@Chronicler In response to your comment about the shield:

There actually is a shield on the on top of the first fortress that you missed.

That probably would've helped you in the fortress you were having trouble on, although you were still able to beat it alright.

Also as a general note: I added new signatures to the main post if any fans of the series are interested. Let me know how they look/suggestions for new ones or changes.

Nice episode! The difficulty doesn't seem to be too much for you yet. I know Akitori had trouble in the first area but that was on hard.

Later Night Gamer also released a video of Darkness Descending today, which I believe was the first of my maps you played. He got through it slightly faster than you.

Looking forward to more episodes of Horizon's Edge!

posted a message on Should Multi-layered snow be added as a naturally occuring block?

I could see natural multi layered snow working best along with some sort of implementation of seasons, so that instead of snow just clearing with clear weather it would start to clear once spring came. If they already have it naturally occurring in PE I don't see any harm in adding it to the PC version. Does anyone know if it happens in the Windows 10 version? I don't know how similar it is to PE

    Hey Akitori,

So it is a bit of a bug in multiplayer. When making the mechanic, I made it for singleplayer and when you have no strength upgrade it gives mobs resistance. In multiplayer though, it gives the effect to players as well. That would make a really interesting mechanic to expand upon in another map, but in Horizon's Edge it's unintentional.

@Arixes, I must have missed your stream, hopefully I can catch it next time

Just added my latest minimap: Horizon's Edge! It should be less difficult than Armageddon but still a fun and challenging map! Enjoy, and let me know how you enjoy the map!

posted a message on Strawberry Jam V3 - A CTM Map Building Jam! Jam #17 over - check out the maps!

I went ahead and made some renders of my jam map:

I also had a chance to fly through the other maps.

    Tomb Exploration CTM:

I played through but I think the combat area is broken. I killed everything and didn't get the last objective.
Other than that, I'd recommend practicing more with your tools and playing more maps to get a better feel for how they should play. It is always good to see new participants in the jam though, so I hope to see another map from you in the next one!

    Stolen Souls

Flying through it seemed like there were a lot of mobs, but it may play differently and I also think you mentioned you were changing spawners in the discord chat. I liked a lot of your aesthetics though, especially your interiors, and I also like what you did with the objectives.

    Return to Brown Corp

I'm impressed with how large the map is considering the time frame. I also really liked the monument area and the ssecond area with all of the water and earth bridges. I think you could give out a pick a little earlier though since I got to a sign that said dig before I even had a pick. It also seemed like there was a really short delay on some of the spawners, but I could be wrong. Overall (keeping in mind I flew through most of it) I liked the look and feel of the map, and the parkour area was neat-o

I'm looking forward to seeing the submissions for waves 2 and 3!

In Horizon's Edge, you play as a stranded airship captain who must reclaim their ship and go on to collect the Treasure Crystals. Can you also find your lost crew?

    This map is for 1.10.

posted a message on [CTM] The Ultimate -CTM COMMUNITY- Thread

@TheMineMaster2 You're fine posting here, it is a CTM community thread, not a CTM builder thread. It just happens that those groups tend to overlap quite a bit.

As far as beating maps goes, have you tried playing any mini CTMs? I can understand enjoying playing large ones even if you don't beat them, but it is very satisfying to beat a map. Mini CTMs could be a good place to start. I'd take a look at Eventide Trance by three_two if you enjoy his style in VF. There are a lot of other maps that get made in the Strawberry Jam as well.

I'm enjoying your LP of the map! I'll have to make my next map just as good at killing players, because it sure is entertaining to watch.

Also, to everyone else: I have updated the map to reduce the lag. the results have varied by player but they range from getting rid of all the lag to getting rid of the majority of the lag, so I would consider that a success. Thanks to everyone who has tried out the map so far, and be sure to leave feedback if you enjoyed it! (Feel free to leave feedback if you didn't enjoy it, too)

First episode of my Armageddon LP will be up in about a week, but I'd like to share the second video to show you a lag issue in the map (v1.10). It's similar to the lag I've seen on LAN servers.

Could be as a result of how many mobs at a time are being given attributes by the command blocks triggering the "Heat levels rising", but not really sure.

Other than that, the map's a nice challenge.

You could be right about that being the cause. I think spacing out how often mobs are given the attributes could work to help reduce it. In the latest edition I did remove the Spark Summoners which a lot of people pointed to as the culprit for lag. It is difficult for me to test for lag short of running a VM.

If you have a lot of trouble in the last area, I would recommend trying out the new version and just going through and collecting around the amount of gear you had an reattempting. It was very unbalanced in the initial version.

I have to agree with Ty. The best themes have been the ones that are vague enough that you can get a lot of different types of maps but still force people to think about how to incorporate the theme. Countdown comes to mind as a really good theme that was done in the past.

Edit: I take it back, I've actually thought of some ideas for it. I suppose it isn't a terrible theme.

@Zunar I really enjoyed the speedrun. Under 40 minutes is really impressive.

Also, I've made some changes to Armageddon due to a few issues. The final area was made significantly easier, and the Spark Summoners were replaced due to possible lag issues. If you downloaded an older version of the map, I would recommend checking out the new version. It is still a difficult map, but it should no longer be quite so impossible.

Just updated the thread with my map from the 10th Strawberry Jam: Armageddon! If you've enjoyed my other maps and didn't see the jam thread then check it out. I will warn you it's a little harder than some of the other mini maps I've made. As always, feedback is welcome, and don't forget to post any videos here so I can add them to the main post
