I too am looking for how to get this for an XP machine... this seems to be only a 7 thing... the file isn't even associated with anything to be able to open it. Any help?

I was able to just do it manually. I searched for where each filetype is typically stored, then went into appearance setup under display in control panel, then pointers under mouse settings... all is working... pretty neat actually. Very cool. Thanks.

Your launch seems very interesting and exciting. Obviously the old guy here so far... so adding some maturity to the crowd couldn't hurt. I also come from an IT background with some coding in that, so I could be helpful on the back end of things possibly in time. I still like to game, yes, and I have some kids who are now beginning to play as well. I'm hoping to allow them online to play on a server I am involved with too, somewhere respectful. At any rate, hoping to see you guys tomorrow.

    Hi there...

    I'm interested...

I'm looking for a well managed server full of those who respect the other players a great deal and want a real community RP experience.
I'm a mature player, older than most.

I can be very helpful, creative builder, would rather help others out than assert any dominance.

    Let me know?

what you would like to done in this new vanilla server: Maintained as a fair place to play (long description available)
Why should I let you join our community? what do you have to offer: Perhaps maturity (did you see my age?)... but I have been playing now since March of 2011. I have a heavy background in IT (not a lot of coding but a firm foundation in a wide spectrum of technical abilities). My family is now playing as well and to be honest, I want to buy them all their own users and let them play online, if the server is small, tight community where everyone knows how to respect each other. I wouldn't mind being the "old guy" on the server so long as we can all have lots of respect for everyone. I play fairly often but would have times when I couldn't for a while due to family/work responsibilities. Let me know what you're thinking.

In addition to the "what do you have to offer" ... I believe I have a simple yet creative approach to structure designs, with an emphasis on incorporating multiple structures together as a convenient suite of useful areas and esthetically pleasing. I also like to build in secret passageways and areas whenever possible.

During PvP I err to the side of honorable relations, despising unnecessary gluttony or torment of one player on either end of the spectrum. I would rather work together and help wherever possible rather than assert any real dominance (unless a punk is deserving of a wake up call of some kind).

I have setup and run my own Bukkit server for my kids at home, but would rather work within a team to do things bigger and better than that.

If accepted into your "guild" I'd likely change my skin to one of an old man (haha) in keeping with the funny age gaps. Anyways... cheers...

posted a message on Seeking small at-home server setup - 1st time server
    Quote from PedroAsani

You have paid for one account, and you want four. If you want four accounts, you have to pay for them. How old the people using the accounts are is irrelevant.

If you go with online-mode=false, then it will bypass the account checks. But anyone can get on the server then. And typically the people who aren't paying for the game are the ones who do the most damage.

Thanks for your opinion and prompt reply, although I believe in a grey area and I understand many don't. I also understand many think they never have to pay and find ways around the rules completely, which is something I don't agree with.

    I've got some answers. Thanks.

What you seem to be saying is that you have paid for one account, but want to be able to use several...

What I'm saying, like many other games, is that owning it and using at home however I like is only reasonable. If online multiplayer was what I was after I'd have no interest in trying to get by with one account for my three little kids. Perhaps you are the only person who buys an .mp3 or audio CD but uses it on as many PCs and players as you like of your own? Get real... I'm not looking to cheat Mojang.

    Quote from Nickjf20

I'm afraid everyone will me hostile to you as you have pirated and stole software from an indie game developer.

Having 4 accounts and not wanting to pay for them all is understandable. I'm not sure whether mymcadmin supports 'online-mode=false' but this is what you want in the server.properties file which is created by plain old minecraftserver.jar setups.

No one has pirated anything. If you think this is pirating, why would I be asking about it if I already had it running? What is the purpose of the offline setting if not to avoid online multiplayer?

I understand the straight up 'online-mode=false' adjustment on the .jar file, I was merely asking of any other approach to an in home setup for server.

Apologize if this is an obvious thread somewhere... I've looked and looked and maybe I'm not searching for the right thing.

I don't have a tonne of time to set up a new at-home server. I stumbled onto the MCMyAdmin package server, and it looked great, however it won't allow offline user access as I always get the "not premium user" error. So I'm stuck.... my children are young and cannot do the online multiplayer as a result.

What is my shortest route to getting a fun server at home setup where I don't have to have online/"premium users" for each of them? Yes, we have purchased our main user, but we need room for four on the server. Can MCMyAdmin be configured for this, or is there a better server setup I can use? I don't need every step, may be just a good link or point in the right direction as I feel like I'm going in circles at the moment.

    Thanks so much... cheers.

posted a message on NEW Pre-Built server with a bartering economy~~ players needed!
    Quote from kdongitty

We need players for our new, pre-made server. It has a bartering economy and houses for about ten. There are no mods and you must collect everything. It is a Hamachi server and is not currently whitelisted. Each person will be selected a job and a house. When you log in please contact Jday03, Rubyshell, or Kdongitty. We are the server admins and will give you your job and house. Please do not use server commands, for it will result in permanent ban. To get the things you need you will have to get it from the person who's job it is.

    OPEN JOBS--
    Woodsman-Collects wood, saplings, and sand
Hill Person-Travels to the nether and comes into town to trade away glowstone and netherrack for other things, lives outside city bounds
    Blacksmith-Crafts weapons and armors
Miner-Collects all recources underground in the mineshafts
Inn Keeper-Tends to the people who need a home to stay at for the night
Tavern Keeper-Serves Pork and Milk to travelers
Warriors-Keep the town safe by patroling and keeping the baddies away

Each profession can hire an apprentice/assistant. Do not do anything other than what your job is.

The server will not always be up-- But when it is you are free to come on. The limited amount of players will be 12 and 2/12 spots are already taken.

    Hamachi Network and Password:

    Network ID: comein100
    Password: please

Even though you are OP, the only reason is so you can break blocks close to spawn point. Please do not break any blocks you didnt place. There is a rule board so please read that first.

    TYTY-~-~-~-~ Kdongitty

This sounds sort of interesting, however, I'm not sure I'd like the idea of being so limited in what I could do. Where did you come up with this idea?

posted a message on Multiple Versions Simultaneously?
Firstly, I searched but didn't find anything on this issue. If there is one out there, apologies.

I just began to get up the motivation to setup my own server. I have young kids playing minecraft and I don't want them on the internet playing multiuser so I want to setup a server locally here at home and get them playing each other.

A secondary thought is that if I enjoy developing a server environment, perhaps I will do a public one.

I'm quite new at Minecraft though, so perhaps you can help me out with the right initial steps.

I am running 1.5_01 for SPM on this PC.

I cannot download the 1.5_01 server install any longer (why isn't there an archive for older versions available???? Grrr!).

I have modded my 1.5_01 and don't care to throw that all away right now.

Question: Can I download the latest server, install it on the same PC without disrupting the 1.5_01?

Question: Is there any way to allow a 1.5_01 client to connect to a 1.6 server?

Thanks a bunch you guys... I know there is a great deal of MC wisdom represented out there... so steer me straight?

Most likely in its Rampage it Hit Other Creatures, which in turn attacked it, killing it. You should be thankful that happened lol. They can be horrible. :sad.gif:

Yeah, I figured a Creeper was close, and that is what did the explosion.... and killed it... it looked red in colour too... but only saw it's dying plummet to the earth.... so couldn't tell for sure.
