i like the idea of nerfing armor but sadly with the way the community is most the time i honestly don't think alot of people will completly understand what your trying to say (not attempting to insult people just stating that a chunk of the community is young and havn't learned what some words mean.)

now as for the main post if they nerf diamond armour they should also make leather and iron more worth the resources to make it i mean it's not easy to get alot of leather in early game and by the time you do have a mob farm large enough that you have leather to waste your more than likely already aquired iron armor so what is the point in leather most the time?

honestly that's your choice if you open up to Lan on a world that world will be open to anyone on your network. now if you decide to start a public server you can move any map u want onto it or generate a new world for that server.

honestly i'd like to see how mojang would change the game if there was no community input for a month i think that would make an interesting test. then run updates that are similar to the ones they did and see how the community reacts to each update that mojang makes. and by the end of the month see if the two are even remotely similar depending on community input

i really like this idea and i'd love to help build but sadly i don't have a very reliable internet and not much time to play but i think another good idea would be to set up a very large world with castles with wide fields/ trenches far from eachother a mountainous terrain with a single valley running through it and a complicated way to get up the mountains but not impossible so that you'd have teams starting at different sections ambushes could happen in the valley and warefare would be fun/crazy on whatever side of the map the opposing team could get too and as to the siege being pointless due to them being able to tunnel through the walls you could always set up obsidian castles and not give out diamond gear to anyone.

okay i think they should be added but maybe guarding caves in mountain's should be smaller than an enderdragon but be able to attack in everyway a dragon would and the cave could be a new type of dungeon where mobs are more hostile u can run into baby dragons deeper in and also have a higher chance of finding rare ores but alot more mobs s

this is actually a really good server we need more people so our community can grow. xD come check it out and maybe you'll be welcomed into one of the new towns or set out on your own adventures to find a jungle temple. who knows what awaits you on this server come join now =D

there seems to be a glitch between optifine and this where they try to load at the same time corrupting the world.

how about npc raiders that will attack you and nearby villages once you have walls built? or something along new types of npcs?

~ Version 1 Features ~

So you're probably wondering to yourself "A mod involving clay? No Way! I need all the grey goop I can get for my brick castle!" Well put those tried, burnt hands to rest for a second and think about this: What if you could create your own miniature army out of clay and stage the most epic battles imaginable in a space small enough to be your backyard? Now before you accuse me of being a madman, take a look at this mod. Read ahead through the pages, and you'll see just what kind of violent mayhem you can cause with just a few simple materials plucked right from the ground.




Here's how it works: A clay soldier is an item you can hold in your hand. It is crafted using a clay block (for substance) and soulsand (for sustaining intelligent life). Specifically, one block of clay and one block of soulsand can be used to create four soldiers. Once you have a nice little pile in your hands (up to 16), right-click to place them all at once. They will quickly spread out and begin to roam the landscape. They walk slow and don't jump very high, but they have enough arm strength to climb up a single block. Unfortunately, since they lack a decent skeletal support structure (or even skin, for that matter), their delicate figures can be horribly mutilated by even the weakest of blows. A player can cripple a clay soldier in just a single punch. So naturally, they aren't hostile towards anything bigger than themselves. So, what in the world are they qualified to fight against? ...Other clay soldiers, of course!



Clay soldiers have a team-based mentality. They respect similar colors of their race, and treat their identical equals as brothers. But when colors other than grey come into play, things start to get a little bit more exciting! You can use red dye, blue dye, green dye, yellow dye, orange dye or purple dye to change the color of your soldiers, and then set them loose to start a fight! Grey soldiers are peaceful unless attacked, but all other colors will rush in for the kill without mercy! Their natural hatred towards members of a different spectrum allows for a lot of exciting events to take place in your Minecraft world. Build giant battlefields, arm your fortresses to the teeth, and let your soldiers transform the earth into a sea of crumbled clay!

...But then again, it's just a bunch of identical clay men, right? And there's nothing interesting about that, is there? If only there were some way to make things more interesting... OH WAIT, there is!



Of course it's not just clay! there's MUCH more you can do with your miniature armies! Choose from a variety of equipment, arm your men to the teeth, and have a showdown to see which type of assistance is more beneficial to survival! All you need to do is press q to drop an item on the ground for them. You can even drop a large pile, and the clay men will split it amongst themselves.


Since clay soldiers are so small, most conventional weapons such as swords and bows become unwieldy. So the most obvious thing to do is to start from the basics. A simple stick can easily be held by a clay soldier, and is their fundamental source of offensive power. It will randomly increase their attack by half a heart, or a full heart for 15 uses before it breaks.


Another thing to worry about is protection. Because they're so small, how could any kind of armor fit onto them? Well, it turns out that just one piece of leather can be easily folded into a handy chestplate, reducing every blow from a fellow soldier by 50% for 15 hits in total. Simple and classy.


As for the issue of health recovery, clay soldiers have the intrinsic ability to digest and break apart the atoms within carbon-based food products to produce raw element compunds that can repair their weakened molecular bonds. In short, they can eat food to gain health. Since one piece of food is too much for them, they will divide it into four meals and eat them correspondingly when their health gets low. Combining all four meals, any food item is enough to recover their entire health bar. This will work for any item of food (and for mushroom stew, they'll even eat the bowl). The only exception is cake - it's way too large for a clay soldier to carry all at once, so they won't accept it.


Moving onto more interesting things, clay soldiers seem to have the ability to recognize a monarch among their ranks. Gold is a symbol of power, so using their incredible metalsmithing skills they will craft a gold ingot into a crown and wear it. Each team will only have one king, unless the kings are so far away from each other that they can be considered as rulers of different regions. When one clay man becomes a king, the rest of the nearby team members will follow it diligently and stay very close. Some may wander due to the fact they technically have no eyes and cannot see their leader, but for the most part, they become a very tightly-knit society.


Everyone knows that anything can be made at least 5 times cooler if it glows in the dark. With lightstone dust, you can turn your soldiers into living glowsticks, and any night time battlefield into a raving disco dance floor! Keep track of your troops by using lightstone dust at night. Best of all, it lasts forever, just like our current torches :smile.gif:


As if a gigantic clay war wasn't awesome enough, now you can add explosions into the mix! A clay man will instinctively incorporate sulfur into their basic body composition to make themselves appear "creepier" to their opponents. But those black specks aren't just for show! When a besulfured clay soldier meets his demise, a small explosion will bring his enemies along for the ride. It will also destroy three or four adjacent dirt blocks, but it's nothing to worry about.


For what they lack in cake-consuming ability, they make up for in their ability to eat sugar. Just one lump of it will send any soldier into a frenzied craze for a whole minute, making them more agile and greatly increasing their walking speed. They tend to be responsible though, and they won't eat another lump of sugar before the effect wears off.


