I'm willing to bet that half the people that play minecraft can't run this mod when its released.
Infinite up and down could cause a lot of crashes on slower comps, and maybe even the faster ones. Maybe combined with optiminer this could work, but otherwise, even if you pull it off you might just succeed in causing a ridiculous amount of lag. and if this isn't compatible with modloader you're probably wasting your time lol. A lot of people won't use it if thats the case. Not to say nobody will, because some people will of course.
I can't wait, I've always been a fan of your guys' work individually, so as a team I think you're gonna breath life back into minecraft. Good job guys.
And then make my mob was invented and all of the good modders just /ragequit. This should be combined with makemyitem and makemyblock to form a giant makemymoddersangry mod. Why not just make tutorials, to weed out some of the identical mods? Anybody and everybody will pick this up, and all of their mods WILL be the same because they don't know how to code at all. At least with a tutorial they get into coding and try to learn more.
/rant.
i get the same error. been searching for it on internet. no luck =(
help us! ****
Being rude won't get you help, I don't gain from this thread at all, friend.
To everyone having issues, I'm sorry to say but I'm not really huge into the modding world anymore, this tutorial seems to be quite a bit behind the newest versions of modloader and spawnlist, both of which have changed quite a bit. The OP has been updated with all the fixes I know of, and if anyone comes forward with the answers people need I will update the OP with the fixes, but I can not and will not promise to keep up with modloader and spawnlist's every change, I simply don't have the time. Sorry.
It's not that bad, if you've ever coded in anything else. I started with C, then AS2, THEN java so I didn't have too many problems learning, apart from dropping some bad habits that just didn't fly with java. Even if you haven't ever coded with java tho, this tutorial was written under the assumption that the reader has no idea what I'm talking about, so if you follow it to dot you should be able to make your own mobs.
... I've never seen a java program that isn't free, try NetBeans. There's a lot of "for dummies" books out there for java as well, so maybe look into those. Java's website hosts a pretty comprehensive guide to java programming, if you understand at least a little bit about coding of any sort it's not too hard to follow. And if you look around this forum, you're bound to find a couple tutorials if you'd rather just jump in and learn as you go. Best of luck.
(PS. if you don't know anything about coding at all, learning C makes learning most other languages a lot easier, it's like learning the alphabet before you learn to write full words. It's certainly not necessary, but it helped me a lot.)
You're in everyone thoughts now, having developed the first major minecraft mod to be added to Minecraft itself. Three cheers!
Ayutashi for Tree Drops, back when it was missing! Round for all 47 of his mods. xD Seronis... for... Block IDs! Fire Hazurd! For your high quality monst/imals, even though you only made two. :sad.gif:
Doku deserves mention too! Thank you for paving the way for great RPG-style 32x32 textures!
Thanks to the texture enthusiasts who have added and expanded on them since then!
___________
Augh, I need to add more!
ChocolateySyrup, even though your avatar makes my insides squirm!
The guy that did CheffCraft! Lol, he's so unknown. Poor guy. XIE!
So I guess the guy that made sandstone doesn't count as the first one then? Or McRegion?
Anyways, Mr Okushama, Dr Zhark, Risugami, 303, Club559, Ogresean, Mr M(I actually tried better light for the first time the day before it got added to minecraft), and all the guys involved in making Minecraft Coder Pack, without whom most mods wouldn't exist.
EDIT:
Holy shitake mushrooms how could I forget Kodaichi?
Might be waiting a while for mods to update, atleast for MCP users, as a lot has changed with this update. Once MCP is back up, it only takes a couple minutes to update a mod, so just watch MCP for an update.
I believe i've worked out a way, but it wouldn't be compatible with modloader, or any other custom mobs(including Mr O's Humans+). I might tinker with it, if i decide it's worth the time lol. Maybe when our downloads go up.
Just to be clear it would require a clean jar file, with only this mod to be installed. If that is something everyone is interested in maybe me and Biohazard will look into it. No promises tho. Also I don't want to steal Mr Okushama's thunder so I will have to talk to him about releasing it first(even tho it's in no way based off however he's doing it.) Biohazard maybe you should but up a poll, see how many people are interested in it happening.

I also have this issue. I've been reading around and it looks like the mappings are out of date. Idk for sure though.
