posted a message on Hay Blocks
This is very simmilar to antother topic I posted. However I thought that wheat blocks (what I called them) could also be used to breed animals automatically if they are left with it. Also it could be right clicked with either seeds or carrots, in order to feed either chickens, pigs, or if it was not right clicked, cows and sheep. Also this has a huge asthetic purpose because it would look like thatch if used on a roof. I fully support your idea (+1).
p.s. I guess great minds think alike...

posted a message on Redstone Timers
I think that a redstone timer block should be added. It would work like the timer in the Redpower mod, however it would have less options for timer delay; a 2 tick delay, to a 16 tick delay should work. I think it should be crafted using 4 repeaters, 4 redstone dust, and 1 smooth stone; with the redstone dust in each of the four corners of the crafting grid, the repeaters inbetween them, and the smooth stone in the center of the grid. It would output on three sides , and intput on one. When right clicked it would open a GUI that allowes you to set the delay between pulses and the pulse length for the output. It would output a redstone signal when unpowered based on the values you set. I don't know exctly how long the maximum pulse length should be, but I was thinking around 4 or 8 ticks; however, I am open to suggestions. When powered it would not output any redstone signal, but it would still function as a timer itself, so that if it becomes unpowered again it would resume outputing as if it had not been powered (the delays you set are still working, when powered the timer does not "pause" instead it behaves as if the outputs were simply locked). Unfourtunatly, I just had this idea so I don't have a picture of what it could look like at the moment, but I think that a design with four connected repeaters that looks like a standard clock would be a nice design.

posted a message on Bring back Giants!
I think that this would be hard to implement because of the giant's foot. Because the foot is supposedly larger than one block, how would it deal with uneven terrain. If the giant is standing half on and half off of a huge drop, like a ravine, then I think that it would look incredibly strange. I can deal with the way mobs that are currently in-game do this because there is only one half to one block that they overhang; someting like 4 or 5 blocks seems a little too mutch to me.

Maybe if you right clicked a bundled hay bale with seeds/carrots you "attach" them to it making chickens or pigs feed off of it. As for the experience problem; if you take the easy way and do something automatically then why should you get xp for it (the animals would still drop the orbs, but if you are not there to collect them then they despawn)

    I was thinking more

    :////: :////: :////:
    :////: :////: :////: = :wood: (Hay bale)
    :////: :////: :////:

    and then

    :wood: :wood: :wood:
    ~ :wood: ~ = :Logs^: (Bundled hay bale)
    :wood: :wood: :wood:

    :////: =Wheat
    ~ =string

Exactly. In fact these could probably be named "Hay bale" and "Bundled hay bale" if the animal breeding idea is implemented...

Well if the blocks could be subsiquently crafted into a larger, bundeled block, then the thatch/wheat block idea remains intact. Also if you set them next to a group of animals (like in a closed pasture or grazing field) then the animals will automatically come over to it and eat it as if it were you giving them wheat, allowing animals to automatically breed. The block of course would have a limited number of uses, thus the bundled block makes sense, because it would have more uses.

I think that wheat blocks should be added to the game to store wheat (like an ore block). Also, this block would be able to be used as thatch for your roof instead of oak.
