Can I get in without a youtube channel? All day I have been trying to record gameplay with a mic but either the mic seems to quiet or doesent work.

Unfortunately no. If you have ever watched the ultra hard core series, part of the fun is being able to see it from everyone's perspective. If we aren't able to find enough people to film we may let in some people who can't. Currently, we have 6 filmers and are looking for two more. I will let you know if we can't find any other filmers.

Once you get a youtube channel set up, send me a quick sample vid. As long as everything looks ok, you are in!

Oh, make sure you can make the time and date (afternoon of may 12th).

posted a message on Ultra Hardcore: Looking for Host, Admin/Ref, and Players
    Greetings everyone!

I am about to start up an ultra hardcore series for the server I run (think large scale, single death, hard pvp if you are unsure of what it is). Problem is, I need a few extra players who are not on the server. We plan to make this a high quality production in all aspects and it should be a lot of fun. Because of this, we are looking for specific types of players.

We will provide everyone with a youtube intro for this series.

    Host Must:
    1. Know how to install mods.
    2. Be available (see below).
    3. Have 10 slots.

    Players Must:
    1. Be adults (18+)
A big project requires coordination and communication.

    2. Be reliable
We will need to film it all at once, and release on a schedule, leading to....

    3. Have an established youtube channel
You don't need to be youtube famous, but you do need to know how to produce high quality video and audio on a schedule.

    4. Be available
We will film on May 12th. You must have 3-6 hours set aside for that time. Filming will begin in early afternoon (EST) so that EU players can participate as well.

    About the Game:

    1. Everyone must film and release.
    2. Basic rules.
    3. 4 teams of 2.
    4. Fairly small map to encourage action.5
    5. Ultrahardcore mod (ofc)

If this seems interesting to you, please leave the following below:

    1. Age
    2. Do you have a mic?
    3. Youtube channel
    4. Host, admin, or player?

Quick tip for all you soon to be youtubers, do not make your intro more than 5 seconds. If it is 10+, it is wayyyy longer than it should ever be. Under 5 is key if you want people to keep watching.

I just started playing minecraft yesterday and I love the survival mode, finding mats and establishing somewhere, and was wondering if there are some low population servers (not empty but not full) that aren't totally PvP/Gank or are noob friendly (I don't have any mods yet I have just learned how to change my skin heh) But finding neat things other people have built as I explore and develop an un-developed area with the chance of seeing other people appeals to me.

What kind of servers should I be interested in? Survival? Vanilla? PVE? A combination of the 3? I really have no idea where to begin.

    *EDIT*

Thanks for the guidelines, it was difficult browsing server forums not exactly sure what I was looking for!

Survival: I like fighting enemies (PVE enemies) so Survival would be great. I'm not looking to build grandiose things that I would be sad if a creeper exploded lol.

No PVP: I don't feel like getting into that.

Small: I don't mind a bunch of people, but that would be counter productive to my desire to build small bases on un-developed land. Plus knowing everyone is helpful to keep griefers away.

Legit: I like to have to mine my own ingredients

Whitelist or not: I dunno, I'd like to join a nice private server that meets all my needs but I'm a bit of a noob and won't make too many contributions or anything. I play just to unwind, so I don't want to join a private server under any expectations (other than I don't act like an ass and destroy or loot other ppls things).

Age: I'd like it to be 18+ I mod a terraria server for my lil brother (12yo) and his friends and I'd like to Minecraft with a more mature age group lol

    Hi Sherio,

Oddly, I run the exact server you are looking for. We do like to do community builds and pvp (only in our prebuilt arenas, no one will kill you in your house), but they are both optional. If you would like to check it out send me a PM and I will add you to the whitelist.

You would have to venture into the wilderness a little for a building spot though as we like to stay fairly spaced out.

Knowing what you want will be the first steps. Here are some considerations.

    Survival vs Creative
Survival offers the ability to band together and survive vs mobs (and sometimes other players). Creative is more for just building awesome creations.

    PvP
PvP can either be constant (fight everywhere), limited (fight in some areas), or off (no fighting)

    Vanilla vs Modded
Vanilla means no mods outside of anit-grief and backup. Modded changes game play significantly. If you want to play a modded server, check out their mods and see if it fits your play-style.

    Small vs Large
Think about the community size you want. Do you want a place where everyone knows everyone, or do you want a large world with lots of people?

    Legit vs Hacked
If you are playing survival, do you want a server where people are given materials, or do you want to play legitimate and mine/trade for everything?

    Whitelist or Not?
A whitelist means only predetermined players can even access the server. This makes the server more secure, but also means there are less players generally.

    Player Age
How old do you want fellow server members to be?

These are some things to think about. Once you have decided how you want to play, update your post so people know what servers to offer you. Keep in mind, many server admins will just spam all of these pages with 'ads', so make sure their offers fit your needs.

    Hope that helps. Cheers.
