Just wanted to say that the texture pack and the city of Rome are amazing, and the Colosseum (although incomplete as yet) is starting to give the feeling of grandeur that it once had.
Beta 1.3 breaks MCMap Live. An mcmap update is available but there are more changes than a simple drop in to make it work with Live. I am extraordinarily busy at the moment, so you can expect an update some time late next week.

It seems my smooth halfstones have disappeared????
I know that now if you place 3 cobble in a row you get a half a cobble, well doesn't that suck! half cobble is not as pretty as half stones that used to look smooth.
and any I had in my chests don't seem to be there any longer??????
Am I just having a very bad nightmare?

It appears the new update isn't compatible with macs older than 10.6. That really makes me angry seeing as i have to buy a new mac then.
How old is your computer?
I'm on a 4 year old Mac Pro, installed 10.6.6 a few months ago (and added more ram, up to 12 GB now) and it's working fine for me.
I changed the new lighting off (there's an option you can do this), can't stand the new lighting because it looks weird, allover too dark and not realistic at all, in real life high noon causes sharp shadows, but with this new light there are none, just light shading, makes the whole landscape look like it's cloudy when there's a glaring sun in the sky????
So if you don't like the lighting turn it off, and if it's because you don't have snow leopard and you can't update then that sucks and I hope Notch fixes that.
IMPORTANT QUESTION: Am I going crazy or have we lost the beautiful smooth stone half blocks (you used to craft them with 3 cobble stones in a row). They are my fave blocks to build with and they seem to have disappeared in my inventory/chests????????
I don't judge anyone who uses whatever programs to edit in blocks. I wish I could do that, I'm on a Mac and no programs out there work nicely so I'm FORCED to mine every item I use, and yes it's a horrible waste of time, when I could be building instead.
Now for my advice and I wish someone had told me this:
I built the CN Tower, but unfortunately I didn't stop to find out how high I could build it. I did all the math, i.e. scaled it to 1:3 etc. etc. did all the diagrams, yadda yadda yadda, then I find out I can only build 64 blocks from sea level.
So I do more math and scale it even further, i.e. base height of 105 blocks down to 35 blocks, but stupid me I forgot that where I started to build it was not on sea level, so I ended up losing 10 blocks height mid-build.
End of a month's work, I have a CN Tower that in width is to my original 1:3 scale, but the height is ridiculous, it looks like a pancake CN Tower LOL
So do the height/blocks math first or you'll end up like me with a stumpy looking CN Tower that has an antenna of only 5 blocks when it should have been 61 blocks high.
Do you have to be a real computer savvy person in order to use MCMap Live? (I know nothing about this stuff)
I'm a complete newbie and don't know anything about this.

If there is anyone out there willing to explain how I use MCMap Live, please message me, and keep in mind I'm totally non computer literate. I just play minecraft and would love to learn more.

Chicken farms can be made with chicken eggs!?
I wonder if you can make a Creeper Farm by using the eggs that creepers lay...

If you look carefully you'll note that the egg was actually to the creepers left and about 1 to 2 blocks infront, it's probably the "fog" effect so it didn't show up until you moved in closer to creeper. Rewatch again and stop a frame just before the egg appears and you'll see that it was not in direct line with it. It was probably left by some nasty spy chicken who wandered by previously and left it there to drive you crazy LOL.
