To the people saying obsidian boats would sink because they're "too heavy":

Care to explain why a castle built out of solid gold blocks can stay in the air without any supports whatsoever?

Yeah Minecraft isn't exactly known for realistic physics.

Yes, that's why I can't build a gravel castle in the sky because it will all fall.

Ever played Skyblock? Or tried to Build a floating or flying Castle or City in the Sky or Ocean?

Yes, I have. This would take away part of the challenge in skyblock: getting building blocks and normally common resources like dirt.

And, I have tried to build a floating castle in the sky. I bring resources with me instead of making them on the spot.

This is a great idea, but there is 1 thing you overlooked:

Because of the basically infinite amount of combinations, this would take literally years because they have to account for all the combinations of slabs stacking up to 255 (the block limit).

No support; this would take an extremely long amount of time to code.

Golly, I was just too lazy to go outside my house and grab some with my shovel.

No support; why would you want to turn flesh into dirt when you can use the flesh to heal your dog and get dirt right outside your house.

posted a message on Uses for Rotten Flesh
    Quote from austen_95»

You know that rotten fleshy stuff that clogs up your inventory whenever you go out at night to hunt some mobs? Yeah that stuff, why not have a use for it?

As of right now I believe you can use this stuff for feeding dogs and it can be traded to villagers, and in certain circumstances can be eaten... bleh!

Anyway here is the suggestion (P.S. not all of these have to be implemented, just giving different suggestions on how it can be done):

    1. Rotten flesh to Leather:

Yes, yes this is a mod, but not a bad idea. Perhaps incorporate a drying rack or something you can stick your rotten flesh on and perhaps a day later or something, it is all dry and turns into some sort of leather. Perhaps make this leather something like the rabbit skin in which you have to craft many of them into a larger piece of normal leather. (just so the conversion rate between rotten flesh to leather is about 5 to 1 or something similar) Or, save it to trade with a villager for emeralds, a much more valuable resource than leather.

    2. Rotten Flesh Compost:

Perhaps make an item in game where you can stick all your rotten flesh in and after a few days, come up as compost - or dirt - which you can then use to fertilize your crops to make them grow faster. This isn't terrible, but it's just a tad bit vague. Besides that, I like this actually.

    3. Rotten Flesh, Hostile Mob Repellent:

I have so much of this stuff, why cant I post this stinky stuff around my house, say on sticks with the placing ability of a torch, to ward off the different scary mobs at night? Maybe to make this not so overpowered, it could have a decay time, as i would imagine, flesh in real life would decay. (of course something like this might attract more zombies...) Or, get a wolf or a cat to repel/kill them off.

    4. Rotten Flesh, Friendly Mob Attractor:

first off i don't think attractor is a word... Anyway, this stuff probably smells pretty good to pigs, cows and dogs right? perhaps have the ability to set some of this stuff up in a trap like thing ((the trap doesn't have to be a block, but something made with redstone) Although can be a block if we want to get fancy). Yeah, or use leads.

    5. Rotten Flesh Jerky:

Okay hear me out on this one, i'm going off the idea in the first suggestion, use a drying rack to well... dry the rotten flesh and then stick that stuff in a crafting square and boom! monster Jerky! perhaps only fill up one hunger bar, maybe two but that's still not bad considering there is no chance of getting infected Or kill peaceful mobs that you don't have to wait for night to use and heal 1.5 hunger (4 when cooked).

    6. Garbage Bin:

Of course if none of these are implemented, we need a way to get rid of this nasty rotten flesh. Make a chest-like contraption where we can stick all the rotten flesh we have in it and wala out comes a diamond! Okay, not really, just something to get rid of this stuff without having to dig a hole and throw this stuff in. I'll stick with cactus, thank you very much.

    Responses in bold.

Minimal support; I only support the compost thing and that's it.

posted a message on New Boat Types!

I believe they have already alluded to more boats coming. Anyways, I think this is a pretty good idea. However, I don't like the obsidian boat. You can already swim through lava with fire resistance, and a boat that would let you do that would be overpowered, even if it requires obsidian. Also, wouldn't a boat that heavy sink anyways? Lastly, if an obsidian boat was added, I don't think there should be a heat resistance enchantment, I'd like an obsidian paddle, so if you want to ride in lava, you may want to go the extra mile to get an obsidian paddle. XP isn't a very big price to ride faster in lava while not setting on fire.

Partial support; I don't like obsidian boats, but the rest seems pretty good.

    --EDIT--

Now that it's a little more balanced and costly to ride safely through lava,

Support; mostly useful for multiplayer (hence the 2 people boats), but still somewhat useful for singleplayer. (going through lava brewing free?)

Yeah, no. We don't need to be stressed out by the fact they can break walls. They can already break wooden doors down. Besides all that, it's pointless.
