Whoops, sorry about not being specific. It means that you have to go into the mob folder and take the .png files, then open minecraft.jar's mob folder and add the .png files to the now-open folder.
RAGE. Are 1.2._01 mods compatible with ._02? Or not? Because spawnlist and API are currently at 1.2.01...

You have to install ModLoader, the settings API GUI, and spawnlist.
And you removed all the mob files in the mob folder by dragging even the "mob" folder. You have to individually do that one.
But I installed everything and did it correctly, and...I still freeze, so...

Jan 28, 2011@Cornshot, thanks for the reply. I will look into that. I'm glad you noticed the rotting wood.Posted in: Resource Packs
@HagenBraun, I realized that. I SUCK at tiling, I'll be trying to fix that later. Right now, my primary concerns are the GUI and items. Thanks for the heads-up, though.
Jan 28, 2011Woot! I finally made this, and it looks decent. I have yet to do the items, but terrain is almost done, and I want to do custom water. Icons are complete. I just wanted some feedback.Posted in: Resource Packs
The gui hurts my eyes too. I'll fix it later.
ALL COMPLETELY ORIGINAL, EXCEPT THE WOOL TEXTURES AND BUTTONS FROM QUANDARY PACK. I'LL DO THOSE LATER. ACCEPT THE CURRENT ONES. MADE WITH MACROMEDIA FIREWORKS MX.
I haven't done redstone ore yet.

Fallout 3 scares me when it comes to leaving vaults...bleh.
A creeper. In my moat. I walked over my bridge, heard *SSSSSSssss...* and turned it to peaceful a second before the explosion.
Another time, I was speeding along the coast it my awesome boat, and just then, a swimming creeper appeared!
I hit it into the air with a sword, and it blew up, sending my and my boat flying onto the deck of my newly constructed Spanish galleon. Blehh.

And cheating doesn't exist in single player? Let's take an example. Final Fantasy X. I can cheat and put on 999 x potions. That's cheating.
Let's take another example. Minecraft. I can cheat and put in 255 of every block.
Nope, you're just angry because you don't like the thought of others getting loads of blocks by using a program, whilst you sit there getting them by hand. I switch between to two - I have a World where I get my materials without using INVedit and I have a world edited with MCedit so I have a huge area of flat land and I have 255 of most blocks. This is used to test my creativity. umad?
He's got a point. But really. Someone oughta lock this thread and you two can duke it out in PMs or something. I do the exact same thing----I have legitimate diamond tools and a colossal fort with guns all over the place, and I have a hacked fort with cannons on the roof. It doesn't matter. King here is just trying to find something to complain about. Drop it.
Jan 28, 2011You realize it's illegal to give people a trojan virus thing? (I'm no expert on doing that anyway. Because I don't.)Posted in: Mods Discussion
And it's stupid. A guy requests a mod and you want to hack his PC and send him hate mail. The human race could do with less of this kind of mentality...

BAH, I'm furious at Bukkit. (Which is also my best friend's nickname...) They're upgrading VERY slowly, and some of my favorite servers are down...

