Yes, that makes you a newb, not a noob, just a newb... people always use the two interchangeably >_>
I've been playing since early Alpha so I always play on Hard, and even then the game feels to easy to me.
Because in general I'm not exactly supportive of the current mindset that everything in minecraft should be picked at and selected how each player wants. This attitude is seems to only apply to minecraft and no other game in existence.
Could you imagine players of any other game sitting there pouting and saying 'I don't want enemies in this area' or, 'I think we should have infinite Mana to go through the game as easy as possible'? And not only say those things, but expect the developer to actually cave to their demands?
There is something to be said about having a consistent game experience for players. If my minecraft normal mode has hunger and yours doesn't then we aren't even on the same difficulty any more are we?
I think of this more as 1.8 part two since the community demanded 1.8 before it was anywhere near done.
Personally for me its the best update so far because of all the new mobs, there are still some bugs being worked out but it really is a good update.
This morning, after a very profitable spelunking I decided to go outside and kill some monsters for fun. I was slicing creepers left and right when I realized I hadn't put any of the valuables I had gotten from mining in my chest. I basically thought screw it nothing can hurt me and went off exploring in the dead of night with 20 diamonds, 6 stacks of iron ore and a stack of gold ore in my inventory... yeah... I rage deleted that world not long after.
I'm really confused about this one. Your weapons are Swords and Bows, which makes me think of the medieval ages, but you also got Minecarts and Redstone. Or perhaps its set in a sort of ironic post-apocalyptic setting.

Going outside and killing monsters by hand is lazy.
Building a massive machine that can take days to build is dedication.

You just won the thread.

They make an excellent defense force, I've had little trouble with monsters invading my base since I outlined the area with these bunkers.

Any really dumb things you've done?

Like the chilling feeling of walking through a forest with logs missing from the trees.

There doesn't seem to be anything under the layer of dirt.
Please forgive me if this is some obvious thing I should know about by now,
but I had no idea what it is supposed to be.
Any ideas?

Wait... if there's a mod that can increase FPS by that much, why hasn't it been officially incorporated into the game already!!!
OT:
Yeah, you need to have at least 4 Gigs of ram if you want a decent experience.
