Get better internet and find friends with better internet. I've never had any connectivity problems playing with friends except when Ireland was having a thunderstorm. This isn't technically 4J's problem. Should they have dedicated servers? Absolutely. Do they have to provide them? Nope. When you purchased the software you essentially agreed to the ToS and bought a license to use their product as is.

"Drowned" because of downward flows and drowning damage. The first and only time this ever happened to me, I was like, "really? wow.". Oddly enough, it's one of the easiest deaths to avoid as long as you don't panic and keep torches in your quick bar. Set a torch on a wall underwater and it'll create an air bubble long enough to get all your breath back.

Thanks guys. I didnt know they could break.

How to I guarantee a looting enchantment? All I have been able to get is Projectile Protetction, and Protection. (Various levels)

Also, do they float? or do you loose them in the trees and water?

You save before you enchant and keep reloading until you get looting 3.

Looks like you don't understand P2P connections. Right now, there are no dedicated servers so we're going off of peer-to-peer connections, which almost invariably suck. The only fault of 4J here is that there are no dedicated servers, it technically isn't a problem of the game.

Hurr durr you're supposed to save before you turn your PS3 off, this isn't PC minecraft and there are no "servers". You're inviting people to play on your PS3 with your save file or you're playing with someone else on their save file.

No but I would think a switchback setup with sticky pistons and pressure plates would work. Use your imagination.

    Edit: Nevermind, that's just stairs.

Not only are they not working for many legitimate players such as myself and a friend of mine (they absolutely refuse to update with new information, all my distance traveled has been stuck at the same values for over a month now), but now they're starting to fill up with hackers. People who've apparently travelled 3638090km (that's almost four million!) on foot, fell the same distance, traveled over minecart the same distance, etc. They're clearly hackers. Do something about it, or get rid of the feature altogether because it isn't working as intended.

If this needs to be moved to suggestions, so be it. I just want it known that the feature is broken.

posted a message on Discussion: Pros and Cons. PC vs. PS3
    Quote from Prosperus

Wow.....KissyKaede sounds like she should be a PR person for the PC version. We get it. The PC is a billion times infinity better. And according to you, because of its infinite size. I started this thread because I wanted to know peoples opinions on what they like the best, and what they hate about both versions. Obviously size is going to be one of them. I love the console version. If anything, its a starter and warm up for the PC. Will it be totally, and utterly different? Yes. Will I have to re-learn how to play the game? Most definitely. But who says that my gameplay experience through console is any less then yours?

Rant over, so can we please go back to having an educated and adult discussion about this? Or will this have to be flagged for deletion?

It's not ranting, I'm simply stating that we're running on a version a year or so behind the main version, and expressing my views on some of the broken mechanics that haven't been patched yet. Isn't that what this thread is for? Showing the pros and cons of pc vs PS3 minecraft? I've stated the pros and cons and looks like you can't deal with it.

I have 20 free GB and the expansion would be optional
the whole ocean kick would be for the console to unload and load for it to be able to run.
    Work around limitations
    Break barriers
    Such as that invisible wall

I'm not sure you understand filesize limitations. The bigger the save file size, the harder the system has to work to load it.

    This is what i see.
    The invisible wall disappears.
A vast epic ocean lies before you.
There is nothing but sky as far as you can see.
The sea floor is unreachable but you go on in a sense of adventure
You go on and on til your world behind you disappears completely
    You head on
    The music stopped
    Keep going til finally
    You see a new world
    -end-
    -developer side of things-
when the player reaches far enough in this ocean unload the world that the player just came from and load the next world.
the first time the player tries she would be warned that expanding the world would double the size of the save file and disable multiplayer possibilities.
-end long typing on a PS3 controller session-

...and the entire reason we can't have bigger worlds is because the file size is limited due to console limitations.

This definitely is a great idea. A friend and I already do something similar

I'm with you here. My friend and I treat each new save like a new continent. Implementing this would make it seamless, and we would keep our items. It doesn't seem impractical on the PS3, but I'm not sure

Doing this would be the safest bet. You would create a portal that links you to a new overworld. It can be treated like the Nether or the End essentially. I support!

Treating it like the nether or end would still increase the save file size, unfortunately. I can't really think of a way that you could link two different save files unless they compiled the data in a completely different way. I don't think it would work.

No support for more "wepons". However, I'd like to see usable shields and/or dual-wielding as well as castable spells. We have armor, why not shields? With shields, magic, and dual-wielding, there could even be a class system. Spells could include damaging ones, heals, and buffs. I know there are splash potions, but magic would be killer too. Why the hell not?

But we don't really need more weapons. Not for the fighting mechanics currently in place. It'd serve no purpose at all.

How did you get those? They don't show up as DLC.

Also I don't care about getting skins based on existing trademarked characters. I want to see some originality from 4J. The Christmas ones were funny.