In times of great despair, teammates fall and great armies die, leaving the tired souls of each individual fighter with nothing to do but rest for eternity. That's only the case for humans, though! Clay soldiers only become incapacitated when their bodies are too mangled to even bend a single joint. With a simple lump of clay, any soldier can patch up a fallen comrade's wounds and send him right back to the battlefield, effectively causing a full revival. One clay lump is enough to revive four fallen soldiers. Just don't expect any ressurecting to take place in the middle of a fierce battle.

Well, that information was all fine and dandy. But something just doesn't seem right... don't some soldiers ride mounts onto the battlefield so that they can really get the drop onto opponents? I mean, no army can truly be threatening unless it has the ability to harness the raw power and energy of one of nature's finest beasts. And well... oh, never mind. This mod does have mounts after all.


Indeed it is true, any clay soldier can be given the ultimate gift in times of war: something to sit on. Using dirt and soulsand, you can craft a few horses for your personal armies to use and enjoy. Horses have no team alleigance, so any soldier can use any horse. While a soldier rides a horse, he will experience greatly increased speed. Also, 50% of all incoming attacks directed at the soldier will instead affect the horse. The horse has 50% more health than the soldier, so in most cases, the horse will be taken as a prize for winning the fight.



When a clay soldier dies, his body will always be dropped on the ground in the form of a doll, so you can ressurect him again immediately if you just pick him up. You'll never lose a single soldier (unless you've given him gunpowder and he explodes), so you can keep the battles going for as long as you want! Make videos, post pictures, tell your friends, and heck, go outside and make some real clay soldiers or something. Just don't forget to download the mod, because you'll be missing out on one of the best things that ever got dug out of the sand!

~ Version 2 Additions and Changes ~


For those looking to make even tougher soldiers, look no further than your nearest arts and crafts store. With simple materials like flint and cloth, your soldiers can enhance the equipment they already have! If a soldier has a stick and there is a piece of flint nearby, he'll use the flint to sharpen his stick for additional attack power! And if there is a block of wool nearby, an armored soldier can grab a handful and make some padding to lessen damage even further. The flint and cloth won't be consumed in the process, so they can be used infinitely! Remember, a cozier soldier with a sharper stick is a happier soldier.


As if sharper sticks wasn't enough, now there's an even better way to fight dirty! Redstone dust is good for mainly two things - nerding out your Minecraft world, and making people's eyes sting worse than a snail in a salt factory. If you give your soldiers a handful of redstone dust, they'll throw it in their opponents eyes to temporarily blind them. And while blind, a soldier is completely defenseless and unable to attack! It works for up to 2 uses, but if I were you, I'd bring a pair of goggles just in case any dust gets thrown astray.


For those stubborn opponents who seem to walk around everywhere when all you want them to do is stand still, there's slime. If you give your soldiers a slime ball, they'll make like Dr. Scholls and apply that green goo directly to the feet of their opponents. One slime ball is enough for two counts of adhesive. While a soldier's feet are stuck, they cannot move an inch. They can't be pushed or knocked back, and will only get free after about five seconds - or if the block underneath them is destroyed. Until then, they're just sitting ducks, so you might as well get out the bread crumbs.


You'll discover as you experiment with the clay soldiers that it's unfortunately very easy to get carried away. If you spawn too many of the soldiers, they have a propensity to find their way out of their battle arenas and into just about every nook and cranny in your world. When worse turns to worst, there's the Clay Disruptor. A handy little device made of 2/3 clay, 1/6 redstone and 1/6 stick, it's incredibly powerful when in the right hands. Pressing the shiny red button on the front causes the device to emit incredibly powerful radioactive waves that are capable of instantly killing nearby clay soldiers and causing cancer in small butterflies. Every time you use it, all soldiers in a 16 block radius are as good as toast. It lasts for 16 uses before it implodes upon itself and ceases to exist in our universe. And for some mysterious reason, it seems to work on dirt horses too. So if you're looking to cause some clay genocide, this is the right tool for the job.


~ Version 3 Additions and Changes ~


So you've got a military force armed to the teeth with everything you can possibly give them. One problem: they are still made of clay, so when you talk about their guts... well, they don't really have a whole lot to talk about. That's where iron ingots come in handy. When you give a soldier an iron ingot, they will use it to craft themself a skeletal core, making them stronger and heavier. And as a result of this, the knockback of their strikes will be greatly increased! In turn, they will also fly back a much shorter distance when struck by someone else. Two ironed-up soldiers will cancel out each other, however. The downside to this powerup is that the poor old dirt horses can only handle so much weight, so a soldier with an iron core will not be able to ride one.


ARRGGH! WHY NOT BOWS! I WANTED BOOOOWWWSSSS!!!!

Woah, settle down there Mister Piggy. Let me explain. Clay soldiers can use a gravel block to create a supply of throwable rocks. One gravel block is enough for 15 shots. The clay soldiers will hold these rocks in their left hands, and throw the rocks when their enemies are within range. They will back off and try to play defensively, but if an enemy gets too close then they will resort to physical attacks. Also, do you remember those attack-enhancing powerups, like the slime and the redstone dust? Well those powers still apply to the rocks. With the right combination of powers, even just a few rock-throwing soldiers can be an unstoppable force.


Here's a little something I cooked up special for all of you. I'd like to thank a special fellow named "Popular Demand" for making this possible. Here's the thing: a ton of you seem to think this mod is about building a clay civilization with lots of pretty houses rather than fighting. You're incorrect of course, but I decided to do something for you anyway. And this is what you get: A clay soldier is now able to pick up STACKS OF AT LEAST 5 LOGS. Hear that? Not one log, and not two logs. A stack of at least five logs or greater and up to a maximum of 20 logs. What do they do with said logs? They build houses, of course! There are three different random kinds of houses they can build. 5 logs builds a small abode, 10 logs creates a lavish livingspace, and a full 20 logs will fabricate a fabulous fortress (with a bonus chest of sticks inside!). To build these houses however, they will need a good deal of space and no other clay dudes around. Unfortunately, a clay soldier who is holding logs will basically forfeit their ability to fight, climb walls and even ride horses. But if they are attacked, they will drop their logs and defend themselves.


Another largely demanded feature was a better way to manage clay soldier equipment. Well, here it is. A clay soldier near a chest may look inside of it and see if there is any equipment they need. It may take a little while for them to notice a chest, but they will see it eventually. They'll take what they need instantly and leave the rest for everyone else. And if a soldier has clay, they can even bring teammates to life if their bodies are stored within a chest.


