posted a message on Mojang, Husks and Strays are a bad idea.

Biome specific mobs are really nice. If they execute this correctly they could make different mobs for every other biome, maybe that'll happen for 1.14?

posted a message on Iron Golems Spawning Outside Iron Farm

If golems were spawning beneath your farm, you have doors somewhere outside the farm that are merged with the farm village, or the doors in your farm are placed wrong, or you have solid blocks too close to that farm design.

The NimsTV iron farm is smaller than the golem spawn area, so you cannot have any solid blocks within 5 blocks distance of any side of the farm (golems will spawn outside the trap, which could then drop down below).

There are no changes to 1.13 that should affect properly designed iron farms. My Unbreakable Iron Farm is chugging along just fine in 1.13 (still mercilessly murdering the noble village protectors to satiate by desire for more iron). As is the underground iron farm I have in another world.

Ok then, I realized now that I built it near me and my friends homes. So I might replace the wooden doors with iron doors. Will they count as doors to the farm?

posted a message on Iron Golems Spawning Outside Iron Farm

Hey i just want to let you know that this version of iron golem farm , its very old one. I remember this was made for 1.11 or 1.10 because i built this a very long time ago and it worked. But since 1.13 is out probably things changed so you must make a new farm and for 1.13.

Nah I fixed it. Just made another platform where the iron golems are spawning beneath my farm and modified it a bit so it works again.

Wasn't that bug fixed in 1.13 or was it fixed in the snapshot for 1.13.1? Because I remember it saying it was for the last snapshot before the pre-release version.

Increase the allocated amount of RAM.

I'm just gonna pay for a different server since 1gb for my host is 5 dollars, and I found another one where 1gb is 3 dollars.

try removing the world called "world", if not, paste a plugins list, its possible that one of your plugins are very sensitive to the new version.

I don't use plugins. Also if I remove the world called world then it wouldn't even load up. Plus its a survival world with my friends so it would erase all my progress

posted a message on Slime Farm barely working.

What version, and how did you locate the slime chunks?

    1.12.2

I used chunkbase to locate the slime chunk.

    Quote from aulrone»

Also, make sure you're not too close to the farm or slimes wont spawn. Distance is a key factor. 26-32 is the ideal distance.

    I'd say I'm 64 blocks away or 36.

posted a message on Slime Farm barely working.

Is your slime farm built below Y40?

If the surrounding area has not been spawn blocked your slime farm will be slow.

Also, if you are observing from where that screenshot was taken, then you have less than 1 slime chunk available for spawning. No hostile mobs will spawn within 24 blocks of a player, so standing that close to your 2 slime chunks eliminates more than half of the spawn space.

And I'm pretty sure torches have no effect on spawning slimes, but Jack-O'Lanterns are fine as well.

My slime farm is built at Y = 30

The surrounding area is spawn blocked, but I might have to go back to make sure.

I only went there to take the screen shots for the post. I don't go near the slime chunk.

How many players were on at the time? Did you light up all the caves in a 128 block radius around the farm? What's the servers render distance? Did you ask server staff for help?

1, My 2 friends and I play on this server. Yea I did. 10 Chunks. There is no server staff since my friend hosts it.

posted a message on Slime Farm barely working.

So I made a Slime Farm recently when I saw I had 2 slime chunks next to eachother, and I noticed that barely any slimes are spawning. On the ground I used Jack O Lanterns since from what I've read, torches on the ground interfere with the spawns, so I removed them and placed Jack O Lanterns all in the floor (As shown in the first image). The slime farm is based on a Slime Farm that Mumbo Jumbo made in Hermitcraft. The second image shows how the Slimes are gonna die, They get pushed into the Cacti and the slime balls fall into the hopper and go into an item elevator. Have I done anything wrong with my Slime Farm? Also, Slimes have spawned. It was only 1 big slime though.
Edit: Had to edit pictures because it shown the IP to the server and I dont want people joining.

posted a message on Which 'infinite' item is most useful for you?

For me its a tie between the Bow and Elytra. I use the Elytra the most in the game and the Bow is probably the weapon I would use the most if I didn't have to worry about durability and arrows, but if I had to choose one it was be the Elytra.

What wasn't mentioned is WHERE the farms are.
If the farms are in the spawn chunks and at least one player is logged in, then the farms will continue to produce.

In the ONLY server I play on, a vanilla 1.12.2 server, I built an iron farm in the spawn chunks.
It chugs away producing iron ingots as long as there is a player active anywhere in the world.

I've had to add a double chest near the collection chest to store stacks of blocks of iron ingots.

And that's after everyone had gotten all the iron they want/need.

I never thought to mention that. The farms are built in 2 different chunks at least 50 blocks away.

    1. If there is no one on the server and the server is down, no.

    2. The farms will only work if a player has the chunks loaded, so if there is no player in the area, the chunks will be unloaded and the farms will not function.

Alright, thanks. Guess I'll afk near the farms then.
