    Thx Jp. The sponsorship is truly amazing. RedStoneHost has been great to work with, despite some of their more vocal reviews.

    Anyway, there are lots of people helping. Some builders, some permissions experts, and some database/MySQL gurus. Everyone has a part to play in this giant orchestra of an SMP server. I will update more as we reach milestones.

    Again, if all goes as planned, we will be releasing this Friday.

    Yes you certainly are, but I want more testers. The better BETA testing, the smoother the Grand Opening will go.

    Thanks for the compliment, too. Please offer any suggestions on adjusting/changing the above writeup. I know it's very text-heavy, but it was necessary to explain everything.

    Feel free to run around and look at things. You will be able to join. There's some cool things to look at too. The BETA will be officially opened in a day or so, when you'll be given the proper permissions to do things.

These same plug-ins will allow rich diversity in gameplay by adding elements such as a complex economy, random dungeons (with loot), NPC’s, 3 unique classes (with multiple ranks), chest shops, warp systems, and much more.

    :Diamond: AggieCraft works because of the relationship between the Campus and the surrounding Towns. Campus is run by the Faculty, while everywhere outside of campus is free game. Everyone must start as a student on the campus, work their way up through it (by leveling up), then graduate and choose a class to go into.

    AggieCraft brings a totally unique take on the common RPG systems found in other servers. Not only are players striving to get new abilities, but they are doing it in an environment set to replicate a famous University. Engineers will be allowed to continue work on the main campus, while the other classes can only build out in the wilderness.

    Students

    All players start as Students and must rank up through the following levels:

    Freshman
    o Cannot Chat, to prevent n00b spam
    o Cannot dig/build
    o Initially gifted $100, which will help buy some starter supplies
    o Able to interact with NPC’s and Turnstiles

    Sophomore - $750
    o Now able to buy from chest shops
    o Now able to dig/build

    Junior - $1,500
    o Able to properly take part in dungeon sieges. Can now warp out once the end has been found by using “/cat recall”.
    o Access to Junior+ areas

    Senior - $5,000
    o Access to Senior+ areas
    o Now able to access Graduation area to choose a Class.


    Once players complete the “Senior” level, they will be considered Graduates.

    :VV: At this point, if they have the required resources (money, items, etc), they will be eligible
    to choose 1 of 3 classes: Engineer, Businessmen, or Faculty.

    :VV: There are 5 ranks per class. Each new rank brings with it new abilities.

    :VV: Responsible for: Protection (Anti-Grief System), Reclaiming, Demolition, Special installations,
    Infrastructure, Flora, Turnstiles, and major Electronics.

    :VV: Players in this class are efficient builders and are mostly those who want to keep close to the basic
    elements of Minecraft. They prefer to build beautiful works, refine
    raw materials into armor/weapons, or create hidden passages using redstone and pistons.

    :VV: They can earn money by reclaiming stale constructions or abandoned lots (if approved via a mod or Lvl 5 Eng), installing complex installations (like drawbridges or secret passages), Placing important blocks (Lava, Bedrock), landscaping (replacing beaches and forest), and providing grief protection to other players in town and in the wild.

    NOTE: Engineers can only use Protection blocks OFF campus.
    They are not allowed to place any on campus- that is the job of the Faculty.

    Rank 1 - $10,000
    o Able to see all worlds around them, along with information on that world

    o Can enter Engineer Lv 2+ areas

    o Can now setup Catacombs. This includes creating unique catacombs and deciding where they are built.

    -- /cat recall (given to Junior+ players- use when next to final chest to warp to the entrance!)

    :VV: Responsible for: Stacking, Buying/Selling Goods/Land, Turnstiles, ChestShops, and Auctions.

    :VV: These players are the economists of the group. Not only do they enjoy the smell of AggieBucks in the morning, but they also are social butterflies. The most successful businessmen are the ones who make contact with as many players as possible, allowing them to have a constant finger on the pulse of AggieCraft trade.

    Rank 1 - $10,000
    o Can create basic Chest Shops

    Rank 2 - $15,000
    o Can enter Businessmen Lvl 2+ areas

    Rank 3 - $22,500
    o Can create Turnstiles

    Rank 4 - $31,000
    o Can view the financial accounts of others.

    Rank 5 - $75,000
    o Able to buy / sell land via specific towny functions.

    :Blue: Faculty Class :Blue:

    :VV: Responsible for: Teaching, Teleporting, Broadcasting, Punishing, Slaying, NPC creation and Room Assignments.

