posted a message on Uses for granite, diorite, and andestite
I was thinking perhaps granite, diorite, and andestite could also be used for a substitute for cobblestone in making tools. The idea in its self is pretty much aesthetic, but give me a reason why it would be a bad idea.

I might be busy with school, so probably friday or saturday, I'll try to make it before then but I can't make any promises.

So, as for anyone else, what should i remove/add in the new post?
I just edited this comment because I did have an idea as to what you should add- pitcher plants,
they could fill up water every time it rains.

    1. The spawner has a property "RequiredPlayerRange" that defaults to 16. At least one player must be within this radius (Euclidean distance) of the center of the spawner for spawning to occur.
    2. There will be more opportunities to spawn. But spawning checks whether the number of the spawned mobs nearby ("nearby" defined a rectangular area, with radius double the spawn range (default 4) on X and Z and 4 blocks on Y, so by default a 17x17x9 zone) and fails if there are already the maximum (default 6) found, so you'd need to quickly remove mobs from this area for multiple spawners to really be effective.

OTOH, if you can adjust the various spawner properties, you could just reduce the MinSpawnDelay (default 200, 10 seconds) and MaxSpawnDelay (default 800, 40 seconds) to make a single spawner try more often, and increase the MaxNearbyEntities (default 6) and SpawnCount (default 4) to make it try to spawn more at once.
So it's not normal if spawners spawn stuff, and I am right next to it?

SpicyTM's information is incorrect. Copy-pasting the image will make it look like you posted the picture on your end, but other people will only be able to see the directory you saved your image at because they don't have access to your computer. You have to upload the image to an image hosting website, like Imgur, and link it from there using the following BBCode:

    [IMG]Direct Image Link goes here[/IMG]

This question can also be found in the FAQ, here. The visual guide's link is broken but at the very least you can see it's not as simple as copy-pasting.

SpicyTM, don't help people unless you have the slightest clue of what you're talking about.
To be frank, sounds like to much work for one day.

    1. 16 blocks
    2. Not really
    3. Mobs cannot be within a 17x9x17 area of the spawner.
    4. Depends on the number of spawners, how frequently they spawn, and how much they drop each time.
    5. No.
are you sure? I can stand next to a spawner, and it will spawn normaly.

Thieves have been suggested a lot, but even if they entire suggestion is well thought out, it's just not fun. I mean having something take items right from you would be very frustrating. And having the creepers attack them will just make pointless holes in the terrain

(PS, it's NPC- non player characters)
I see your point, and creepers alone are frustrating enough... by the way, thanks, knowing that it's NPC will save me a lot of embarrassment.

You can be standing on a spawner, and it will still spawn normally. Sadly that's all I know, so sorry I wasn't a big help.

I agree, but you really should use the search bar first, and those ideas never really got popular... at least I don't think so...

I didn't really know how to put this idea into context when I typed it in the search bar, so please tell me if this has been made before- thank you
    Cowards/scavengers (NPC)
In my struggled attempt to come up with another idea, I thought of Non-Player-Characters that look similar to Steve, and these mobs/NCPs are bad guys that are more intelligent than any other mob. They spawn very rarely. They do not attack you but steal stuff from you, they have the ability to open chests, steal crops and take things off of horses like saddles. They could be called very cowardly, because if you try to kill them they run off in sprinting speed, and will continue to run until you are gone. Eventually they will despawn, and all of your stuff will be gone, sucks huh. They spawn day or night. I would imagine they wouldn't spawn in mushroom biomes. But here's the good news- all hostile mobs are hostile to the NCP, so because a creeper is hostile, it will attack the NCP also. These guys are tricky, don't leave your doors open. Oh ya, I almost forgot, they can not spawn in player made structures. Please, give me your opinions, that's all I want. B)
