    How ever long it takes.

Unanswered support ticket =\= end of world

At any point have my posts indicated that my world will end if I don't get an answer? Let me answer for you. No, they haven't.

It's pointless having this discussion with you. You can't do anything about my ticket. Only the admins can and they refuse to do so. That said, I wouldn't be offended if you just stopped responding in this thread, msmit71.

It's just a figure of speach. Perhaps I should have said "It's not that big of a deal." I guess I'll stop posting then.

And what is "reasonable time" to you?

Reasonable time for what? A ticket?

They don't mean anything. They are just silly symbols you can put there when you go to make a post.

That's not what I meant. There is a symbol thing next to EVERY post and either they are moving and red, stay in place while red or blue, or stay in place in red with a star on it. They have something to do with reading a topic, but I'm not sure what each one means.

    Here is what I mean.

OIC. Sorry, Not thinking very well :3 the above user is correct. Gray means there are no unread posts, red means there are unread posts. Not too sure what the scrolling does.

So I pretty much screwed myself over? D: Oh well, too late now, I guess. But you mentioned posting by "the spirits of the rules, not by the letters". Got any tips other than generally being nice?

    Lolno, You're fine.

#1 Tip from me: Have patience, even if someone makes you mad, keep your cool and stay rational and in control.
#2 Tip from me: Be nice, helpful, and contributive. (Simple)
#3 Tip from me: Make good reports. If a report needs context to be delt with properly, add it.

[sarcasm] Oh yes, we should not rely on our users. That makes sense. Instead we should comb through several thousand posts a day manually to look for abusive posts. That's an incrediblt time effective way to adress problems! [/sarcasm]

Seriously, even if we added 10 new moderators, Beta Survival still gets too many posts per day to be moderated in such a way, you see that, right?

No, the ticket system is not up for "show". I'm just saying that if you have an urgent problem or want to discuss specific threads (which is what I was talking about in other threads) it's the best way because of fast response and easy back and forth communication.

    What was the ticket about?

It was about biased mods...or at least inconsistant. I was banned for something that was done at least 5 times in the same thread and no one else was even warned. I want the situation investigated and at least some of my warning level removed.

Sadly the admins simply ignore all tickets. I'm pretty confident saying this due to the large number of posts on the support site (and on these forums) saying the exact same thing. Again, if you have a support site it should work. Otherwise simply take it down and stop pretending there is some kind of process in place. It's clear there is no process.

You got caught because you got reported. We simply don't have time to read through every thread a reported post is in. You could have reported all of the other posts and they would have also been warned. If you did, and think that they we'ren't delt with correctly, I'd suggest pinging a moderator or admin in IRC. Our channel is #minecraftforums on irc.esper.net
Fastest way to get in contact with us.

As many people as this site has, 99.99% of them aren't the type of people we want as Administrative staff. We can't just pick random people and throw them in as staff. It doesn't work that way. We have a shortage of sensible, mature people.

The support forum is supposed to not only be for complaints about bans and warnings, but also complaints about individual moderators. As I said above, the staff admins aren't supposed to be the busiest people modrating, they are supposed to be working on these complaints, but they can't.

If this analogy makes sense, you don't make your police officers your judges. We can make arrests and bans, but it's not our job to review complaints about bans and moderators.

KarkasmolenKlok, I don't think you understand. The support site is not for moderators, not for volunteers, not even for admins. It is for the Administrative staff of this website, and them alone. With the administrative staff busy working with Curse on the new boards, having to work on moderating (due to certain problems with PHPBB) and real life, it may take a while for your ticket to be looked at. You can always contact an admin quickly over IRC.

    We apologize for the problems.

You act like we enjoy the problems that we have. We don't.

This is my job, beyond wanting to create a good community my livelihood depends on this forum being the best it can be, if this forum sucks my job, pay and life sucks, we take on board all criticism and suggestions and many are considered/implemented.

We don't take joy in the problems the forum has, they make our lives harder and they make the community worse. I won't harp on about the upcoming changes with IPB, but we honestly believe that it will improve the forum greatly. I won't make public bets, but every decision made here is betting my future on it and I don't take that lightly.

I think communication is definitely something we can improve, when we get the position where my job is not doing moderator tasks that moderators assign to me because the software won't let them do it, I think I will have more time to talk with users and get problems/feedback the attention it deserves.

I don't think that we are biased towards flaming of Notch/Mojang, it just tends to create a lot of trouble, which leads to a lot of warnings/bans and thus appears to be biased.

That being said, If you think a report has been closed wrongfully or want to bring a certain post/thread to our notice, I'd suggest contacting us in IRC. That way we can answer you in seconds, not 30+ minutes. You can ping us in #minecraftforums on irc.esper.net that's probably the quickest way to get a reply
    :smile.gif:

As said before, Goldboo had five other warnings, prior to his activity on the MLP thread. He had several other flaming posts in the MLP thread on top of the one you link to. Due to his history of flaming and other serious misbehaviors, we decided to ban him.

Godlboo was flaming a lot in that thread, not only in that post. IMO that post is flamming, along with a few other he made in that thread. Plus, that was his sixth warning. You would think they would learn after five times.