And yet another largely demanded feature was the ability to control soldiers. Well, this is pretty much the best I can do! Use a fishing rod to guide a group of soldiers to a central location. I won't get into it, but adding the ability to control a soldier is both VERY difficult to do and causes LOTS of problems, mainly incompatibility with other mods. So, I had to compromise. As an alternate to this, you can also use a dye that is the same color as their team and they'll swarm around it.


Last but not least, it's everyone's favorite dimension-warping handheld tool again! This time, its power has been increased significantly. Not only can it instantly kill all clay-based lifeforms in the near area, but it can also instantly destroy all clay blocks in a 12-meter radius! This opens up a ton of possibilities for fun clay-based projects. Just make sure not to build a stadium out of clay blocks - you'll most likely regret it.


~ Version 3.5 Additions and Changes ~



As promised, this update brings you four new colors of soldiers! There's nothing too special about pink and brown soldiers. In fact, they fight exactly the same way as all the other colors. But if you really want to go through the trouble of getting cocoa beans just to have an additional color, then you have my sympathy! And of course, I didn't stop there. The other two new colors have some very special properties that could quite possibly change they way you think about clay wars...



That's right! White soldiers are completely peaceful. So if a band of ruffians shows up at their doorstep, they'll have no choice but to sit back and take the hurt! They spawn with slightly lower HP (15) than normal, and they won't pick up offensive items. What use are they then? Well, you could have a race to see which team can kill clay soldiers the fastest! And being peaceful makes them the only team which doesn't attack hostile mobs. Now, as for the other team...



Brawler is really the only suitable word for these furious fighters. Black brawlers are so full of rage and fighting spirit, that they will even fight each other! They will also avoid picking up team-based items, such as golden crowns and revival clay. And since they spawn with higher HP (30), there's no telling which one will be the last one standing! And as if that wasn't enough, the boundaries of war have been expanded even further with new items...



What's lighter than a feather? Not a clay soldier! But even so, troops can take advantage of a feather's marvelous air-resisting properties to parachute down from great heights. Once a clay soldier detects that it is falling from a high location and is at the risk of receiving fall damage, it will automatically deploy its carefully-hidden feather and glide down safely. But be careful! Any soldier which has a mount, a heavy iron core, or is carrying logs will not be able to use their feather.



It's the answer to two problems in one simple item! soldiers can't see far enough? Get goggles! Soldiers aren't cool enough? Get goggles!! This convenient piece of headgear extends a clay soldiers's sight range by 5 blocks and also functions as a stylish set of imitation eyes. And to make things even better, all you need is one glass block to make a set of goggles for your whole army! Just make sure to drop it on the ground with q.



Here's a feature that everyone's been waiting for. Well, most people. At least half the people in my forum inbox. Anyway, it's the new Snow Pegasus Mount! A soldier will treat a pegasus mount just like a regular dirt horse, except this one will hover above the ground as its rider traverses the landscape! The snow pegasus can also survive more hits than a regular dirt horse, but at the same time, is just a little bit slower. This new mount is craftable using snow blocks, soulsand and a feather. For more info on crafting, see the summary section.



Unless there's something terribly wrong with you, you probably don't like seeing horse and pegasus carcasses littering the battlefield during an all-out clay war. For those who do have compassion for our miniature equine friends, a new feature has been added! Clay soldiers now have the ability to revive horses, just the same as they would normally revive their friends. And they still use the same material to do so, which is clay lumps. It's hard to tell why that would actually work, but I'm not asking questions.



We're getting closer and closer to the end of our V3 features, so don't give up yet! This handly little addition enables any clay soldier to access a chest within a minecart! It even works as a unit shipment vehichle - load it up with clay dolls and clay lumps, then send it down the road! One cart could change the tide of any battle - and you decide who gets it!



And now, the secret feature! It is a secret so secret that not even the best secret-keepers know about it! It's so great, it's reason to celebrate! It's the ClayCam!

This incredible new feature allows you to view the action close-up! Just right-click a soldier and see the action from over his shoulders! Pressing shift will disable the ClayCam. The smooth and quick camera movement allows you to see the detail of a war like you've never seen it before - until the unit dies, of course!

~ Version 3.6 Additions and Changes ~



Despite the amount of clothes that clay soldiers are able to procure, there has never been a simple material for them to make a cape with. Well, now there finally is. Using a diamond, a clay soldier will not only craft himself a very flashy blue cape, but his abilities as a fighter will increase massively as a result! His health will be multiplies by twenty (20), his weapons and armor will last much longer, he will be able to use food and weapon add-ons for longer, and he will even have a permanent speed-boost effect! Just one super soldier can take down an entire army of foes! But exactly how long will one super soldier last? It's your job to find out!



And just when you thought the mod couldn't get any more intense... There's ZOMBIES! ...or VAMPIRES! ...or ALIENS! In fact, I don't really know what they are, but they're corrupted and evil! When a clay soldier grabs ahold of an enderman pearl, it gets infected with corruption. And suddenly, nothing else matters except spreading it. When a corrupted soldier attacks and kills another innocent soldier, it doesn't die... It gets all of its health back, becomes evil, and joins the corrupted horde! It doesn't matter what team he's on. A non-corrupted soldier is an enemy. And by the time you realize their piercing cries of agony, they'll already be gone. And they'll start coming... for YOU!!!

...And no matter what happens, don't let a super soldier get corrupted... or else you will have quite a problem on your hands.

Other Things that were Fixed:

- the claycam now works with everything and is compatible with ALL mods.
- soldiers now respond quicker to chests in the nearby area.

~ Version 4 Bugfixes ~

- the old stairs bug is now fixed.
- behaviour regarding picking up items during battle is slightly improved.
- the glowing is now working again.

This mod will work with any other mod (even The Aether, I know because I'm a developer). You do however need ModLoader to run this mod.

Instructions:

You must first install Risugami's Mod Loader before this mod will work. Please do not attempt to install old versions of the mod loader into the 1.0.0 client.
If you are using a Mac computer, search for a special Mac installation tutorial if you have problems installing the mod. "Minecrafter" or something like that might work.
Once you've successfully install the three requirements above, simply drag all the files included in the zip into the jar. Remember to leave the image files in the clayman folder, and drag the folder itself into the jar.

Despite the overwhelming amount of demand for the ability to control clay soldiers, I will not be adding this feature. The requirements for such a thing to be possible involve massive amounts of edits to the original game files, a lot of custom code from scratch and more time than I have available. It would take a miracle for the mod to actually be compatible with anything else as a result. Therefore I shall not be making this feature and instead will focus my efforts on SMP and other creative additions.

I'm 21 and I still play Minecraft, I think if you bought it and enjoy it, why not?

