The basic reason why I am inactive from the server is:
I installed another OS on my school computer which is somewhat fast, bypassing all security and letting me do anything on the internet, I used this computer for gaming online and offline as it was somewhats fast
Some idiot from my school tripped me up and broke my laptop
My laptop is being repaired and I will not get it back until the end of the summer holidays (over 6 weeks away D:)
My other laptop is a windows millennium old Dell computer with 100MB of RAM and even with lubuntu (the fastest Linux OS: Linux is faster than windows or mac, but ) installed and optifine and all settings off and a 1x texture pack (yes, they exist) I can only get about 6 FPS max
This is not even worth it and I am not going to bother with minecraft for the time being.
I will however suffer through this horrible lag (did I mention the internet cuts out every 10 minutes because the wireless card is stuffed?) and the internet cutting out to save all my items in my many plots.
and the problem with the plots... In total amongst my plots I would have at least 30 double chests full of stuff that I think is of reasonable value. Using chestshop I can stack some unstackable items for convenience, but this reduces very few. I then have 6 double chests in storage and 6 double chests in ChestKeeper. What do I do with all the other items? I am forced to throw out a lot of reasonable stuff, like diamond tools and iron armour (yes, I use it for trolling and general usage) I will also try my hardest to sell things...
o.O then this server has its problems if it doesn't accept transfers from kdc.
We don't accept any transfers. This is perfectly logical because we don't trust admins of random servers, and that their money making is the same speed. We also don't like people being able to skip the ranks for free.

On my camp we went to a place called Kangaroo Island and we saw many Kangaroos (hence the name), Wallabies, Joeys, Echidnas, Possums and Koalas which are all native Australian animals, many of which are marsupials. I though foreigners may find thsi interesting.

Why does everyone ask noakii? Noakii will not usually help with issues that are your problem and not server related as far as I believe. The forums are a place for a community and we are just as capable at helping you out...

This sounds like a bit of a complicated plugin...once I suggested to Viper that we should get a plugin that allows you to jail a player within a minute of them logging off, but he stated that it would be too complicated.
I spoke to MeneXia (Dev) about this plugin idea and s/he said he would give it a shot, and it didn't look too hard. I also suggested that because it was a more difficult plugin he could simply make it as a general public plugin that is used by convicted. This would advantage MeneXia with his coding as it will become very popular I believe.
I miss choc, but I feel that he did the wrong thing to ban people randomly. If he does get unbanned, he would be stripped off his title and given the rank of either C - Free. In my opinion, I think that the wardens would probably not unban him, but I maybe wrong
Choc was a C when he got guard. Choc went from C to Alpha within a month.
Hey everyone. I think that the maximum jail time should be increased for combat logging from 30 minutes to 45-60.
Why? So that we can discourage loggers.
Yes, it does seem like a good idea overall, but there are some problems. It is an excuse for a Guard to jail for long periods of time even without significant proof - abusing. Someone may crash and it comes to the decision of a Guard who may choose to jail them in disbelief.
So mainly clear logging is very hard to moderate and I do not believe Guards should have the right to do such moderating, and jails of that length should be restricted to Alphas only.
The best solution to this problem would be a good combat logging plugin. We have tried many combat logging plugins in the past, however most of them have had something wrong that has deemed them worse than no plugin. This is why we have no plugin.
I think instead of relying on other's plugins, we should ask our Dev team to make a custom plugin.
Features I believe the plugin should have:
Messages telling the player they are in combat and not in combat
A command to tell if they are still in combat
Configurable combat time
No warping in combat
Configurable grace period (time to relog on after a disconnection, only one allowed per 10 minutes)
Detection of the type of disconnection message in console to allow crashes/ internet failure disconnects more time to relog.
Public messages saying when a user leaves the game while in combat
No using chest-keeper when in combat
A command to 'log out safely' which requires not moving or hitting players or taking damage for a configurable amount of time and then kicking the player with a message saying "Logged out safely"
(Maybe) An NPC spawning where the player logged after the grace period has ended (about one minute) that can be one-shot killed. Also send a message to the player in combat with the logger.
(Maybe) After the grace period has ended drop all the logger's items at the player in combat with them's feet.
I told viper 1 month ago about the problem of Hackers - Spammers - Abusers. In the New Zealand time zone, And Austrailian Time zone. Especialy when there are 30 people on, one spammer, and it makes the prisoners shake with glee to see chat filled with
"THIS SERVER IS GAY"
There are alot of Alphas. But only like 3 come on, 2 do their job. I hope you folks can find out which does what and who doesnt do what.
I know that may not be much. But honestly over all. The prison, is rather s*** . It was cool in febuary, but that was febuary. Not now, and Now it was worse, more spammers, more hackers, less awesome people, and less fair alphas.
Before some scum-wad says "Oh you take this game FARR to seriously. Go kill yourself" But think about this. Guards devote their time to keep your little prison in place "

About the timezone thing. You were correct in saying we here in timezones of about GMT+8-12'ish with Oceania (Australia, New Zealand) and Asia have no wardens. We very rarely have wardens and very occasionally an Alpha. Noakii was correct in saying he was unable to comment on anyone in our time zone's guarding/moderating abilities, as he is rarely on at the same time as us.
Overall we do need a warden in this timezone, but who is there to appreciate someone and give them the opportunity and who is good enough for the job? Overall I don't know of anyone in this timezone that is a standout person greatly worthy of Alpha and later warden. I mean chocants seemed slightly so because he was on at this timezone and he was very social and seemed like he would make a good moderator. As you can tell Wardens do want someone of rank at this timezone which is probably partly why choc was promoted so quickly. Obviously this did not turn out well as wardens had not gotten to know choc and he really was quite terrible at his job (safe-zone abusing, auto-eat abusing, unfair jailing, etc.) which was why he was never very popular from the start.

Do /sethome just outside omega. Then to get there run into the free map for a bit (about 30 blocks) then /home and to get back bank all your items and type /suicide. Or donate and get a free warp.

Just one warden or alpha that is actually seen in a day.... I got on for hours each day and very rarely see a warden. 90% of the time when I see a warden is when I am on early in the morning or if I stay up until 3-4am. We often get spammers and the ocassional hacker but there is no-one to enforce them.
I believe redrum may make a good Alpha, but he he seems to struggle with patience in Guarding by the amount of times he leaves. Otherwise there are very few guards in our timezone of GMT+8 to GMT+10 (or a bit around).
With no wardens in this timezone it is very difficult for any Guard to be appriciated for their hard work. Take Ladida or oscar969 for example. Lad has been guarding for ages, but seems to not get a huge lot of appreciation, although quite liked and very good at following and applying the rules. Oscar guarding hard and well for quite a while and ended up quitting because he was not appreciated at all. Oscar guarded hard and did not give up when he was constantly killed, however he was unknown to most wardens to the point when he was temp demoted for an event Viper did not even know to re-Guard him.
On another note;
Gratz to dusty for warden, he definitely deserved it and I believe was the best choice for the job. Bad luck to ben and mrdyn who may have been a chance.
Gratz to gta for Alpha, he guarded hard and well and his position was well deserved. I believe gta will make a good fair Alpha.
Overall well chosen positions wardens, just keep an eye out for lad and red for moderator qualities. I also believe b0mber has worked hard and well and deserves some appreciation. Of course this has nothing to do with me, but I feel they are underrated and should be looked out for.
This is a anti cheat server but I'm pretty sure you can fly up 1 block or hover with fly.
Yes, NoCheat and most other anti-cheating plugins take a couple seconds or blocks to kick in. This allows for hovering in one spot about less than a block.
