Trying to setup a minecraft server for my kids to use, running on Vista, firewall is open. I can connect from other machines on the network directly to the port:
tcp -
[user@whackjob-reloaded dev]$ nc -zv 192.168.2.102 25565
Ncat: Version 7.40 ( https://nmap.org/ncat )
Ncat: Connected to 192.168.2.102:25565.
Ncat: 0 bytes sent, 0 bytes received in 0.03 seconds.
udp -
[user@whackjob-reloaded dev]$ nc -zvu 192.168.2.102 25565
Ncat: Version 7.40 ( https://nmap.org/ncat )
Ncat: Connected to 192.168.2.102:25565.
Ncat: UDP packet sent successfully
Ncat: 1 bytes sent, 0 bytes received in 2.07 seconds.
but when I go to connect using the PE client it says its can't load the world. "Sycing pack with server" turns into "unable to connect to world"
server is the latest jar, 1.18. Fresh install of the JRE to run it all. Guessing there's some simple thing, perhaps in server.properties, to make the world able to be connected to by others on the LAN that I've missed?

Thanks Herb, greatly appreciated!

Guess that explains that. Is there another version of the server for windows that the PE client can connect to, or am I SOL?
Thanks!
