posted a message on New info on wolf/zombie AI.
Well, jumping up some blocks towards a zombie in my path, it was standing there going around and around in circles and didn't seem to want to come down towards me (it did eventually). Path was one block wide going upwards/downwards in one block increments.

Saw it happen few times, so i'd say they still need work. Over all happy to see things are still on the up and up with Minecraft though.

posted a message on What is your opinion on oceans?
Pointless, game/world limiting, boring, retarded nonsense.

There's a reason why people play games instead of swimming endlessly for days on end with nothing to see or do. If Mojang care so much why don't they create an ocean simulator where all you do is either float, swim or drown, and see how well it sells. Seriously, run these ideas past someone with half a brain before subjecting everyone to this 'Oh wow Minecraft is so realistic now' ********.

It boggles my mind how anyone could think it was a good idea. Unless they actually added bigger/faster boats/ships and different continents that have actual differences ie a reason to explore.

    That's my honest opinion.

posted a message on An Intelligent Discussion on the Terrain Generation.
They could expand biomes like we have now and keep a couple flat biomes, but otherwise 1.7.3 terrain was pretty spot on.

Also remove oceans. Why limit the world with a big lot of pointless nothing? You used to be able to travel/explore to your hearts content, now you hit an ocean and well that's it may as well turn around. Not to mention everything looks pretty much the same anyway so why go anywhere unless you run out of resources or caves to explore.

Give us variation, I could not care less if it makes no sense, if I wanted reality i'd go outside or poke myself in the eyes. I want to go out on an expedition and find some kick ass landscape that begs me to start a new base, 1.7.3 had that.

edit - bare mountains were a bad idea, rivers awesome, huge lakes are awesome, oceans are retarded, ravines awesome, beaches awesome, lagoons awesome, love swamps, etc etc

posted a message on To those of you who are disappointed.
I don't mind it the way it is, for playing around with building ideas while i'm bored.

But, this whole idea of releasing unfinished games is getting on my nerves. Seems very greedy and unprofessional. Imagine if all we could buy in stores and online were half or quarter finished games and a promise on the back cover.... I mean come on.

    Quote from Draewa

I'll be honest with you; I like the idea of free media and I did download a cracked MC-Version long time ago. I played MC cracked for a week and then I bought the game. I am doing the same with other games too, btw. Maybe this post of Notch is interesting for you http://notch.tumblr.com/post/1121596044/how-piracy-works

Agreed. Pirated, liked, bought. Minecraft was and is total value for money, worth every penny and I never play online.

    posted a message on 1.9 pre-releases
I've stopped playing altogether until a proper release comes out. I don't want to keep moving bases/deleting/generating chunks every two weeks. This whole pre-release thing is a nightmare idea to me.

posted a message on How do you enjoy playing minecraft while high?
    Depends, Sativa or Indica?

Minecraft with a nice indica is so relaxing and blissful. I can take the time to appreciate every little thing that I usually ignore, like watching a sunset or sitting back and getting an overall picture of the land in front of me.

Sativa, I don't know. If it's a racy high then i'm usually doing a few things at once, ie minecraft for ten minutes, check various forums, watch a video, play minecraft, put on a movie, get more food, play minecraft etc etc.

    Quote from darklordmack

I don't understand why fences have to be used for lamp posts, just make a lamp post already! I also find it weird that roofs are made of stairs, looks nice but it's just weird.

Because half the fun is creating things out of the world around you, instead of just using your workbench as an ikea store.

posted a message on Minecraft 1.9 V2 No Lag
FPS is about the same as 1.8, about 10 less than 1.7.3.

CPU seems to be around the same as 1.7.3 at around 50%, less than 1.8 for me.

Could be better but i'm happy to see an improvement.

posted a message on About the performance issues
I really wish they'd spend some time on getting the foundation rock solid.

For the record, there is no way in hell, I don't care how great the game is, that i'm going to sit there for four hours relaxing with a game while my CPU is churning in the 70, 80% range. Give me back the old Minecraft that I could get to run at around 15% CPU and actually enjoy it.

And no i'm not going to upgrade for an unpolished game. Some people have bills to pay.

In short, performance issues make everything suck... hard.

posted a message on Got lag in 1.8? Try this...
Does this help with the high CPU usage? I don't really have much lag even when using a 64x texture pack but the CPU crunching bothers me.

posted a message on What ruined it for you?
The hunger bar - I might get used to it but a) having no direct and immediate control over my health does not impress nor interest me, and :cool.gif: waiting around for health to regenerate is boring, and c) I may as well have just switched to peaceful every time I got hurt in 1.7.3, feels like cheating, and takes the fun out of it.

Experience orbs - you've got to be kidding, if you care that's great. Doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Having screen real-estate taken up by the new bars.

    Broken mob systems/spawning changes.

Sprint double tap. Sprint in general is useful, but ultimately less interesting than coming up with other ways of covering distances more easily than walking.

NPC's and NPC Villages - Is this Minecraft or some other game that i'd never look at?

The performance - I actually have great fps believe it or not, but I rarely play because of amount of CPU this game uses. I so want to relax while building and exploring but hearing my fans going as hard as they are when playing just causes me to exit and do something else. Though that isn't special to this version.

Otherwise, new blocks are nice. Giant mushrooms are nice. A new mob is nice, apart from the griefing.

Overall I dislike the direction this has gone in.
