    Yes, you need to install the pre-requisite pack or just install your own version of forge with the Render Player API

    As stated in my replies above you can use your forge + RPAPI and it'll work. The reason why I have it packed into one is people used to complain about two downloads in separate places, so I combined them and linked it one my site.

    Thanks, I'll try to re-create the problem. Are you in SMP? Because the auto crossbows can be a little wonky in SMP.

I'm not aware of any other mod author that supplied a "base/core" part of their download included with Forge to inject straight into the jar. That is crazy. People with existing worlds could easily damage all sorts of things depending on which version of Forge they are using. You've put way too much awesomeness into this mod to let it die by adding these extra complications in setup. Just create a mcdoodle-core.zip or something to go in the MOD folder along with all your other mods. Same thing "Minefactory Reloaded" or a ton of other mods do.


    I guess I'll just leave a note or something beside the download that you can use whatever Forge version you want/have and just add the Render Player API.

    Version 6 fixes appearance of holding crossbows by re-adding the render player API dependancy. Also fixes a bug where firing a bolt in creative mode wasn't working.

    A suggestion to improve the crossbow.
    By right clicking with a vanilla bow you shoot an arrow, by right clicking on a mine-cart you are going to sit in the mine-cart, and on a door you open it, buttons too and maybe more.
    With your crossbow you just shoot the mine-cart and door, maybe you can make it so that is does the right-click action on things and don't shoot.

    Also, shooting while riding a mine-cart results most of the time in destroying the mine-cart.

    Interesting thought. I'll see if I can differentiate when the player is just shooting a regular bolt, or if they're trying to push a button.

    Yes, just install minecraft forge into the server, run & stop, then place it in the mods folder just like you would on the client.

    Are you using the latest version? v8 had a major lag problem but was fixed in v9.

Recent improvements to Forge and MultiMC make it easier to install mods, but some users may get the impression that the downloaded zip file goes straight into the mods folder and this is wrong.     Since updating my mod to 1.4.5, motion and rotation is very choppy, studdering to the correct angle and position. Has anyone else noticed this? Vanilla entities don't seem to be affected, although the code doesn't appear to have changed (from a quick looks through).

    It's actually the vanilla code, the structureMap hashmap in MapGenStructure is what's causing the problem.
