So let me get this straight, it can mine anything except bedrock and obsidian, yet its armour has only 9 points of defense? That's even less that what gold armour has!

Oops, I was thinking about the old armor points xD, its 18 points when full!

I don't see any benefit or challenge presented by this idea.

Why does there need to be one? The ghast interrupting you while you mine counts!

posted a message on Nether Ores!

Hello! Are you a nether dweller? Do you want to mine in the nether, without having to go back to the overworld? Then you should support my well-thought idea of adding Nether ores into Minecraft!

Now, we've all heard of that mod, but why have a mod when it could be implemented? Mojang had done that plenty of times like the following:

Beta 1.2 - Schaevolus' McRegion Converter

    Beta 1.7 - Pistons

    Release 1.6 - Horses

So if you ask me, and maybe everyone, then it would make perfect sense to add in another one, as it hadn't happened for 3 years!

    THE ORES

The ores will generate at any level in the nether, that means diamond and emerald can be found anywhere! But just because they can be found on every level, doesn't mean that you will find them that easily. They will still have the same rarity.

Their textures will be netherrack with the ore pattern outlined in black. But you guys can suggest to me a better texture!

When you smelt the nether ores, you get 1 of that ore's ingot/material afterwards. Pretty cool

So, what do you say, do you support this idea?

Here's an idea. Blow em up with TNT. Or even better, set MobGriefing to false, and break em as much as you like, only one spawns, and the others don't pop out if you hit the original one.

Fact: TNT blows up the eggs, but the silverfish still come out!

The second anyone says "something something better/faster than diamond", the suggestion falls into a pit it can never climb out of. Nothing should be better than diamond, that's just too much. Why can't it mine obsidian? That's really random. The buckets are also needlessly beefy.

A new ore shouldn't be for these overly powerful things. We also don't need another tier of tools.

Yeah, i agree with everything you just said...

It is...? Armor is separated into 5 different tiers: leather, chain, iron, gold and diamond.

What is your idea of a tier then?

by tier i mean HARVEST LEVEL...

Gold is a tier. Things having better efficiency than other things makes them tires. Any new ore malleable enough to be forged into the current kinds of tools would be considered a new tier. What you're suggesting is a new tier of tools.

    lolno its not

Don't steal stuff from other games.

A tire higher than diamond should mine obsidian.

We don't need another tire of tools.

The only thing interesting about this suggestion is the bucket, which alone doesn't warrant the ore.

Umm.. its not a new tier at all... its just got better efficiency, like gold...

    Pros:

    • If done right, it could help add more variety to the game
    • The fact that it mines faster than diamond yet isn't quite as powerful is certainly a good way to balance things out and make the tool tier more unique

    Cons:

    • Adding an extra tier of tool with no special features could just be repetitive and simply make the game more grindy
    • Taking things from other games is generally very strongly frowned upon.
    • You haven't fully described the mineral yet - attack speed and damage, enchantment-luck and rarity are just some I can come up with from the top of my head. Needs more work!

    Other Points:

    • The bucket idea does seem pretty random, but bucket tiers and adding durability to buckets could even be worth its own thread
    • Malachite is actually a type of copper, which has been agreed by the community to be most likely to go between stone and iron
    Moderate Support.

Hmm... maybe I'll edit this thread then :)
