    The Yogscast hasn't posted a video with Equivalent Exchange in ages. You're probably watching a video from the EE2 days, and this is EE3, which is not finished. So no, in its current state, EE3 is basically useless, but it looks like it's getting close to functional.

    Well, he did say he was finishing EE3 before he was retiring, and already had a new modder in mind to take up its maintenance. Even if that falls through, it's still open source, so someone's bound to keep it up to date at least.

    It's all theoretical at the moment, but judging by Pahimar's work with DynEMC up to this point we can assume EE3 will automatically assign EMC values to any machines from other mods made by materials already in Minecraft. There's already some support for IC2 in EE3's code so I've heard, but again, we aren't certain of anything yet.

    Yes, this. DynEMC calculates the total EMC value of an item based on the variations of recipes that can be used to create it. It isn't that you gain less EMC every time you convert that item, just that when you convert that items EMC to a noncompatible EMC type there will be some EMC lost.

    I'm not sure what you mean by that, but If you think EMC is lost when you convert items to EMC, they should lose that EMC only when being converted to another type of EMC.

    Presumably, each item will be made up of different types of EMC, like "corporeal" or "combustible" or something like that. We are assuming at this time that there will be some inefficiency when converting one type of EMC to another, while also speculating that there will be some kind of end-game EMC type that can be perfectly converted into any other type but is more expensive or inefficient to create.

    For example, say Coal is made up of 32 corporeal emc and 32 combustible emc. If you were to transmute that into emc and use the 32 corporeal emc to create cobblestone, which we'll say is 1 corporeal emc, you could make 32 cobblestone. But, if we tried to use the 32 combustible emc to make cobblestone, it may make only 8 cobblestone.

    Please note all the above emc values are made up and we don't really know how this will work yet.

    Yes, that's what I'm saying. Though it is smart to do so, it doesn't necessarily give us the right to berate people for it. Threads like this can stretch on into infinity with nothing but useless information in many cases.
