    As I promised, an update about the 1.8 port.

    I must say there is very little documentation about forge for 1.8, so getting started wasn't very easy. But after getting the textures set up, and re-creating the liquipack pipe interface model in the 1.8 format, everything was pretty much the same as 1.7, so I could just copy it over and be done with it. So the 1.8 version is functionally complete. There are a few things left though:

    1. The liquipack model, which looks all messed up, still not sure how to fix this.
    2. The rendering of tanks in the guis. I was doing this with code I shamelessly borrowed from buildcraft, and it doesn't work anymore. So I need to figure that out.
    3. Then there's just some testing to do, which hopefully you guys can do.

    As far as I can tell I don't think this is caused by my mod, but the error seems to be the "GuiScreen" Class (A client side component) is being loaded by some mod on the server, and since it doesn't exist on servers (servers don't have any graphics related component) the game crashes. I have no idea what mod is causing it. If you confirm that it's liquipacks (say by removing liquipacks and checking if it still crashes), please inform me and I will look into it.

    Hi Everyone!

    Its been a while since I last posted. I lost motivation, and worked on some other things for a while.


    Anyway, just wanted to say I started working on a 1.8 port. I will probably not do any more content updates for 1.7, the mod is pretty feature complete anyway.


    Just a small update, I will give more updates on the port progress in the coming weeks, there is quite a lot of work to do, but it should only take a couple weeks.

    Hello Everyone! Its been a while, but I've finally gotten around to releasing a new version, 1.5! This version is mostly bugfixes and behind-the-scenes things, but it has two nice new additions. Here is the changelog:


    - New recipes! Credit to BioMasterZap for the recipe design.

    - You can now shift-right click with the hand pump on any block that has a tank in it, and it will fill as much liquid as it can from the currently selected tank. It will act just like if you would pipe liquids into the side you shift-right clicked on, so in thermal expansion machines for example, make sure you click on a side which is configured to accept liquids.

    - Fixed the liquipack workbench not working, I basically accidentally removed the GUI when doing some bugfixes last version.

    - Reworked the liquipack pipe interface GUI. This should fix most of the crashes and weird issues people were having with it.

    - Updated forge, should still work with newer versions of forge. If the mod is crashing, try updating to the latest version. If that doesn't help, report the crash to me.

    - A few more bugfixes.


    Again, thank you BioMasterZap for the balanced recipes, hopefully these will make the mod more balanced. Also a very requested feature was the ability to fill a tank directly from the liquipack, and you now can using the hand pump.

    Make sure to stay tuned because next version is gonna be jetpacks, water guns or both.

    Don't forget to report bugs!

    Thanks for liking my mod. I really appreciate these comments. As for your request, this already exists. Its called the "hand pump". Does exactly what you were talking about.

    Yah, a harmless and harmful version seem right. Like a basic one that deals no damage but can knockback; maybe even stronger one with great knockback but no damage. Then there could be a high pressure one that damages. Maybe you could even do something like a hot water one to "burn" (more damage) by having water and lava. Or even just a lava gun. And I'd assume all of these would be held weapons that would draw from liquipack, maybe with a small internal storage of their own.

    I'll probably get working on this, but i'm not really sure how long it will take me. Never tried making a jetpack and never used particle effects, i'll report back to you all once I have a better ETA.

    The jetpack won't be much, not as extensive as simply jetpacks, just one item, maybe an upgrade to the liquipack, maybe a separate item. And powered by water and rf. Anyway it will be togglable. As for waterguns, that sounds like a really cool idea. Maybe have a harmless version, and one of those water jet cutters, that will be more harmful? Anyway great ideas thanks for the feedback.

    Thermal expansion ender tanks can hold up to 512 buckets of lava. They are 1 block and you can move it with the fluid inside. I would like to use these Liquid backpacks to run to the nether and gather large quantities of lava and bring them home and just dump them.


    Bug:

    I sucked up lava and then i sucked up water. It destroyed my lava and just kept the water in tank 1.

    Hi! Thanks for your feedback.


    First of all, the tanks, you can use the config to change their size (you can even do it in game from the mods button), do note it wont change the size of existing tanks. If enough people think the recipes aren't balanced for the amount of liquid you can store in them, I will change the defaults.


    As for the crashes, a few people have been reporting this kind of crash and it seems to be caused by having a gui with no slots. Anyway its nearly fixed and will probably be released within a few days.


    I cant seem to recreate the bug. Can you double check it, or maybe send me a bit more details?

    And I know where the crash log would be; I just forgot which one was the crash >.> The crash log I do have in my spotlight instance doesn’t mention liquipacks in it anywhere, so I am not sure if that is it or if I deleted it and that is a new one. If I have time I can try to crash it again and make sure I have the right log.


    Oh well, nevermind i'll see if I can recreate the issue, I don't really need the log if I manage, but still give me the log if you do find it.

    Wow thanks! Great spotlight! Everything was pretty accurate, just a few things you didn't point out, like being able to add tanks using a liquipack workbench and the automatic mode on the pump that will decide if to pick up or place the liquids depending on what you clicked on. (If you click on a liquid it picks it up and if you click on a block it places). Nothing big, still a great spotlight, thanks again!

    As for the crash, I can look into it, but you should be able to find the log in the console if you use multimc, or in the crash reports folder. (in .minecraft or your instance folder).
