My schedule is on and off, so I cannot guarantee that I will be on the server at particular times, or work on it a certain number of hours. Real life activities take priority, and it is a volunteer position. Thus, my time developing for Arxium will be in my free time.

I find this sort of volunteer work educational. Though I don't receive a certificate, or any benefit of any kind really, I learn things about programming and networking, topics I am particularly interested in, that I didn't have previous knowledge of. Furthermore, with this opportunity, I am able to apply theoretical knowledge to an actual production server. This turns into a mutual win-win situation for both me and the server.

Back in June 2012, I became the head admin of a small server (the banner is still in my signature) that had just gone public. At that time, I had barely any experience, and was not very proficient in Java programming. However, the owner, my friend, taught me many things about server administration and I quickly picked it up myself. When he became bored of Minecraft around the end of that year, I took over creative control of the server (which is still in my signature) and managed everything. Because of this, I have experience with a vast set of plugins, from PlotMe to Factions to Essentials to writing my own. I saw how each MC update would cripple the server's plugins, and quickly compensated by strategically updating the plugins where necessary.
About two years ago, the hosting provider decided to increase prices, so we switched to another host which had an extra feature of being able to connect to the server via SSH. This opened up numerous possibilities for manual configuration, as the SSH connection allowed me root access to a VPS running CentOS. I installed nginx and mySQL to complement the Minecraft server. However, at this point, due to the IP change and lack of domain name, we developed financial problems. It took time to restore the server to its original traffic level, and there was still the question of "What does this server mean? What's the point?" that I could not answer because of the shadow left by the previous owner.
I continued as owner / head admin of that server until late spring 2014, when I found myself frustrated with administrating an empty server that would once in a while attract a few griefers, if anyone. So in retrospect, I hated everything to do with admin work - banning people, undoing griefing, trying to increase server population - and relished every moment of non-mundane technology work.
Thus, I gave the server to the more charismatic admin, who promptly changed everything to his name and encountered server errors he could not escape from, leaving the server offline for over 6 months. Currently, I am sporadically helping him get the server back up as a "3.0", but he does not want me to do too much so he can learn server administration.
And that brings me here. I have about two years of server management and administration experience, complete with configuring, installing, writing, anything to do with plugins, using Bukkit and Spigot, some experience with BungeeCord, and a decent bit of experience with Linux.
I have this perpetual Curse Premium membership because I got ~1500 downloads on one of my plugins back in 1.5 when hoppers were released and chest locking plugins didn't account for them.
... If you really need a list of plugins, I can provide that later, but it would be boring to include a list like that in an application.
I also have a decent knowledge of using Linux - I started using Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron?" when I started programming about 9 years ago. I currently dual-boot Windows 7 and Arch Linux. I've been playing Minecraft (but not playing, really, just chatting ingame for the most part) for more than 3 years.
I also have many non-minecraft-related skills, such as playing music, but that doesn't really apply here. Guessing which kind of music I like based on my avatar and location shouldn't be too hard.
Finally, working with a development team would be fun. But if I'm solo, that's fine too.

Usually takes me about a week to settle in and then I will be up to speed with everyone else that is more known by the community.

Player tells me someone's hacking:
I would ask for proof and I would also once again talk to them on Skype If they have Skype and Check if that person was using a hacked client. The proof I would ask for would be screenshots of the problem and if the player was hacking and I have proof of it I would ask for a higher member of staff to ban him and I would also give the proof (screen shots and chat) to the staff member.? I would also ask for the to say .help because most hacks use that command.
A player is spamming in chat, how do you react?:
I would kick him saying 1st warning with a mute and If he continues I myself don't like spammers spamming the chat It's just a stupid and immature thing to do.?
A player is continuously being disrespectful to staff members, including yourself. How do you handle the situation?:
I would handle the situation by asking what's the matter and ask him why are you being so rude and disrespectful to the staff and try and settle the situation. If he carries on being rude and disrespectful I would have to mute him and if he keeps being disrespectful I would ask higher member of staff to ban him I would tell the staff why I want him to be banned?.

Hello Everyone! I am moonman58 and I own and operate a new and soon released server called Arxium. While we have plans to become a network in the future, we decided to start off small and build up depending on player demand.
Who are we?
Now you may be wondering, what is Arxium going to be based on? Arxium is a custom server. We have created a Gamemode called Empires and hope it meets the publics expectations. Empires is a Towny/Factions type of gamemode where the players shape there own city and choose their city's class. Available class' are Military, Trade, Farming, and Economic. They all fit together to keep their own economys' strong but each one has its weakness. For example, Military lacks in farming. I won't get into to much detail but there will shortly be a description up on our forums (www.arxium.net/forums) if you would like to check it out.
Who are we looking for?
We have recently fired many staff due to there inactivity and immaturity. We need new staff to take there place and help us launch in the coming weeks.
