Hello Wardens,

I would like to recommend Just_Jarryd for Guard as he is great friend, a really nice person, and has an excellent mind for judging. He is great at finding who hacks and doesn't and is not at all biased. He is an excellent PvPer and as a Guard, I am sure he will do VERY well at Guard in all ways across the board. I have played on multiple servers with Just_Jarryd and I know him quite well. I know he will not let you down. His application may not be the best (but his heart is <3 - lol jks: way too corny xD) but as soon as he is Trainee I am sure you will not regret accepting him.^ ^ ^

Also please re-Guard me, I was demoted for the Hunger Games yesterday by Noakii and he did not re-Guard me afterwards. I was also on today and I asked SleazyBaker to re-Guard me, and he completely ignored me and then left, this I am appalled at.

I am 15 years old.

3) How long have you been playing the server? (Minimum of 3 days)
I have been playing on this server for about four months now, I have plenty of experience, know what I am doing, and I know all guard rules and how they are applied. I tend to go on most days for about 30min-4 hours. As I Guard I would come on a lot as I love minecraft and I am obsessed with this server.

4) Have you read the Server, Prison, and Guard Rules?
Yes I have read and understand the Server, Prison and Guard Rules. In the Guard rules I was told to write 'Noakii' Who I know is a Warden and in game has the modified user name of "Supernoakii" with a pink 'S'. I think this idea of having a rule like that to make sure that you do read the rules before applying is an excellent idea.

5) Any experience with the prison genre?
This server is the first prison server I have ever played on and I love it. I have not tried any other prison servers as I have no need to as I am completely and utterly satisfied with the server. I also have done lots of work on this server and would hate to lose it. I have now played on this server all the way until Free, I have also ranked up my alt to Free too. I believe I now have a lot of experience in this genre of prison servers, and I am frequently re-entering the server to kill guards and prisoners alike.

6) What is your time zone?
My time zone is GMT +9:30 Australian Central Standard Time and I can be on in a broad number of hours including peak hour (I have been on during times when the server has been completely/ almost completely full) and a range of hours where there are no Guards online.

7) Why are you the best choice for guard?
I believe I am a good choice for a Guard because I love PvP and I am an excellent PvPer, I am a nice fair person and I can go on lots and work very hard to help the server as much as possible. I also have a lot of experience with PvP servers, this server and being a moderator. I currently have no other servers so if I have a job on this server I will be on the server A LOT and my parents may struggle to get me away from
my computer.

I love to help people and being able to have the power to do so. I see many times when there are rule breakers on and no-one on to help at all. I believe that if I am accepted as guard I will be a worthwhile choice, I will never be inactive on this amazing server and I am sure I will do you good.

8) What is your current rank? Do you understand that we will require PROOF when/if you retire from guard?
I am FREE with varying balances as I am working on a major project of making a very large monster grinder just outside spawn, fighting off all the griefers. AND I AM NEARLY FINISHED!!! xD

I believe I am an excellent choice for guard, that I would be useful to all and I would certainly be worth your while (including reading this damned epically long guard application) and you will not regret accepting me!

Also, some people have mentioned they have not noticed the 'Noakii' in my guard application. I have got it there under number 4 but to further clarify the point:

Basically my friend and I came up with this idea of cannons for Minecraft. They could be used as turrets for defending castles, traps and fun way to send people and mobs flying off into the distance.

Cannons will work great with the factions mod as they can destroy a decent amount of someone's base without needing lots of gunpowder.

Here is the crafting recipe and this would make 1 cannon:

Cannons could also be crafted onto minecarts so they can easily be moved for precise aim (let's call the dispenser a cannon):

Hello I recently was trying to set up a Local Area Network server and I found there was not a lot of help out there. I will work on this topic and update it regularly so please ask questions and give me more information to add to it.

Unfortunately at the moment it is not possible to have LAN server that works without an internet connection although one can be mad that does not use internet through gameplay (when you have limited or slow internet) This is not possible because if you play minecraft without being connected to minecraft.net your username is always called “Player” no matter what you tried to login as. A person with the username “Player” can play on the LAN server perfectly well but the problem is if two people try to connect to the server and are both called “Player” the second person to connect will kick the first and it will say:



Because of this only one player can be called “Player” and all others must have individual accounts which unfortunately means without editing the minecraft files it is impossible to play multiplayer via a LAN server without any internet connection.

