In what way don;t you like it?
As I said in the post I tried once and failed miserably and now I am trying again.
The terrain.png is only about a quarter of the way through so...

Mostly the wood bugs me; it tiles strange. I like the stone/coal ore.

Yes, it does resemble Soartex; which, by the way, is one of my favorite texture packs of all time. However, this is really nice, regardless if it looks similar, I see no problem in someone drawing inspiration from a great pack.

Yeah dude; this isn't 'legal' under copyright law, at least from the knowledge I have (I ain't no attorney). Nonetheless, you AT LEAST need the original artist (Vattic)'s permission to do this; which I'm sure you don't have.

Looks nice; the blocks are a bit noisy though...I have a feeling it could hurt my eyes after a while. Good start though, definitely.

How much are you willing to spend? (This would be better in off-topic hardware discussion and support, you could request a moderator to move it for you) for a lower price go with an AMD CPU. As the 6-core CPUs they have are barely any more expensive than the quad cores they would probably be a good idea. as for RAM, 4 GB should be enough, but if you're a tad paranoid like me ( :P ) then go for 8, but either way it's good to have a motherboard that can be upgraded just in case you ever find that your latest game/whatever wants more RAM. I think a 7850 graphics card (such as this) should be fine for what you want, but as I mentioned, the people in the hardware discussion and support subforum will have a better idea about the GPU and about various other parts such as the motherboard.

I am willing to spend a good amount; as I really have no other bills :P thanks for the info. I will also certainly look into the Fusion Yogsblast; as previously mentioned.

No Alienware! VERY overpriced, and I heard they overheat a lot. Building gives you a fun experience, more power, and its cheaper. You should come back when you actually have the money since prices change a lot.

Yeah, I will...I just want to figure out kinda what I intend to get so I can look it all up etc.

Hi everyone. So, in the next few months I will be getting a job (part time). I will make probably a minimum of $400 a month; which excites me (First job [I'm 16]). Anyway, I was thinking of saving up for a couple months and getting an Alienware, or building my own computer. What would you recommend? What model of an Alienware? I wanna be able to run Minecraft; but also like Red Dead Redemption, GTA, and maybe Skyrim...you know.

    Anyway, thanks!

To add photos you need to take screenshots in Minecraft (F2) etc, and then upload the photos to an image hosting site; like Photobucket, Flickr, etc. Then, click on the image, get the link of the image, and click the "Image" icon in the toolbar when writing a forum topic/response/editing/etc. Then post the link there and hit 'OK'.

samohtj pretty much did it much better than I did. Haha.

Batch files are powerful, in the event that you need to tell a program what to run, and how to run it!
Note: The two lines Xmx2048M and Xms2048M control how much RAM you are allocating to the server. Currently, you are using 2048Mb of Ram, and you can change this to your preference (2Gb should be fine, unless you plan on hosting a larger server)

Yeah, I plan on a max of 5 people. So, I think 2 Gb should be fine; just a small server for me and my friends.

Have you tried making a batch file that points to your java installation that launches the server.jar?
Your batch file might look like:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java" -Xms2048M -Xmx2048M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui
    pause

Note: replace "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java" with the path your java executable is located. the quotes are important!

Place the batch file in the same folder your server is running from, and check to see if anything changes. This might solve your java path issue

Edit: this will launch the server without a GUI.. It will look similar to what you saw before, but the program will run within a Command Prompt Shell. Commands and other behavior should be the same.

    Hahahaha! That did it! Huzzah!

Thanks for all your help Mikko_Blu and CptSpaceToaster!

Re-installed. Didn't make a difference. Bukkit.jar still runs fine...This is really confusing me.

Okay. Well, I entered my Windows XP partition on my Windows 7. Found the server files. And attempted to launch it. It still has the issue; even though all the files are generated. Based on what I have seen on the little bit of Google results that came up with the same issue; it seems to be on Java's end...for some reason it is installed incorrectly and can't launch Jars. I suppose I should try to re-install it (Although I have absolutely no problem running the craftbukkit.jar)?

I'm not sure how well it will run in XP, but it is worth a shot. It seems like it's having trouble making files since something is blocking it

Yeah. I am on Windows XP now; downloaded the Server.jar and it is running great...generated with no problem. Perhaps I can put the now generated files on a flash drive and carry them over to my Windows 7 partition...
