Anything with Auram in it other than the essence or vishrooms? Those are a pain to come by, even with an Eldritch area right next to my house.

    Quote from MentalMouse42»

So, I'm now about ready to start setting up my distillery and infusion setups. How hazardous are the more advanced players finding these? Is it worth setting up a distant base in case they become tainted? (Unfortunately, my animal farms are currently on the inland side of my base -- I do have some desert on the other side.) And how much crafting/recharging/shard mining does it really take to start risking taint? I've got a fair bit of crafting to do for the distillery and infusion setup. I also need to get some tainted shards for the advanced equipment, but I do have a couple of taint zones nearby. Wondering how rough mining into the tainted area will be, too.

I've currently got a sole silverwood sapling, I'm thinking about planting that next to a secondary base for my distillery and infusion altar, and hoping for saplings to protect my base. Am I being too paranoid here? (My big lack so far is no slimeballs at all. I'm also out of diamonds for the moment, but no slimeballs means no labels....)

And those totems... If I pull vis from surrounding chunks, isn't that likely to produce a ring of taint (or vulnerable space) around the concentrated area?

Judging my experiences in Thaumcraft 4, you are taking it a bit too far. From what I've seen in TC4, the only thing was a bit of flux flu and some flux gas flying, but other than that, it's fine. If you really want to feel safe, though, go ahead and plant that sapling.

The Eldritch tab only unlocks with high levels of warp, right..?

    Here's what happened right before:

I was at diamond level and my Iron Pick broke. So then I went to NEI and thought to myself, "I'll spawn one in and sacrifice the resources later." So, I spawned it in. I was mining next to lava and found redstone ore. After clicking on it, the game shut down and spit that nasty crash report out. Now, I don't know how to read these, but I can assume it was NEI...

Here are the mods I'm using:

    Damage Indicators 3.3.2

    Code Chicken Core 1.0.5.34

    Inventory Tweaks 1.59

    NEI 1.0.5.82

    Thaumcraft 5.0.3

    Thaumic Tinkerer 3.0

    Xaero's Minimap 1.7.2

    Any help?

OH yeah, and there's also this weird lighting going on. Whenever I hover over a mob, it's as if I were using night vision. Also, chests disappear sometimes, but are still there. It doesn't render correctly..?

Are there any addons for TC5 other than Thaumic Tinkerer? It's getting lonely on the other side of the Thaumonomicon...

posted a message on Combat System Overhaul(?)

And here is yet another idea from me.. within a matter of a few minutes. This is another idea I've had in my mind for awhile, but I just got to posting it now. The current combat system is pretty simple, left-click to slash, right-click to block. However, I had the idea of:

Left-Click (x3) - Does the basic slash, another slash, and an uppercut slash, adding variety, refreshing animations, and a useful tool to Minecraft. The third hit would knock the enemy back. This is useful for escaping.

Left-Click (Hold) - This charges up the slash, bringing your sword/weapon upward. When released, you'll slash down, doing 1.25x damage.

Right-Click (Press) - A simple click will move the sword into the block position, then push outward, to push the enemy away.

Right-Click (Hold) - The simple MC block.

Left+Right (Press) - A stabbing motion that would act well as a variation to the current strikes. It could also act as a kind of finisher move.

I was thinking that this combat system would be a new button entirely, so if you wanted to chop wood with an axe, then use it to kill a zombie, they wouldn't mix. Possibly the C key which stands for "Combat"? Anyways, damage values would also change. Here's another idea to let you guys think about.

I like the idea, however how would the system filter what is Minecraft and what isn't? Little support currently.

posted a message on Connected Fences/Walls

Hello! So, usually fences will connect to the next block it can. However, this can be really bad for building, as the fences would connect to a block next to it that's just used for aesthetics. So, basically, you can place a fence, and right-click the blocks next to it that you want to connect it to. The same would apply to walls. I feel that this is a pretty big thing for builders. For instance, if one were making a stable with horses and hay, they would feel the need to place the hay next to the fence, just to give the place more room. However, from behind, you can see that the hay is connected to the fence.

Shift-Right-click (When placing) will connect every side it can to a fence/block.

This is a wishlist. Wishlists are not allowed on the forums.

Also, I don't think a scuba diving set is fitting in minecraft. It is way to advanced.

Wishlists, suggestions, they're kind of similar. I could see this turning into a wishlist, but some of these changes could actually prove useful inside the game.

posted a message on [Suggestion] Sand Changes and Other Various Items I Had In Mind...

Alright, hello.. Here's my newest post in awhile.

So we have sand, and glass. That's nice. BUUTTT... I was thinking something more along the lines of this:

When sand breaks, it will give 4 "Sand Piles (or Lumps, whichever one you prefer)". The Sand Piles/Lumps can be smelted to make Glass Panes (one for each pile). These four piles can be combined to make a regular Sand block, just like Clay.

Glass Pane recipes change to a 2x2 square in the crafting table of glass for 16, since math I did.

Add in candles. We all like candles. I guess. Who doesn't?

Scuba Diving Set. This can be used to breathe underwater for a longer amount of time. Crafted in the shape of normal armor sets, but with Prismarine instead. However, in the middle, a Sea Lantern must be placed.

Enchantments will apply to the scuba gear. However, a special enchantment, called Fish Breath, will allow infinite time underwater.

Aaannnd that concludes this. Tah dah!
