yup bad idea, when you installed modloader you have overwritten some files within the jar file. (that's normall).
What most likely happened is that you forgot to delete the meta-inf folder from the minecraft.jar file.
To revert back to the original minecraft, choose force update within the minecraft launcher under options.
And you can try to load the modloader afterwards again, make also sure that you have the correct version of it.
Thank you so much! I forced an update, and it worked! However, when I downloaded ModLoader, I did delete the meta-inf folder. Are there any other reasons why it didn't work that you know of?
Here's the story:
I am not an avid Minecraft player, and I do not have ModLoader or any mods. So, to fix that, I attempted to download ModLoader. After downloading it, I went to play Minecraft. I logged in, and after the Mojang logo, a crash report showed up, claiming that ModLoader had failed to load properly! So, I put the Minecraft Jar folder on one side of the screen, and the ModLoader folder on the other, and took out any files in the Jar that showed up in Modloader. (Probably a bad idea). I went back to Minecraft, logged in, and nothing showed up but a black screen. I've deleted both ModLoader and Minecraft itself. I also downloaded Minecraft several times afterward, and still no luck.
