might expect, there are countless smaller changes as well.

    posted a message on Need help with items in reference class

    I am not completely sure what you are trying to do here. There are much simpler ways to register and reference things like items and blocks.

    For example, before all of the functions in your mod's main class, put:

    public static Item <Your item's name>;

    And then put the following in the preInit function:

    <Your item's name> = new <Your item's class>().setCreativeTab(<A creative tab>).setUnlocalizedName("<Your item's name>"); registerItem(<Your item's name>, "<Your item's name>");

    A function like this can make registering items easier:

        public Item registerItem(Item item, String name)
        {
            item.setUnlocalizedName(name);
            GameRegistry.register(item, new ResourceLocation(<Your mod's ID>, name));
            return item;
        }

    Blocks can also be registered in a similar way. There are plenty of tutorials out there for these kinds of things! :D

    posted a message on Moon Mod Renewal

    I has come to my attention, that in less than two years, this mod has got (quite literally), OVER 9000 DOWNLOADS! :lol:

    Thanks everyone!

    Currently, I am working on a new project called The Space Age Mod, and I hope it also becomes a great success. If you really like this mod, then don't worry about me moving on to this new project, because it also adds the Moon, with most of the features that this mod does!

    posted a message on Single Player Modding Help

    Using the latest version (1.11.2) might be a good idea. As for mods, if you like playing on survival mode the most and want the game to be more challenging, there is one called "The Epic Seige Mod" which makes all of the game's hostile mobs much more intelligent, powerful, and hard to avoid. There are also mods that add climate and that overhaul the food system. As for creative gameplay, there are plenty of mods out there that can help you build cool things.
