After doing a few deaths and restarts particularly lately, I've noticed just how powerful the chest is as an item.

The chest can be made pretty much right as you're working your way through the first night, essentially letting you save your item progress at will. This is all fine and dandy, but, with storage being as inexpensive as it is, I feel there's a missed opportunity for resource management. At present, there's the decision between leaving an item in your inventory where it can both be used or get lost, and your chests where it remains safe.
I'd like to see a possible tweak to storage to make prioritizing what items you save for your next life becoming a more meaningful process. Along with this perhaps a more significant investment being needed before producing large storage facilities in the mid to late game.

Hmm, I never had that problem.
I mean, I did slowly(or rather, very rapidly, depending on your views) go insane and die from total and complete dark, but never got internal bleeding from slight darkness. Nope, never did.

I always liked to think the darkness was slowly consuming me, its invisible tendrils creeping closer as you spend more time in its domain, until at last it has you. You scream with your voiceless mouth, shaking in panic as you try to escape its grasp, clawing for the surface, for the familiar embrace of safety that can drive this suffocating beast from your throat to no avail. You stumble about in confusion and madness looking for anything to keep the beast at bay a little longer, a smidge of coal, wood, sawdust, paper, arrows. Anything to survive another moment only for the search to end in vain. Collapsing and grunting weakly as your lifeforce ebbs away, until in the end nothing remains but putrid meat on the floor.

But you know, that's just me.

Seems like there might be an issue with chunk generation for your install then.

Cohesive gameplay is generally better than "having the numbers match everyone else's". Besides, with the new launcher installing BTW is the same process no matter what version it'd be using.

    Gasp!

Um... would a stone axe work? Anyways, I don't think breaking sugarcane was that bad... is it the breaking wicker part that destroys my food supplies?

Breaking a block uses up hunger, gathering a lot of sugar cane means breaking a lot of blocks, so it follows making wicker means using a lot of hunger. Iron Axes to help balance them out cause no food penalty for hacking down vegetation.

It seems to happen even when I don't have the jar file actually open in winrar, and I never try to add things to it while MC is running. Perhaps I should try doing the patchwork in another location just in case it's some weird permissions thing?

EDIT: doing the patching of the Jar in a separate location other than the .Minecraft folder seems to have fixed it. Yet another one of Windows 8's quirks.

I've been having some troubles installing the newest version. Whenever I try to drag the files into my Jar file, the Jar is replaced with a file called _RZI.### where the #'s are a random digit.

    ! Cannot rename __rzi_0.277 to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.5.2_BTW\1.5.2_BTW.jar
        Access is denied.

Well technically we all started with 1 forum post....are we trolls? are we human? are we dancers?

Do androids dream of electric sheep?

Admittedly, I was banned a year ago for over-suggesting at the official forums on one of FC's Drunken Fridays, having moved over from a very pro-suggestion community and couldn't take a hint. I guess people can start off pretty bad, even if they don't intend to, but making your very first post in this thread which is often riddled with trolls all for the sake of a question answerable in the OP...

Since we are on page 1984, I found the reference to the book,1984, on the splash text: Freedom is Slavery...

There is no reference. There never was. Your friends from minitru will arrive shortly to help you Remember.

I could have sworn it had actually been reported as happening in the past few months or so, something about a player jumping onto a rope being treated as though they were still jumping while climbing the rope and draining hunger as such.

Just to say, you wouldn't address FC in this manner (asking for the game to change directions, wanting it easier, hating on him when he doesn't change it to your demands) if he were, say, Valve or Bethesda would you?

It's just as silly as saying "Tanks are too hard for me to fight, make them weaker so my friends can play with me on hard rain and be happy beating it super easily. Also, while you're at it, remove the rain because it's hard to see and I keep getting lost."

Unlike a company, however, FC s not receiving direct payment for his services nor should he have reason to care what people who are not his intended audience think about his mod.

Um, pardon, does anyone have a link to the deco addon? the one in the thread is down because of the maker's internet had some issues with malware.

If you don't mind a slightly hacky solution, just take the existing stone, color it a couple shades darker with GIMP or photoshop, then save it as the BTW strata texture in the texture pack.

I believe Craftguide is one of the few mods that chooses to take pains to remain compatible with BTW, namely because all it really does is help minimize the time spent on the Wiki. TMI and NEI are both inventory mods, and pretty much do the exact same thing as creative mode anyway besides the Craftguide feature.
