    In the attachment is a very nice double block extender. It is super compact (1 wide) and light on resources, tileable, very fast, works great...

    (all the pistons are of the sticky variety, and the observers in the bottom row look towards the right)

    Can someone help me turn it upside down, so that it extends from the ceiling, while retaining the dimensions (1 wide) and properties?

    I pray thee, Azanor, if at all possible, let us have fishing golems back. Those were extremely useful.

    The gauntlet looks spectacular. Much better than any wand.

    I second the suggestion of returning the optional ability of the Infernal Furnace to use Ignis essentia as fuel, to burn more cleanly and not drain Ignis from the aura. Also, I miss using Potentia essentia as fuel to power the Harness.

    Yeah, that can happen from time to time. It seems to be much rarer now than in TC4.

    You can cheat to restore your research:

    1. Close Minecraft
    2. Open Thaumcraft.cfg (in the config folder, make a backup of that file first) and find the line that says: I:research_difficulty=0
    3. Change it to: I:research_difficulty=-1
    4. Launch Minecraft and load your world.
    5. Go to creative mode by typing /gamemode c in chat (if you have cheats disabled, use "Open to LAN" button)
    6. Open Thaumonomicon and click on research topics you want to restore (it's up to you to decide whether you want to exploit this to cheat or just restore what you had in the first place)
    7. If you had Eldritch and Golemancy tabs unlocked, you may need to scan certain items to unlock them again (you know, the same items you scanned earlier).
    8. Go back to survival (/gamemode s)
    9. Close Minecraft
    10. Open Thaumcraft.cfg and replace what you changed back to: I:research_difficulty=0 (or restore the backup you made)

    I miss fishing golems, too. They were a very convenient way to get food and useful items at a slow, but constant rate.

    I have a lot of trouble placing chiselled blocks. For some reason they want to be placed inside a block below it, not on top of the block. I used the chisel to make a simple vertical slab (8x16x16 bits) and I created a positive chisel design. That was all very intuitive and easy to do, but for the life of me, I can't place the slab where I want it - I always unintentionally place it inside other blocks (either below the desired spot or behind it), partially destroying these blocks and making a mess...

    And please don't perceive my whining the wrong way - I really think this is one of the greatest mods ever created! It could very well be that I'm an idiot, but I really can't figure it out. :D

    For those who asked a page or two earlier how to destroy an aura node. If you have cheats enabled, you can do it using the commands. Move within 5 blocks to the node you wish to destroy and type this command: /kill @e[r=5]


    This will destroy all entities within 5 blocks of the player (including killing the player). I'm sure there is a way to specify type of entity to be only aura nodes, but I don't know what is the entity type for aura nodes. But the above method, while rather clumsy, works well.

    Does anyone else have problem growing single (1x1) spruce trees from saplings using bonemeal or the Hoe of Growth? The 2x2 spruce tree grows normally, but a single sapling will not grow (it behaves exactly like dark oak sapling, which is okay for dark oak, but not okay for spruce). I made sure there is plenty of space for the spruce tree (at least 5x5x8, but I tested it in superflat, too).

    I don't think it is a Thaumcraft issue, but rather an issue with Forge for 1.8.9 (I use Forge version 11.15.0.1699). However, I'd appreciate someone else confirming that.

    Excellent! I especially like Spawn Defuzzer - it's simple, elegant and does exactly what is expected of it, nothing more or less.

    Here is a request for a similarly minimalistic mod, if you feel like doing it: Enderman Denyer, which removes the ability of endermen to pick up blocks. I'm sure that would be very useful for people like myself, who don't appeciate endermen griefing and leaving holes in the natural landscape, yet don't want to use /gamerule mobGriefing false, because they like creepers exploding, villagers farming, rabbits eating carrots, etc...


    EDIT: There was a mod that did a similar thing, called Endermanage, but it is not ported for Forge 1.8.9.

    I have a question regarding eldritch obelisks and crimson cultists. If I kill all the clerics and knights around an obelisk, will they ever respawn there or do I have to find another obelisk in order to obtain full sets of their armours and the elusive crimson blade? I also like the ability to farm void seeds from them...
