I need help from modders. Not to mod anything, but just for a piece of advice.
Should I learn Java BEFORE getting into minecraft mod development with Java?
Or can I just jump right into java with all of minecraft's API's and be fine?
I am experienced with about half a dozen languages, but none of them are OOP.
Learn Java! It might not be the fastest way to do things, but there is no modmaker nor will there ever be that allows you to make custom energy, or even simple machines. Java is the way to go.
Thank you! It was exactly what I was looking for, except I have two questions. Will we be able to transfer our world files to this host? And also, is "Personal" Bukkit with unlimited plugins? If not, how many is the limit?
So, me and my friend are making a survival world, but the bad thing about it is that its only up when he decides to run it, leaving me constantly messaging him in skype trying to get him to run the server.
I need a cheap minecraft server host that will run a server with 2 to 3 people on it without a major change in lag, and 100% uptime (Does not have to be 100, just enough so I can go on it almost whenever I want) and also the ability to transfer our already made server files to it. Any help?
Hello! I made an amazing paintball map, and now I need to add in the redstone for it. Is there any way to check if a player has been hit by an arrow or hit by a snowball? If not, could someone tell me what mechanic I could use to make paintball in vanilla minecraft?
This has already been done...
Tnt Run started as a singleplayer game.
Also, very buggy and too easy.
If you walk around, it will only remove the block under you ever 5 blocks.
And that could easily be fixed.
You start in creative mode, and to actually play you have to change your gamemode to adventure, click play, go to the clock that removes the block under you and re start it because it has overclocked and stopped itself, then click play AGAIN,
go back into creative, fly down to the court because it doesn't tp you, and then you can actually start the really easy and buggy game.
I was wondering if there was a way to execute a command towards all entities except for one.
So say I want to kill every entity except for players.
Is there any way to do this without having to go [type=Creeper] [type=Skeleton], etc.
So, recently, Captainsparklez and Generikb did a redstone war where they each made a mech with different functions. This inspired me to make my own one, except without a time limit.
I added some functions and made a pretty cool robot, but I am out of ideas.
I need ideas for stuff my mech could do.
Current functions:
Open/Close door
Flare
Eject
Machine gun (Fire charges)
Tnt cannon
Homing missile
Shield
Any help?
If you need more information, feel free to tell me!
When the mech is done, any contributors get a world download!
So, with the recent updates Mojang has replaced number id's with names.
This is all find and dandy and I love it, but why not do it for potions?
I hate having to look up potion effect ids when making an adventure map, so why can't it be something like
effect @p jump_boost 10 10
Just an idea, post how you feel about it down below!
Hello! I am here with a forum game for you today. The title is:
Yay or Nay
And here is the game:
At the bottom of your post you write Yay (Yes) or Nay (No)
At the top of your post, you write what the person above you was saying yay or nay to, but it must relate to the one above you
For ex:
Electing the cookie monster as president
Yay
reply:
Giving the cookie monster permission to fire missiles at the north pole
Nay

I got up to 3000, but I didn't get it on screenshot
Anyways, is this good with all max settings?