Describe your hobbies in Minecraft: raping
Tell us what you expect from here: rape material
I wouldn't let you on here if I was in control of the whitelist. It's a mature community, not a place for 19-year-olds to act stupid and perverted. Go read a book.
Monkah, I was on your old server, and I would be interested in staff...
EDIT: FIVE teams!? Three was much simpler, but I'm not arguing. Am I still on red? :tongue.gif:
Jan 22, 2011Some people out there are n00bs to Minecraft. So here are some tips in various subjects.Posted in: Survival Mode
-Dispose of the wooden sword as fast as possible. It's weak as anything.
-You can't charge a skeleton like you can a zombie. Skirt around it and take passing lunges as it shoots arrows past you. Or just use a bow.
-When fighting a creeper, run towards it, hit it with a sword, and then run backwards. You are slightly faster, so you will be able to move out of explosion range and defuse the creeper. Just make sure, when running backwards, you don't run into another creeper or possibly something else. Go third-person.
-Third-person mode gives you a better view but worse accuracy with building and tools.
-Some caves are tiny. Some are downright massive. If you happen upon the latter, bring LOTS of wood, coal, and torches. And a pickaxe.
-If you encounter a dead-end, strip-mine away until you hit something. I strip-mined into a diamond once. Another time I strip-mined into a lava pit underneath a cave with Lapis Lazuli and diamonds, not to mention a ton of redstone. Don't be afraid---just dig out some stairs!
-If you hit bedrock, don't give up. Just dig sideways, but beware of lava.
-I have found that you cannot jump over a lava stream that is in front of you and not in a dug-out area. Don't try it.
-Don't cry if you don't find diamonds. Using MCEdit, I have found that diamonds are EXTREMELY uncommon, and when you happen upon some there are only 3-5. (Notch limited vein sizes enough to remove any possibility of a repeat of my cousin's /indev/ 20 stacks of 64 diamond...)
-Lapis Lazuli is pretty rare, but don't rejoice if you find some, as it can't be used in tools (maybe in a future update, because it has gems? Ask Notch)
-Redstone, when mined, gives 4-5 dust. It burns out due to a bug, however.
-If you find a dungeon, be very careful. If you mine until you find a wall of cobblestone, go around until you hit an opening.
This one is necessary, yes.
-Try to build using odd dimensions. A good size is 9x11x4 (nine width, eleven length, and four in height. Height doesn't matter unless you want it to.) That way you can place things in a centered location, like doors.
-When building a farm, do it underground. It really saves space on the surface for other structures.
-You can build a convenient sugarcane/reed farm like so (bird's-eye view, one level):
=rock floor(underground farm)
-Two-story houses have more protection. I once was standing in a small 1-story house, near the wall, when a passing creeper decided it should explode. I stood near a wall, quite a while later, in a two-story house, and nothing happened even though I watched a creeper through the window.
-You can build turret traps into your house. Embed dispensers in the walls facing the way you want to fire, and then measure how far they fire and put a torch/other marker there. When a mob passes, you can shoot it. (Preferred settings for firing include:
-Wiring a button a few blocks away to the dispenser (make sure the dispenser is accessible and has a big fat window nearby)
-Placing a pressure plate on top of/next to but on top of the dispenser. (A hidden con is that you can't stand on it and line up your sight. A pro is that it can be fired VERY easily, without turning and aligning your sight with the button.)
-Using a lever (untested, but it may make some sort of machine-gun fire, or otherwise just make it fire once)
-Build guard towers. You need high visibility, so make it mostly out of glass.
-If you like to have something to do during the night instead of browsing the Web waiting for sunrise and no more undead, build a lot of rooms with lots of different tasks. My base more or less consists of:
-Two story 9x11x4 (each floor) base structure
-Ground floor of main armature contains crafting table, furnace, and two chests, not to mention a fire on Netherrack for disposing of junk (like excess sand, feathers, singular sticks, etc.)
-Second floor contains a turret, a chest, and large windows and is connected to both guard towers
-Guard towers in the rear, going above second floor
-Large add-on in back, with Glowstone cross and access to the garbage fire.
-Guards towers feature dual turrets.
-Underground Nether portal, sugar cane/reed farm, and 2 wheat farms
-Lava trap, away from base
I check traps, run around in the Nether (and away from Ghasts), harvest and plant crops, shoot things with turrets (mostly chickens, because it only takes one arrow to kill them), and build underground rooms (while wondering what to do with all that cobblestone).
You need a lot of resources to make something like this, so
MINE MINE MINE.
And do it a lot. When you get diamonds, make a pickaxe and mine obsidian (I was lucky, because I found water and lava in the same cave, and right next to each other. It only took me a second to decide...)
-Make structures out of cobblestone. It looks more fort-ly, is more resistant to creeper explosions, and doesn't light on fire. Best of all, you can sit and punch the wall and it takes forever to destroy.
-If making an underwater base...let me just say you should give up or remove the water using MCEdit (I hate to hack my legit file, but I wanted to see some squid so badly I hacked the water out.)
-Don't make it so you can climb on your roof and look around. I did that until I remembered spiders could climb walls.
-If you want it to look like you have a lot of redstone-wired contraptions everywhere, just place random buttons, levers, and pressure plates. I placed a lever in the middle of the second-story floor, on top of the single obsidian block in the center, just so I could look at it.
-Dynamite cannons are useful but risky if done incorrectly. Place some on your roof if you want, but guard well (see above tip involving roofs and spiders) and use with caution.
- In the morning, run out of your house as fast as possible (hold down that key, and don't let them go!) and in third-person. Third-person enables you to see behind yourself, in case there's a creeper following you. If you think you have good reflexes, feel free to nervously turn around every three seconds. Go quickly, because spiders freqently. They usually hurt themselves, but at one time I had three jump off of my roof and chase me into another three, so six spiders were chasing me until I slayed them. BEWARE.
-Really want to see a squid? Hand around very shallow water (only 1-2 blocks deep) and kill other passive mobs (especially chickens, because they're evil. Go join PAECT, people against the evil chicken threat, using the search engine) until squid spawn. My first squid spawned in a shallow lagoon at the edge of a forest/desert. There were four. Since they tend to sink upon spawning, you need to dive deep if you hope to see one in the ocean.
If you want to avoid re-gathering your jack-o-lanterns or glowstone and drowning, just follow the above method.
If not, do it your way.
If underwater observatories/bases seem agreeable to you, feel free to make one. It's a bit difficult, but with some MCEdit-ing it can be done.
-Don't go overboard with InvEdit or MCEdit. I use these for test/hack files for the most part. I ruined a legitimate save using these. They take the fun out of Minecraft.
Phew, that was a long list.
Well, enjoy using the tips, newbies.