    :VV: Players in this class are the guides for AggieCraft. Students generally come with little-to-no knowledge of how the world functions. It the job of the Faculty to make sure all students are prepared at Graduation time. Faculty are trusted with many special abilities, including protection stones (on campus), teleports, and creating useful NPC’s. Occasionally, these classes can be bribed for personal gain.

    :VV: Additionally, Faculty are the Kings of the Campus. While both Faculty and Engineers can place protection stones, only Faculty can place them on Campus. Faculty has the final say with all things on campus.

    :VV: Faculty MUST cooperate with the other classes to have a successful thriving Campus. Engineers are needed to continue the building and expansion of Campus and Businessmen are needed to setup new shops / turnstiles.

    :VV: Faculty earn money mostly by mentoring students for particular trades, but also from NPC creations, teleporting players to them (useful in Quest), teleporting players to players (useful for PvP) and Selling Rooms on Campus.

    Rank 1 - $10,000
    o Can use the Broadcast ability to send Helpful messages to all players.

    Rank 2 - $13,000
    o Can use basic environment protection commands. (No offensive)

    Rank 3 - $16,000
    o Can teleport players

    Rank 4 - $20,000
    o Can enter Faculty 4+ areas.

    Rank 5 - $30,000
    o Can change the time of the day.
    o Can create NPC’s & set as a Trader, Healer, Guard, etc.

    AggieCraft server has a plugin that provides a way to track a real currency in game at all times. This currency (we lovingly call it AggieBucks) is used to pay for materials, products, teleport services, ranks and so on. This currency is really involved in everything that happens on AC.

    There are plenty player run shops in AggieCraft, run by people from the Trader caste who have the ability to trade items straight to the server. They are thus an ideal middleman to sell your spare materials to, and make yourself some early AgBucks!

    *Turnstiles*
    These are objects (gates or doors, usually) that cost money to enter.
    Cost $1,000 to create.

    *ChestShops*
    These are shops that can buy or sell items for set amounts. Can be placed anywhere the creator is allowed to build.
    Cost $1,000 to create.

    *NPC's*
    -These are players controlled by the computer. They can do a huge number of things from Quests to Healing to Guarding. There are 2 steps to creating an NPC.
    ~1) Creating the NPC from nothing. Price $5,000
    ~2) Giving the NPC a "role" (quester, healer, guard, etc). Price $1,000
    **So the total cost of a trader NPC on campus would cost $6,000.

    *Protection Stones*
    -These are special blocks used to set boundaries for players. Can allow anyone to enter or build, no one, or select users/groups. Very handy to protect your home/builds.
    ~Price not yet set, estimated at $500 per stone (covers a 5 x 5 chunk space)

    AggieCraft offers tons of features!-

    :bookshelf: Advanced Anti Griefing
    We have an extremely low rate of griefing due do what we call the gold sword. The gold sword allows you to see any placed or removed blocks history! Immediately allowing for any griefer to be reported and punished. This ties in perfectly with our mod ticketing system.

    :bookshelf: Events
    Eventually, AggieCraft will have an entire forum dedicated to events! We will have multiple events that run daily, weekly, monthly, and even a few so big they only occur once! We also celebrate each holiday with a huge event and give away tons of prizes!

    :bookshelf: Dungeons with Treasure
    Dungeons will be found (creations of Engineer Lv 5’s) around different parts of AC. Sometimes, they will be found on the main world, and sometimes they’ll be found out at the Mines. Can you make it all the way to the end and collect the treasure?

    :bookshelf: Cities
    Eventually, Players can start and rule there own miniature empires! Cities have 4 ranks or levels just like each estate. As your city gains more members, the richer you become, and the more perks and power your city gains!

    :bookshelf: Skills
    Eventually, Skills allow users to rank up in certain tasks and earn bonuses when performing certain actions! There will be 8 skills available to learn and master! Ranging from woodcutting, to herbalism, taming, and more!

    :bookshelf: Dedicated Mining World -
    Every user has access to an entire separate world from creation nation where they can freely, and openly mine! The world is large enough to support mining by hundreds of players daily, and is completely regenerated every week!

    :bookshelf: Wilderness -
    The wild is a free for all building zone. Brand new players can start building for free, and shack up anywhere as long as its not within the campus. This allows newer users to make some Aggiebucks to join an estate before they begin life in an official city. Optionally, Main Campus , offers FREE dorm rooms, but these usually go quickly and are not the most impressive.