To setting up the LAN server, first of all you need to set up a server as normal.
(I may update this later on how to do that if too many people are confused although there is a lot of help out there. The tutorial that helped me the most was on the Minecraft Wiki:

After doing that, do as following:
1. Open "server.properties"
2. Set online mode to "false"
3. Run the server and it will say stuff about how insecure and stuff it is (a heap of rubbish) If you have no problems it should say the Spawn area is ready.
4. To connect from the computer that is running the server click multiplayer and type in as the address: "localhost" hit connect and you should be in almost instantly (if that does not work for whatever reason try this: “127.0.0.1” although I doubt that will do any different).
5. To get others to connect you first need to connect and set up whatever you are using (e.g. Diverter, Ethernet adapter LAN, Tunnel adapter, built-in wireless router, etc.)
Next, on the computer that is running the server, open a command engine:

On a Windows XP open the start menu and use “Run”.
On a Windows Vista or newer (up to Windows 7) open the start Menu and type in “cmd” and select “cmd.exe” from the list. (C:\Windows\System32)
On a Mac I think you use Terminal (Applications/System tools?/Terminal) but I do not know the commands and cannot help you with the next step (anyone knows how please post so I can update this).

Edit: On a Mac you DO NOT use terminal. (It is possible but more difficult using the command "ifconfig")
Instead open the Apple menu (the very top right corner of screen) and hit system preferences. A window with lots of icons in sections will show up with titles such as: Personal, Hardware, Internet & Wireless, etc. Open up 'Network' in "Internet and Wireless" and go into the tab that has whatever connection you are using (e.g. Ethernet) and there should be an Ip Address - use that.

If you have an older (or newer) version of Mac and this does not work I am sorry but I again cannot help you. So please again post if you know how it is done or whether it actually has any difference/

Once you have “Run” or “Command Prompt” (“cmd”) open type in the command “ipconfig” and hit enter and scroll down until you find the type of connecter you are using with has an IP address next to it (if you cannot tell disconnect whatever you are using, and run the Command Engine in a separate window and try again and you can check what is different and that will be it). Any IPv4, IPv6 or Default Gateway addresses should work (whichever looks most like an IP address (192.156.1.84 or anything similar). Give one of these to all the people trying to connect and if they put it in they should be able to connect! (If not try a different one) Enjoy!

To all who thinks this is me asking you a question or that it is just an "idea" You are wrong!!! This works perfectly well (if not a bit laggy) and my friends and I use this everytime we are together!!!

Notes:

I have had this working on a Mac and a Windows Vista
Wired is much faster than wireless
I have not tested on a Windows XP and I am not 100% sure about whether and how ipconfig works for "Run"

7) Why are you the best choice for guard? I absolutely hate abusers. They **** me off very much. Ill keep the crime down low and keep everyone happy. Whatever it takes. I also hope to help with some other thing like events maybe? Doesn't matter it's your choice anyway not mine. I even done some jobs for Craft Realms, a server mostly for survival.(Has nothing to do with prison. I know.) Mostly build jobs, I have commuted with there moderators and admins and cracked down on rule breakers. I also understand that you need experience in PVP or "Fighting". I am pretty skilled at a general level. I'm getting better as I play Minecraft, but I am not a professional. I'm not sure if there are Pro PVPers out there. So yes I can PVP, I am not a noob. Even tried the drugs once. They make me dizzy XP, altough it gave me a laugh.

8) What is your current rank? Do you understand that we will require PROOF of your rank when/if you retire from guard? I am rank C. Working my way up slowly though.