I'm 46, so I guess I'm ancient by your standards. I play the game because I enjoy it. Its a nice diversion from day today "adult" life.



Besides, us old folks are the only ones who remember the original 8 bit games and the Atari 2600, so only we can truely appreciate Minecraft.

Nothing very special about this idea, it's bushes with berries which you can eat (saturates 1 1/2 food bars). Here is a picture.

I logged into the forums after a long time today JUST to see if there going to be threads like this. What ya know, I wasn't dissapointed! Anyways, like with every update, issues like these are temporary and will be fixed eventually. Just be patient and your problems will be resolved so once again you can enjoy another update of Minecraft. I honestly fail to see why would you post a thread like this, what's the point?

Chapter 1
The rain soaks my leather jacket. The ice cold water slowly dripping down my back and eliminating every ounce of warmth I had. I slowly stand, reminding myself of where I am and who I’m dealing with, “my name is leaf” I whisper to myself, a habit I had started, “I’m out in the Forrest near the camp, there is a man after me, I am after him too, he is a natural killer, out of everyone I’ve killed, this man will be the hardest, it is likely” I gulp “I will die”. I close my eyes, trying to distinguish movements of my foe and the loud rain all around me. My eyes widen as I hear something behind me, normally I would discount it as a pig, but tonight? I reach for my knife while spinning around, the movements feeling natural. I stop the knife just centimetres from my neck. I run...

3 months earlier

The sun gleams through the few clouds in the sky, it’s about 27 degrees and I’m stuck carrying someone else’s equipment, food, armour, even a stack of saplings, I mean, why does the greatest warrior in cemintarf need a stack of saplings? I consider asking if we have nearly reached the campsite yet, but if I do, I’ll probably be beaten. Luckily I realise that the mountains are only half a kilometre away so it's likely I can put everything down in about 45 minutes. Then, I trip. I realise about halfway through falling that if I don’t do something, I’m sure to receive a beating. Yet of all things I could do only one thing is going through my head. RUN. My primary instinct, if anything goes wrong, run, form a plan, and then return. So, I do, I reach over mid fall, grab some bread and then run as if a creeper is behind me. I quickly question grabbing the bread, in hindsight I realise it could add five whippings to my beating for tripping. Yet nobody would notice, somehow I can always take things without anyone seeing, yet it never hurts to be cautions. I run until I’m at the base of the mountains, most people would follow, not because they were angry at me dropping their stuff but because they questioned me running away, but then, Steve isn't like that. He would be after me because I annoyed him, although he knows that out of all people, I’m probably the only one who can’t survive in the wild, so at some point I’ll need to go back. Then I’ll be beaten. At this point I begin to question running, after all a whipping I could convince people otherwise, but the beating? What makes it worse is that no matter what I say; Steve will listen to no reason, and will likely go that much further to torment me. So, with my new found hate for Steve, I begin to trudge toward the camp site, eating the bread as I go. "Maybe I can beg for mercy"? I ask myself "Nah, he'll just see it as me being weak and having no power". As I reach the opening where the campsite is planned to be created I realise that out of all things I did, running was probably the stupidest thing possible. Even with 50 able bodied men preparing to assault a castle, and with healers, farmers and merchants, me dropping everything would still delay us, and we were pressed for time as it was. I realised that it was quite possible for them to decide to rest for the night and reach the campsite the following morning. And it is at that point that the gravity of the situation sinks in, I have no tools, no weapons, and need to spend the night in the middle of nowhere, with just an enemy castle ahead and a camp I’ll never find behind me. What can I do?

chapter 2
I come to my senses just as the sun is going down, I consider my options. I could go and look for the camp, although I am positive I would never find it, I could go to the castle, although I reckon they would chop my head of the second the saw me, the only real alternative is to stay here and climb into a tree or something, yet with skeletons, spiders and those endermen that have begun to pop up around the place, I really need a base to survive. Then my mind turns to earlier today, when I stole the bread. "Maybe" I whisper to myself as I begin walking toward the castle, "just maybe". I begin to run, whilst picturing the castle in my head, the walls are relatively high but there are also high trees that surround it, "if I can jump far enough" I run for a further 10 minutes trying to remember what the people generally look like on the streets and trying to work out if anyone would notice me among a crowd. By the time I reach the castle I can hear a spider chasing me, I slowly climb one of the lower trees and make my way, bit by bit to the larger ones, in about 5 minutes I have made my way to the tallest tree close to the walls. I begin to watch the guards, soon I realise that, although they look alert, they have probably been there for an hour or two and have begun to get lazy. I wait until they begin to move towards the watch tower. I don't have time to second guess myself, I jump... my feet land on the edge of the stone walls, I slow my momentum spin around and fall off the other side of it gripping the edge and letting my feet grope on the smooth surface. "Huh, did you hear that"? I hear one of the guards ask, "What are you talking about"? responds the second one, "never mind, probably nothing", I have trouble not chuckling, the adrenaline is making my brain work over time, I look below me and find that about 3 meters behind and 1 down is a house, without thinking, I push of the wall and land on the edge of the roof where I then jump backwards and land on a cobblestone street. Looking around, I quickly make my way to what looked like a poor part of the town, sit down and hoped that anyone that saw me would presume me as a beggar. There I sat for the whole night waiting to be yelled at, eyes closed yet wide awake. by the morning nothing had happened so I began to stand up when someone came over to me, "eh, a beggar are we?" he said ""well we've all been there" he continued before I could answer, he reached into his pocket and chucked 2 golden ingots my way along with a cooked pork chop, "no sense me giving you gold if you starve in a few minutes" I say nothing and just smile kindly at him as I begin eating the food, luckily he walks off without further talk, I begin to think "run, plan, return" I say as I realise the convenience of my situation. I walk down the street looking for the school; hopefully they would have what I needed.

