Maybe I misunderstood but you're moving away to be a dishwasher? No offense as I'm sure you could do better but just seems a bit strange to move so far for tbh a mediocre job. Is this some sort special dishwashing job?
Anyway nope I don't live in alaska and I've never moved so far.

It's for the rail lines and Princess Cruises that's based out of Anchorage. I'd be traveling half the time while I'm up there. :)

    Don't worry, bro.
I LIVE in Alaska right now.
It's not too cold (Well, it's uber cold in winter, around -40 to -60F),
    My family drove here.
And you probably won't see a bear. Ever. I've only seen about 3 and I've lived here for almost 6 years.

k, I'll be there during the summer so I should be fine... bears I can see any time at the zoo.

    Is there anything that's hard to find there? I know I'm stocking up on my local coffee before I go. ;_;

I got a job at Holland America on the rail lines as a dishwasher. I've also never moved before in my life, much less been 2300 miles away from home or lived by myself.

Have you ever made a big jump? Any tips for moving when you don't have a car/going by plane or boat? Is there any tips you have for living in Alaska in general?

INB4 be careful of bears/it's cold.

Yesterday I spent the ENTIRE day at my friend's house playing Minecraft.

I blame his couch for sucking me into a pixely haze.

    Quote from Anon135

I'd recomend either the Technic Pack, or Better than Wolves.
Both add alot to the games and mostly have quality content.
The best part of the Technic is that it's now it's own launcher so you can have both a modded normal minecraft, and then with the technic launcher, a vanilla minecraft and the technic pack minecraft

    This.

Technic pack adds a lot to the game without really taking much out of it. It gives you lots of blocks, lots of new tools and new animals to interact with. The separate launcher keeps your vanilla minecraft safe. The only downside is trying to find texture packs that are compatible, but I haven't really had a problem using the 'vanilla' version of Technic.

My favorite texture packs are Doku Dark x32, and PureBD Craft x32. The first one is rather dark and very fantasy like, giving you deeper textures while PureBD is a bit more animated in feeling, but all around fun.

And then of course, I couldn't forget Glimmar's Steampunk. <3

Interesting idea... It'd be awesome if you could place items as blocks to do this!

There's a mod that lets you put it on a three-stair (risugami?) but I was just thinking like, have a chest in an artificial cavern with the pick in it, with a wool mock-up of it behind it lit in torches or lava.

Make it illegal to have offshore accounts unless you have dual citizenship in that country and spend at least half the year living there.

Change the secondary school system to be controlled by the government and subsidized, offering incentives for good grades and higher level of degrees/certificates/career training.

Have everyone in prisons work off their stay in the judicial system... NO cable, and anything involving prisoners (food, toilet paper, that stuff) NOT paid for by tax dollars. They want to commit the crime, they can work it off. Wardens I will be alright with paying for out of my tax dollars. But seriously. Cable?

Also, I'd probably adjust the salaries of those working in the political system to more aptly reflect their work. If you don't work with results, you don't get paid. <3

posted a message on Misconceptions you had on first encounters
First misconception during the beginning of Alpha when I was just introduced to it:

WTF, it's blocky, screw this game I'm playing WoW.

After I got into it at the END of Alpha I thought all hostile mobs exploded because the first night in survival, my house was exploded and I was crying IRL because I thought I had done something wrong.

But now I know the error of my ways. :D

Create a shrine to the pickaxe. It is what is holy in your world as of now.

school starts tomorrow, he is not doing well, and im just sad.

he came over today and we had dinner. he didnt finish eating and he layed on the couch.

it seems my mom and grandma are acting like everything is okay when they know it wont be. i dunno.

i really have mixed emotions and im really sad.

My grandma had pancreatic cancer and the last three months, she was in a hospital bed. her last few weeks she was non-responsive. It was really hard.

The best thing you can do is make them food. I know it sounds lame, but from all the people I've known who have had cancer (some have passed on, but a few have survived), they said the best thing was when someone made them a home cooked meal with their favorite foods. They might not be able to eat a lot of it, but it's called comfort food for a reason. :)

cancer needs to not exist. I hate what it does to people. I'd rather deal with real life creepers than cancer.

I associate them with the place my father works at. So, generally awesome.

I just wish they had a bit more skill in English, but hey, it's making my dad learn Russian.

Neither? both look kinda average. The girl is trying too hard, and the guy is just kinda meh. Plus he looks 12, like the_soup said.

Maybe the guy should come back in a couple years when he looks older and we can try this again. :(