These people have stood out to me, and maybe to a few others and I thinks its time for you to realise, it's inevitable that me getting Alpha isn't going to happen. These people are better, well known, mature, and have appropriate level of Spelling and Grammar. Also, recently, I've been getting the impression that you've kind of been sucking up to the Wardens, and in general. I've recently been posting videos on youtube of people xraying/autfishing and pretty much, each time you've gone against it, even though the proof is pretty much crystal clear! And this is only happening since you think you might have a chance of Alpha. Recently, you've been disrespectful by backstabbing other Guards in a Horrible way! With Crisk having her 'accident' you backstabbed her and started bitching about her saying things like, 'Oh shes a girl, thats why shell get alpha'. 'Sympathy vote'. Also you've been mentioning people with the amount of time they've been playing the server for... let me remind you with something... "Quality not Quantity' They may of been Guard a Month or so (gta) But they were amazing Guards with a LOT of skill and totally deserve the rank. This goes out to all of the people bitching about gtaTvirus Getting Alpha. He's got the rank for a reason and at the end of the day, its the Wardens/Alphas(Vote?) choice. Well said about Gta bomber it's exactly what I mean "Quality not Quantity". Gta is amazing with pvp, mature, handles situations well, and hardly makes mistakes. This is the quality of an alpha guard in my opinion and he has them all.

You're quitting just because other people have been saying you've been a bad guard, and you're afraid of giving prisoners a bad experience of Convicted?? I would like to congratulate you on your selflessness and integrity, but so far I haven't heard any official complaints about you, and I don't think you should quit just yet.

Unless you really want to be a prisoner, I don't think you should retire just yet. Give it a couple more days?

Alright, enough of this ****. Ben, aldron, crisk, Why do you hate me? What the **** did I do? Did I spam, no. Did I hack, no. So take your pointless anger and put it towards some people who deserve it, not some one who been here for months and was banned for the worst reason. Also, one thing. If my guard app is good enough, why reject it? Ill continue to repost my guard apps until they are accepted, I will improve them to an problems pointed out by aldron in his 5 essay analytical posts. Theres no reason to deny it, I didnt do anything that would make me look bad, I wasnt even banned for glitching to all people who make constant comments / posts saying I was. So aldron / ben, Reply as to why you just out of no where hate me, Im a little confused as to why you guys went into hate / abuse Gorea mode. **note** Ben, actually reply. Dont just say some one worded response, if youre going to hate me express your self in mroe then 1 - 5 word responses, Aldron's responses are like on a damn college level essay's. And aldron, everyone else, Dont reply with hate and take every single point I made and write a paragraph on how you dislike me as a person, Just reply like a normal civilized person and answer my questions. No need to reply with hate causing another argument. thanks

A note on reporting: 3 people complaining about the same thing doesn't equal proof. CLEAR Screenshots are okay but video is always the best.

Aldron, Ben you are cool with me but i stand by Sargent with this post. There have been multiple occasions where you and Ben have both been mass killing a lot of prisoners with no repercussions. I still have a recording of you killing people in vanish but that is beside the point. Many times have i seen Ben killing people and i have told him on TS/Skype that he needs to stop and he just makes up some excuse and continues. Back to you Aldron you have kicked people including myself from the guard faction and killed them.

I do not want to get into a argument with Ben, Aldron or anyone for that matter. I would just like to step up for Sargent because i know that you will both tear him apart about this. No one is perfect or anywhere close to that and everyone makes mistakes and that is why i do not think reporting and shouting ABUSE is something we should be doing. Sargent i don't think you need to go out and report everyone for doing those things especially because it is not a big deal. Its sometimes hard for guards to follow all the rules word by word. Most of your reports where about running into a safe zone but the number of times prisoners run into safe zones or pvp log is to large a number to put down.

I am probably going to get some nasty comments back to this post about the things i have done wrong and trust me there are probably a lot of things on that list. Aldron and Ben i hope you don't take this the wrong way because i consider you my friends but i am just trying to stick up for people and show everyone that you need to just enjoy the little things.

I need to say that I am doing this because i like this server, and i am trying to help make it better. And one of the main problems is terrible guards. If any more guards horridly suck I'll report them too.

Well thats lovely Mortem_deus here.

1. I ran into c bank to tell you to type "@help" due to you blocking and hitting at the same time, as soon as u said it I ran out, we giggled, then continued to slaughter eachother.
2. the second time I did it is to count out a person who was in pvp, I believe I am aloud to go into Non PVP to count out a person.
3. I did not go into non PVP three times, and even if I did, you have no screenshots backing up your dispute. Only one SS of me in non pvp once. not three times