chapter 3
I found it in the corner of the castle, a small shack rather than a school but I looked inside and find it empty. Perfect. I look around and find a chest and after further examination a stick, and a hammer, finally some luck. I walk to the center of the room and begin working on the workbench positioned there. I quickly let myself feel jealous of Steve’s super human strength, so powerful he can just hit metal into the shape he wishes with his bare hands. I hammered away for hours until I decided it was too risky to continue, I had finished anyway. I quickly walked out of the school and found the building I had entered from, then I realise... the roof is too high for me to reach, I look around and try to think of another way, but it's impossible, the only other way is the front gate, I could likely sneak through at night with none seeing, but in plain daylight. What makes it worse is that my plan centers on me being back at the campsite before the group; I quickly make my way to the front gate and inspect them while trying to look inconspicuous. For the first time in my life I think about the guards, what would convince them that I was no threat? Then a plan form, a plan that would either get me caught in an instance or makes them look at me and think of just another kid. I look around the roads and see a large butcher arguing with a man about half his size. so I walk over and bump the butcher forward, he spins around and starts yelling at me, I stand there feeling scared out of my life yet forcing myself to smile and eventually chuckle, "WHAT!" he yells "YOU THINK THAT'S FUNNY!" I force myself to double over laughing, "I'll SHOW YOU!" he screeches at me, at this point I run for the gates, as he chases me, the guards see me but then look behind me and see a giant butcher angry for my blood and immediately guess who the real threat is. "hey stop right there!" they say to him, of course I keep running, thinking that that is what any natural kid would do, when I’m outside the walls I stop myself from whooping for joy, I check behind me and make sure that no one is following, I see the butcher standing just outside the gate looking furiously at the guards. I begin to chuckle for real this time, and for once in my life thank the heavens that I’m a kid. as I approach the soon-to-be campsite I realise that nobody has arrived yet, half of my plan revolved around Steve being surprised to see me alive and in good shape, the other half revolved around how he feel accepting a golden sword from me, I take a quick moment to consider if making a golden sword for a man who hates me and who is wanting to beat me to death, was my smartest plan ever, but I begin to hear the loud sound of footsteps approaching, so I find a rock sit on it and hope that people see me as being bored. Then Steve walks into my field of vision. I hope my plan works.

Intro: A kingdom collapsed

A long time ago, a special place used to exist in Minecraft where fairies would roam free and live happy lives. This kingdom, called the Great Fairy Empire, was a prosperous place of peace and harmony. That place still exists today, but it's not quite as peaceful as it used to be. Following a royal dispute and several great conflicts, the Great Fairy Empire broke off into many small factions (each led by a single ruler) and began to explore the worlds of Minecraft in search of a new place to call their home. It seems that only just now they've stumbled upon your world - which means you've got some company. These invaders aren't going to be leaving any time soon, and they seem to just keep coming, so you've got a choice to make: Will you unite the fairy factions and recreate the Great Fairy Empire? Will you become their all-powerful leader and rule the land with an iron fist? Or will you drive off the invaders by force and teach them that your world is no place for a fairy? The choice is yours to make, but be careful. With these puppies, the bite is worse than the bark.



Classes: Meet the fae


Fairies are small female humanoids with simple leaf clothing, blue wings and brightly colored hair. They have the ability to hover above the ground and fall slowly using their wings. Some fairies are timid and will flee if they are threatened, but since the fall of the Great Fairy Empire they've learned to toughen themselves and put up a fight if one arises. Fairies typically follow their leader around and roam the nearby landscape. If you decide to attack a fairy, be prepared to deal with her companions as well!

Lore:

Every fairy faction you encounter will have one leader: the queen. A fairy queen is a well-respected individual who is both stronger and wiser than most fairies, and her leadership status is seldom questioned by her followers. Since a fairy queen is responsible for holding her group together, the rest of the faction will fall into chaos in her absence. However, since her followers tend to stay very close, it's not often you'll find a queen without an entourage. Her sword combined with her armor and buffed health are more than enough to help her deal with any enemies. If you want to steal some of her followers, you'll have to deal her first.

HP: 15 hearts - Attack: 2.5 - Defense: takes 1/2 damage - Aggression: always fights back
Special Abilities: spawns with a group of followers, can recruit wandering untamed fairies

Lore:

A guard is a well-trained and well-equipped fairy that serves as a personal servant to her queen. They wear wooden armor and carry matching wooden swords to help them take care of any pesky foes who dare to bother their leader. Since they tend to stay so close to their faction ruler, it's unlikely that you'll be able to take on a queen without eliminating her guards beforehand. They even have the ability to preemptively find and stop enemies that are targeting their ruler. As a companion, they're very reliable and a must-have addition to any fairy army.

HP: 7.5 hearts - Attack: 2 - Defense: takes 1/2 damage - Aggression: always fights back
Special Abilities: automatically targets enemies which are targeting her ruler

Lore:

When the going gets tough, the medics get going. Having an uncanny ability to manifest potions at will, a medic provides a team with a source of recovery in times of suffering and hardship. Medics won't actively participate in fights unless they are directly hit by an attacker. Instead, the medics will hover about the battlefield in search of teammates in need of help, and use one of two different splash potions at close range. A medic can also heal herself if there's nobody else around in need of a hand. Having a medic on your side is basically a free source of health recovery, although they can be a bit slow at providing potions when the need is dire. Besides the fact that they can occasionally heal enemies by mistake, a medic fairy is a great ally to have on any team.

Special Abilities: can heal teammates with potions, regenerates potion after 10 seconds

Lore:

Some fairies are faster than others, and the scout is one of those fairies. Gifted with wings of an impressive size, the scout's flying ability exceeds all others. She also wears a skin-tight body suit to minimize wind resistance. She can fly faster and higher than regular fairies, so she puts her speed to use by patrolling the perimeter of her group. The scout will stick to the edge of a group and keep watch over various things. When an enemy approaches, she has several options to consider. She can flee like a coward (most often), she can race to inform her companions, or she can put her wings to some real use and perform her trademark aerial drop attack for a serious amount of fall damage. When she's not goofing around, a scout can be a very valuable companion. As strong as her wings are, she still won't be able to fly you straight up a mountain - but there's no doubt you'll eventually reach the summit with her at your side.

Special Abilities: flies higher and faster than normal, can use a super aerial drop attack

Lore:

Perhaps one of the creepier varieties, rogues aren't your typical fairy. Wearing dark protective robes and living a life devoid of sunlight, they have developed a strange health condition that aids them in battle. They are resistant to the effects of the withering disease, unlike the rest of the fairies, so they are able to thrive in darkness. However, there is one particular side effect worth mentioning: the total absence of sunlight on their skin as turned their blood poisonous! They take advantage of this by coating their specially designed sleeve blades with their own venom, and then slashing their enemies to cause various negative status effects. Once that's done, they flee like a rabbit and leave the weakened foe for the rest of their companions to finish off. Even with their reduced defenses, these fairies are still very effective on the battlefield. Just make sure you don't get on the wrong end of their blade.

Rogues are a rare class of fairy that won't spawn from eggs. They can only be found in factions.

HP: 5 hearts - Attack: 1.5 - Defense: none - Aggression: flees upon successful hit.
Special Abilities: poisons foe upon hit. poison take 5-10 seconds to recharge. not affected by withering.

Taming: Making friends

Now that you've been introduced to the fairies, you might be thinking about making friends with a few of them. Well, you can! But it's not as simple as you'd think. In order to get a fairy to become your follower, or "tame" her, you must follow these steps in order.


