The option isn't available to me; because it isn't an executable (Although it is an executable .jar). I however, am using an administrative account; and have all priviliges...at least to my knowledge.
I'm going to boot into my Windows XP partition that I always keep as a back up on my computer. I will see if I can possibly run it there; so I know wether the .jar from Minecraft.com is corrupted or if my computer is screwed up (Although I think it is more likely my computer is screwed up.)
After some googling it seems it is a problem with my Java path file. Which I had to set manually. I'll see if I did it wrong.
Okay. I downloaded 'Jarfix' which was supposed to fix all path errors; however, it still doesn't seem to be working. My path file is correct; as I did check it. Could it possibly be a problem with Java 7?
Did you try running this new minecraft_server.jar in a brand new folder? If you ran this in your old folder, it's likely that it is getting confused with your Bukkit installation. Create a new folder, and start up the vanilla server, and go ahead and post us the error log: (if you have one)
This is in a completely new folder; completely seperate from the Bukkit folder.\
Okay...So, this is really weird. I have been hosting a Bukkit server for me and my friend for awhile. However, I decided I was going to try my hand at making a Mo' Creatures server. Long story short; I downloaded the Minecraft_Server.jar and BEFORE EVEN MODDING IT I decided I would open it to make sure it is working properly. THIS WAS A VANILLA MINECRAFT.JAR. I have also downloaded it multiple times...
Anyway, I open it and this is what happens (It is an unmodded Jar):

Maybe try forwarding the "official" port of Minecraft, 25565.
Check if the new router has a built-in firewall that's silently blocking things.
Check that the old router is not in use any more.
Start your server and test the port you forwarded with canyouseeme.org.
I have tried the official port, 25565. Still no luck. I have also tried 25566, 25567, which are ports I have used in the past. I decided to try the random '8909'; to see if it would help.
The new router does have a built in firewall. I disabled it however; still no luck.
Old router is not in use anymore. It isn't even plugged in.
I will start my server and test it with that site and get back to you, thanks for the suggestions and help!
EDIT: Well everyone, haha, no idea what did it; but it is working now.
Hello everyone. Before you go off an decide I don't know what I'm doing; let me assure you, I have successfully run numerous servers in the past; all with no problem port-forwarding. I recently got a new router (ASUS RT-N66U) and well, I have been having some issues...I am doing everything the manual says to do; as well as following online tutorials. The dang ports just won't open, any help would be greatly appreciated: (Sorry for the wierd images; I have dual monitors)
A map (at least on PC version) is infinite and it will generate new chunks (or re-load ones you have already been to) when you walk near them. So, yes, you can find at least one abandoned mineshaft on any Minecraft map; it just is a matter of chance.
Not sure if I am ENTIRELY ready to take on another Let's Play; as the last one ended in disaster because my friends lost interest. And, in all honesty, you should get friends who you know in real life to join you; but here is my 'resume':
how old are you: 16
do you have a server: Yup.
do you know how to make one: Yeah. However, I won't be doing the editing this time around...I made a Let's Play before; friends flaked out on me, but I know how to do it.
at what times can you start playing: Eh, Weekends.
do you have skype: Yeah.
can you mail me a copy of the skype files (im having trouble getting skype and i need help): Uh, dude, just download it. http://www.skype.com/en/

Other than the Windows Firewall; no I don't have an anti-virus...though I need to get one.
The server; right now, is on my desktop (C:/Users/[Name]/Desktop).

However, may I recommend, buying Minecraft? I have a feeling this 'bug' is a result of you having a cracked version (not hating; just stating).
But, ya' know. YAR HAR DIDDLY DEEE BEING A PIRATE IS ALRIGHT WITH MEEE! >_<
