it's really more of an 'effect' rather than an item.. if you didn't know it makes creepers explode with a much bigger explosion, and I'm not sure if other mobs get it or not
I do know what it does, but I haven't seen it in person yet. Is the effect animated at all, or is just a static image?
I kind of assumed it wasn't spawnable, but I keep remembering a tweet from one of the devs about it being an actual piece of armor, since a while ago the made all (or most) mobs able to wear armor.
This was not a post to inform, it was to ask a question. I agree we already knew about the armor, I just want to know what the data values are since I can't seem to find them on my own.
I have been googling this for a while, but no result.
The new effect for creepers that get hit by lightning is a special armor that is used on them, correct? I swear I saw Jeb or Notch tweet something about that, but I couldn't find it again.
If it is indeed a special type of armor and not some other kind of graphical effect, shouldn't it be a spawn-able item with /give commands or inventory editors? If this is the case, does anyone know, or can they find out, the item IDs so I can spawn it on my server?
1. Update happens!
2. If needed, run far away from current base to generate new parts of the map
3. Play with new features!
4.Build a new base
5. Run out of things to do, wait until new update
As many of you have been doing, I have been looking at lots of seeds, and I figured I should share my favorite one, Delilah. I learned about it from CrazyGamer6 in this thread http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1031&t=193978 Overall, its a really mountainous world, lots of large trees and wide expanses of water.
Lets get to the pics! (Coordinates in spoilers. Those shots look ugly)
You seem to spawn near this beach. My first set of pics goes towards this awesome tree you can see from spawn.
Close up of that tree. Pretty weird.
From that tree, you should be able to see this mountain. Get to the top!
This mountain/plateau should be named Delilah's Ring. Its a high circular hollow plateau with a lava fall in the middle.
Another angle of this sweet place. You can see the original sweet tree in the upper right background.
A view from the bottom of the Ring.
Also: there is a VERY deep cave entrance shaft (straight down) right at the base of the lava fall. Didn't get a pic.
The center of the Ring.
The outside of one of the sea-level entrances to the Ring.
Now, I die and go back to the spawn, and run the opposite direction towards different tall mountains.
The Eye:
The Snowy Tree:
I have never seen this before. Its a pillar in the center of a C shaped plateau. On the top of the pillar are a couple of large trees covered in snow.
Kinda hard to get a pic that shows how neat this pillar is. Did Notch add snow to the top of really tall areas?
Looking away from the pillar, you can see the foot of the C shaped plateau. Caves and lakes.
There you go. The only seed I have seen that actually makes me want to start a 2nd world. Enjoy.
I use cactus in my mob trap. Its a similar idea with the water and lava, and chickens get through. Just place a couple of sand on the edges with cactus on top. Eventually, the chickens will run into them enough and go away.
When I get bored with where I am, I start a new base in a new biome, connected via nether portals. Thats not too odd. The odd part is that I always start from scratch at the new base. I don't allow myself to use any resources gained from other areas/bases, until I am able to build my portal at the new base. Its kinda like my own mini prime directive: don't interfere with a base that doesn't have portal technology yet.
I guess this wouldn't be in game, but more in the menus. I wish there was an easy (automatic) way of making an animated .gif of my progress.
Go in the game, press a hotkey, then go to the menu, and it would have options for how frequent the pics would be taken from that exact perspective. At some point, those images would be put together into an animated .gif for you to share. Spore has it for creature creation, and its really cool to watch.
Why not just jump in a portal, walk really far, make another portal, and start fresh from there? Try starting in a new biome. After a while, you will have two awesome bases in the same save. Thats what I did after I got tired of my original area.

This made me laugh so hard. Thanks for making my crappy day end better.