They Come in Groups: Assuming you installed the mod correctly, you should probably be able to find a fairy faction quite easily. They spawn in large open fields, forests, taigas, tundras or swamps during the day. They come in groups of 8-10, and always have a central leader. The faction will consist of a variety of classes and colors. They should each have two words above their head which state their faction name. It will be something like "Avian Army" or "Dainty Demons". If you see a fairy you like in the group, proceed to step two.

Can't Find a Fairy? Try standing in the middle of a large field, waiting about a minute, then take a look around. Chances are a faction will spawn nearby while you're waiting. If you already have too many followers (more than 20 on SSP), the game may decide not to spawn any more fairies to prevent spamming.

Look Above the Head: If you find a fairy that has a white tag without <these brackets> around it or with a flower crown, the fairy belongs to someone else. If the fairy has no words at all above its head, proceed to step three.






A Previous Engagement: Since fairies are loyal to their faction, they will deny any requests to become your follower as long as their queen is still around. How to solve this problem? Well, you're going to have to be a little violent. If you're playing on Peaceful you can skip to step four. Otherwise, you will need to defeat the queen in order to earn the right to recruit her followers. If you've got some TNT or Lava handy, or if you're good with a bow, it's possible to assassinate her without anyone stopping you. Otherwise, pick up a decent sword and prepare for a long fight.

Dealing with Her Guards: As soon as you attack any fairy in the faction, any nearby companions will be notified. Some fairies will try to stop you by force, some will run away in fright, and some will try to provide support for their comrades. If a fairy has smoke above her head, she is angry. The biggest problem to deal with will be Guard fairies, since they stay close to the queen and will protect her fiercely. If you manage to defeat the queen, all of her followers will instantly stop attacking you and run away in fear. At this point, you may proceed to step three.

But I Want to Tame the Queen! If you desire to take a queen as your companion, you're in for quite a fight because you have to defeat every single one of her followers to earn her respect. This can be quite tricky, since she will be trying to attack you as well most of the time. If you do defeat her, proceed to step three.






Respect for the Dead: When a fairy faction loses its leader, all the other members of the faction will go into a state of panic. They will drop what they were doing and flee from whoever managed to slay their queen. If you try to follow them, you'll only be adding fuel to the fire. You need to leave them alone for a little while to get over their loss. It usually takes about thirty seconds for them to stop crying. Once they do, you can proceed to step four.

She Won't Stop Crying! Make sure to stay out of sight. If you get too far away from them, it's possible they might despawn naturally. Stay about 16 blocks away and count to thirty. You'll know that they've calmed down once you stop seeing blue tears above their heads.

Taking it Like a Man: A queen, unlike the other fairies, doesn't cry when her faction has been defeated. Well, technically she's crying on the inside. But she's got too much pride to show any tears. Instead, you'll have to wait for her to stop pouting, which will take even longer... up to a whole minute. Once that's over with, you can proceed to step four.






Worked up an Appetite: Once a fairy calms down, she's going to be bit confused. Without a leader, fairies lose all common sense and can't figure out what to do. At this point, it should be easy to recruit them if you can convince them you're a worthy leader. And what better way to do that than offering them a nice healthy snack?
Just choose sweet treat from this list of goodies:






And right-click your fairy. She'll accept the treat, and she will officially become your follower! She is name-bound, so she will only follow you and not any other players. Her name will appear above her head, and she'll also put on a flower hat to show her trust in humans. Congratulations, you just tamed yourself a fairy! You can have an unlimited number of followers, so to tame additional fairies, just rinse and repeat. To find out what you can do with your new companion, see the next section.



Abilities: Making use of your fairies

So now you've got a fairy companion or two. What can you do with them? Well, quite a lot, to be honest. This is a heavily AI-centered mod, so what did you expect? Here's a list of the various things you can do with your flying friends. Keep in mind that these abilities only apply to fairies you have already tamed.

Identifying a fairy: A fairy that is yours will have red @ symbols around its name. Tamed fairies will not despawn.

Travelling with a fairy: A fairy will automatically follow you wherever you go. If you get too far, the fairy may take a little while to catch up to you.

Flying with a fairy: Right-click a fairy with an empty hand to make her grab your head. Hold jump key to fly up several blocks. Flight is not infinite. Scouts fly you higher.

Healing a fairy: A fairy's eyes get paler as they lose health. Right click a fairy while holding one of the taming items (shown above) to heal her fully. Sugar only heals partially.

Making a fairy stop flying: Right click a fairy on your head to make her dismount. Hold shift and right-click a flying fairy to make her land. Fairies can't fly under low ceilings.

Making a fairy sit still: Hold shift and right-click a fairy while she is on the ground to make her sit. While sitting she will stay still unless she is attacked by an enemy.

Reading a fairy's emotions: If you see tears, she's either afraid of someone or upset. If you see smoke above her head, she's angry at something. Queens don't cry, they have smoke instead.

Getting a fairy to heal you: If you have a medic fairy following you and your health is low, she will automatically use recovery potions on you and your other fairy followers.

Getting a fairy to fight for you: If you have a guard fairy or a queen fairy with you, they will pursue and attack hostile monsters that are following you (except for creepers).

Protecting your fairy: Fairies that you own cannot be damaged by your hands or weapons. Fairies on your head are immune to all damage. Fairies will try to defend themselves against attackers.

Disbanding a fairy: There are certain things in minecraft that fairies find very offensive. To make a fairy leave your party, right click her with one of the following items:

She will run away crying and become untamed. She can be re-tamed again afterwards.

Forcibly spawning a fairy: Use the purple-and-pink egg in creative mode. You can't spawn queens with these.

Making fairies teleport: Fairies can teleport to you like wolves, but only if you have an ender eye or an ender pearl in your inventory.

Other uses for a fairy: Fairies drop glowstone powder when they die.

Stealing a fairy: You can tame another player's fairy as long as that fairy is not a queen type. The player will be notified of this if they are online.

Renaming a fairy: Right click a fairy that you own with paper while she is sitting. Leave blank for her default name. Queens always have a prefix.

To make something funny happen: Name a fairy "Steve".

To change a fairy's hair style: Right-click her with a pair of shears.

More abilities and AI features will be added in later updates.


It's been a long time coming, and a lot of things have been added! The colonization update brings a lot of new features related to making your fairy society more organized and productive. If you want to hear about the new fairy class, go back up to the classes section. Other minor little details have been listed in the abilities section. What I'll list below are the details about the biggest additions: the withering disease, the post system and the job system.


The Withering Disease: Why fairies can't be miners.


