I love this idea. The unique attack it has puts it right up there with the "Oh ****"-ness of creepers and endermen, because having mobs that just bump into you to hurt you gets kinda boring after awhile.
True enough. But the item you get for finishing it off would need to be as epic as the chance to tame it and fly it... A super item... I'm kind of thinking a dragon egg... But that wouldn't make much sense, and it would essentially make the choice very pointless.
However you could do that; the egg needs to be tended for in a furnace, using a bucket of lava. Once it has all been consumed, a baby dragon could emerge from the furnace :laugh.gif:
It could be an evil dragon! :biggrin.gif:
If you kill it, you get a tamed Hell/Nether Dragon, but if you heal it you get a Sky/Aether Dragon. Each would have their own special abilities.
And if you manage to get one of each and you breed them...
I like that idea, but not the "1 per world" bit. They tried that with the strongholds already, and everyone demanded more. Maybe if there was a dragon in each stronghold, somewhere. Maybe contained in a large chamber at the deepest point of one...
Good point, but at the same time that would kind of take away the significance of the choice you make. Maybe if there was only one in higher difficulties?

I like this idea, rather than the flesh blocks.
Also, I just found out there is a cap on the +1's you can give out :/

You'd have to fight the dragon to weaken it, and then you have the choice of either:
killing it and getting some super-awesome-holy-crap-amazing treasure item,or you could give it a crap load of healing potions and it would become tame (and flyable). And for added fun, there'd be only one dragon per world. What do you think?
