Hey, my minecraft client is crashing while playing SMP due to some bug with the distribution pipes. There's normally no error output through the client, but running in terminal shows this:
java.lang.NullPointerException

More details: My specific instance has distro pipes running into another (specifically 8 in an array []). They work without crashing up until I change the color values in the GUI (e.g. I want 7 out green instead of 1). After that change, one of the next few blocks through will cause the pipe to disappear, then the client crashes with the above error. The only other information I've found is in the Google Code page for Zeldo's mod. Also, the server continues to run fine, only my client and and the clients of any nearby players (perhaps who have the chunk loaded?) are affected. The blocks themselves traveling through the pipes also seem to get to their destination. Finally, I've been unable to reproduce this so far for stand-alone distro pipes; I've only had the crash when they're connected in array, although in the GC page one person linked a video where the distro pipes aren't in a direct array.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Edit:
Also, if you'd let me look at the source for your release, I could work on fixing it too.
Sorry to nitpick, but someone who uses another's program to cheat at a game is not a hacker, they are just a cheater.
The 'Hacker' in this case could be the person who MADE the program I guess
Not to be a hacker/cracker nazi, but a hacker is someone who compromises a security system, usually an account but it could be a database or a computer, anything with security :tongue.gif: A cracker is someone who modifies something for benefit usually. So in this case, the person who made the files would be a cracker. /rant
Good points, but this is not necessarily true. A hacker is more generally referred to one who is quite intelligent and is able to come up with clever solutions to difficult problems. This definition doesn't even need to apply to technology. However, in the computer world, hackers can be broken up into white, grey, and black hat hackers with the black hats commonly referred to as crackers. I would call the person who made this a cracker, rather, using the generic term for a hack and hacker is how I would dub this. Of course, everybody has their own ideas and opinions; their own connotations and denotations. Except the media and idiots. They don't count.
What happened to the whole "You need at least X post counts before you can apply". I'm pretty sure this rule was instated at some point. It seems to me it would cut down many griefer types. Those people who positively contribute on the forums seem to be the people who will contribute on the server.

I'll also be more than happy to moderate once it gets started, that is, if you'll have me.