The withering disease is an illness that affects fairies due to lack of sunlight. Fairies need a constant source of light in order to be healthy, and when shrouded in complete darkness for a long time, something very bad happens to them. They develop a serious condition called withering. It makes their skin and hair turn greyish and pale, and it makes puffs of green smoke come out of their bodies. It also decreases their flight duration. Most importantly, as long as a fairy has the withering disease, their health will be constantly draining until it sits at just half a heart, meaning almost any hit will kill them instantly. It's important to try to avoid this if possible, which can simply be done by keeping them in well lit areas. Now, to clarify:

A fairy will only become withered: If she remains in complete darkness for a total of one minute. Moonlight counts as light. So do dim lights such as redstone torches.

To cure the withering disease: Simply expose the fairy to direct sunlight, or feed them a speckled melon slice.



The Post System: Designate an area for your fairies.






What's a post for? A lot of things! It's basically a label which designates an area for a fairy to stay near. You can use posts to mark a fairy's house, set up a guard position, or even declare a work site. In order to set up a post, just follow these steps:

1 - Have a tamed fairy with you that you own.

2 - Place a sign down on the ground and put the fairy's name somewhere on it, all on one line. It's also case sensitive.

3 - If you want the fairy to roam further from the sign, type ~f somewhere on the sign.

4 - Stand right next to the sign with your fairy and wait. When your fairy's red @ symbols become green @, your fairy is assigned to the post.

Now that the fairy is at the post, she will stop following you. She'll stay in that general area, and try to stay within 6 blocks of the post at all times. If you included the "~f" tag, she'll roam further, as far as 12 blocks. The fairies will roam outside of this range sometimes, but they'll generally always come back if they can find a way back. Also keep in mind that if a fairy is sitting down, she will not move, even if she is at a post. As an added bonus, fairies assigned to posts cannot be stolen by other players. Multiple fairies can be assigned to the same post.

To un-assign a fairy from a post: Either make it ride on your head, or break the sign.

The most important reason for the post system, however, is the job system:



The Job System: Get your fairies to do some work for you.






Ah, the job system. This is what you guys all really wanted to see! Yes, it's true, your fairies can now be used as a cheap source of labour for various repetitive jobs. All you have to do is assign your fairies to a post, and then put a chest nearby with items for them to use. Currently, fairies can handle six different kinds of tasks: farming wheat, melons and pumpkins, harvesting wood, harvesting reeds, breeding livestock, collecting wool, and fishing. However, each of these tasks requires a certain setup, which will be explained by the following:

How does this stuff work? Fairies, unlike the player, have no inventory for holding items. Instead, fairies use chests to hold their items and equipment. Whenever a fairy uses an item, the item is used directly from the chest itself. Fairies must be within 6 horizontal blocks and no more than 1 vertical block of the chest in order to access it. Fairy jobs are context sensitive, so fairies will do different things depending on what items are present. Here's a complete and comprehensive list of what fairies can currently do:

- pick up certain items from the ground and place them into nearby chests.
- use hoes to create farmland from dirt or grass
- plant wheat, pumpkin, or melon seeds on farmland blocks
- place reed blocks near the water where they will grow.
- destroy wild grass blocks for seeds
- harvest fully grown wheat plants for seeds and wheat
- harvest melons and pumpkins
- harvest reed plants at least 2 blocks tall
- use axes to cut down trees
- passively destroy nearby leaf blocks if an axe is in the chest
- pick up fallen log blocks and saplings
- plant saplings in appropriate areas where they will grow
- give wheat to animals (for breeding) if they are ready to mate and a pair is present
- shear sheep that have wool on them
- go fishing using fishing rods in nearby chests
- collect the fish they catch
- pick up edible food on the ground (must correspond to their preferences)
- eat food to recover health if they are hurt

No fairy has any specific job. Jobs are defined by what is in the chest. But there are four specific jobs that the fairies are most suitable for, which will be listed below:




At a farm, fairies will hoe the ground, plant seeds, and harvest the fully grown wheat/pumpkins/melons. Just leave them for a while and they'll eventually fill out their plot, producing hundreds of wheat and seeds over the span of a few hours. They can also harvest pumpkins for whatever reason, and melon slices which they can eat if they get hungry.

What you need to do:
- pick out a flat area for the farm to be in.
- put down a post, and put a chest directly next to the post.
- make little water sources around the farm with appropriate spacing, like above.
- get some workers on the farm: the more, the better.
- make sure the workers don't run out of hoes. one iron hoe should last a typical farm a very long time.
- keep in mind that melons and pumpkins need space to grow next to a vine: the fairies are aware of this.

What you need to Provide:
- hoes. the more the better.
- seeds. again the more the better. fairies can get more seeds by cutting down wild grass.
- (optional) bonemeal. fairies can use bonemeal to insta-grow plants.




Forestry workers will plant trees, chop them down when they're grown, collect the logs and saplings that fall, and start again. Fairies have a clever ability: when they use their axes to cut down a tree, it eliminates every log block in the tree (usually) in a single swipe. However, for every log that the tree has, the axe gets damaged that much. With a forest operation set up, fairies will infinitely harvest log blocks until their chest fills up or until they run out of axes. If you want, fairies can even be used to take down a giant jungle tree - just remember to use a sturdy axe.

What you need to do:
- pick out a flat area for the forest to be in.
- put down a post, and put a chest directly next to the post.
- get some workers on the forest: the more, the better.
- make sure the workers don't run out of axes. one iron axe should last a typical forest operation a very long time.
- keep in mind that larger trees take will do more damage to the axes being used.
- do not set up a forestry station near a wooden house. if a tree connects to a log house, the fairy's tree cutting algorithm may cause them to destroy part of the house.

What you need to Provide:
- axes. the more the better.
- a handful of saplings, or one tree to get saplings from.




Reed farms are a little different because no hoes are required, meaning that a reed farm needs no maintenance whatsoever and you can generate an infinite amount of reeds over time without having to check back in. What you may run out of is chest space, though that's generally a good thing. With a reed farm you can generate tons of paper that you can use to give all your fairies custom names! Or you can use the generated sugar to feed and tame more fairies! It's a dual-purpose farm.

What you need to do:
- pick out an area near lots of water for the farm to be in.
- make sure that the shore is composed of sand, grass, and/or dirt.
- put down a post, and put a chest directly next to the post.
- get some workers on the farm: the more, the better.
- make sure that there's no ceiling so the plants can grow high.
- make sure none of your fairies are named "Floppy-butt" because that name is terrible.

What you need to Provide:
- just some reeds to start with. fairies will plant more as they make more.




Animal breeding facilities are meant for the obvious: breeding animals. Starting out with a small amount of animals, ending up with a large amount. Fairies can manage an animal breeding facility all by themselves, giving wheat to animals when they are ready to breed. The animals that they can currently breed are pigs, sheep, cows, chickens, and mooshrooms. Support for ocelots and wolves will come later. As long as there is wheat in the chest, the fairy will continue to breed animals. All the rules for regular breeding by the player still apply. If left for a while, the room will become overpopulated and bursting with animals. It's your job to figure out what to do when it gets to that point.

A smart idea is to build a small farm outside of the breeding facility, and make the farmer and the breeder share the same chest. This will ensure a steady supply of wheat.

What you need to do:
- build a small room that is secure so the animals and the fairy can't get in and out. the room should be small, 5x5 to 7x7 is good.
- put down a post somewhere, and put a chest near that post.
- get a fairy worker in there. one is usually enough for a small room.
- get some animals up in there. at least two of the same type.
- figure out how much wheat you need. remember that two wheat is needed to produce one animal.
- figure out what to do with the horde of livestock you're about to unleash.
- keep in mind that fairies can easily fly over short walls. make a roof on your building.

What you need to Provide:
- wheat. just wheat.




Sheep shearing is a lot like animal breeding, except you're producing cloth blocks instead of more animals. There's also a bit of a twist to it. Sheep don't regrow their wool over time. Instead, the replenish it by eating grass. So you have to make sure that there is a source of replenishable grass nearby. After a while you'll notice that you have a lot of cloth blocks in the chest. That's a good thing, it means the shearing facility is working. Also remember that you can color your sheep and get them to produce colored wool.

It's a good idea to combine a breeding facility with a shearing facility by just putting wheat and shears in the same chest.

What you need to do:
- build a small room that is secure so the animals and the fairy can't get in and out. the room should be small, 5x5 to 7x7 is good.
- put down a post somewhere, and put a chest near that post.
- get a fairy worker in there. one is usually enough for a small room.
- get some sheep. the more the better.
- figure out what to do with all the wool you'll be making over time.

What you need to Provide:
- shears. they do wear out so provide a bunch.
- a source of grass that will regrow itself. expose it to sunlight and stuff. and make sure it does grow back.




It cannot be denied that when you take cute things and give them fishing rods, they become even more cute. This is one of the laws of the universe. A fishing fairy is more than just cute however, they are quite useful. They can reel in a lot of fish, and will catch one almost every time they cast out. They use their rods in reel-time, waiting for the lure to bob, just like players do. Their rods won't catch anything other than fish though, so you don't need to worry about being hit by them. Another thing to note: they sit down while fishing.

What you need to do:
- pick out a nice flat fishing spot, in an area like the one above.
- put down a post somewhere, and put a chest near that post.
- get some fairies to go fishing. two or three is good.
- figure out what to do with all the fish you'll be getting.

What you need to Provide:
- fishing rods. they do wear out so provide a bunch.
- a large supply of beer.




Future Additions: The two remaining major updates



The ARENA Update:
Inspired by the popularity of Clay Soldiers arena battles, this mode will allow players to stage mob fights for entertainment purposes.
- Configurable "politics mode" - makes wild or user-created fairy factions fight each other naturally.
- Fights will be to the death, instead of just until the queen is dead.
- Server commands for spawning a user-specified custom faction with ease (with a custom name, maybe?)
- Configurable team-colored hair and outfits to better tell factions apart.
- Configurable setting to make all fairies brave so they won't run away from battles.
- Scout AI of wild facions will be updated so they can inform their faction of nearby enemies.
- Medics will be forced to duke it out if they are the only ones remaining.

The WAR Update:
This update is mostly server based, adding PVP options. But it also adds a mount. So it's a bit of an oddball.
- Server commands will allow players to declare each other as Enemies, Allies or Neutral(default).
- A fairy will attack an enemy player or a follower of an enemy player on sight. A war won't stop until peace is declared by both players.
- Players won't be able to hurt allied fairies, or take them, or get them to follow, but will be able to heal them.
- ALSO Adds a mount to the game. It will be too small for the player to ride but fairies can ride it. It will be a surprise.


Other Things for future updates:
- Two more secret classes, each will be added in a separate update.
- Crying noises and more sound effects.
- Configuration/Options: Change spawn limits, enable/disable fairy stealing, spawn specific fairies using commands, turning messages on and off, etc.
- Maybe, possibly, fairy reproduction...? Not until WAY later.

Things that will NOT be added:
- Making the player become a fairy.
- Controlling fairies remotely.
- fairy miners, and here's why.








Information: What you need to know

Compatibility Info:

- This mod is made for Minecraft client 1.2.5 and server 1.2.5. It is made for ModLoader with Forge.

- It currently has no known incompatibilities or issues with other existing mods.

- It is not currently made to work with bukkit servers (though it may eventually if someone assists me with that).

- Entity ID 65 is used for the fairies, and Entity ID 64 is used for their fishing hooks. No item IDs or block IDs are used.

- Fairies are considered by the game to be EntityAnimals, but all breeding functionality has been disabled (for the moment).


Client Installation:

YOU MUST INSTALL THE CLIENT VERSION TO PLAY ON FAIRY-ENABLED SERVERS.

Step 1: Make sure you have Risugami's ModLoader installed. It can be found on this page. Many other mods use ModLoader as well. Several tutorials exist to help you with installing it.

Step 2: Install Risugami's AudioMod using basically the same method you used to install ModLoader. It can be found on the same page.

Step 3: Install the client version of LexManos' Forge. It can be found here. You still need to have this installed even if you are not going to be playing on servers. Again, just like ModLoader.

Step 4: Download the client version of the fairy mod from one of the links below - your choice. Extract the files from the rar archive. (the mod won't work if you just drag the downloaded file into your mods folder)

Step 5: Take the folder titled "mod" and copy-paste it into .minecraft/resources. If you do this wrong you won't be able to hear any fairy voices.

Step 6: Take the zip file named "fairymod.zip" and copy-paste it into .minecraft/mods. If you don't have a "mods" folder, make a new one. Alternately, you can extract the contents of "fairymod.zip" and move them into minecraft.jar using an archive utility.

And now you're done! You should be able to start playing the mod in single-player or multi-player mode.



Server Installation:

(Only required if you want to host a fairy-enabled server)
You have to enable flying in the properties or players may get kicked randomly.

Step 1: Install the server version of LexManos' Forge. It can be found here. Remember that these files go into your server jar, not your client jar.

Step 2: Download the server version of the fairy mod from one of the links below. Extract the files from the zip.

Step 3: Move the extracted files into your server jar using an archive manager such as WinRAR or 7-zip.

And now you're done! The mod should show up in your server console when you start it up.
