Thanks for reporting this bug, will get to work on it as soon as i can. I suggest you try a different redstoned netherrack mod.

yours is the only one that seems to work properly. I'm not in any huge rush for it.

I think you have a slight bug in your redstone netherrack mod.

You can't enter the nether with it enabled, as it causes the game to crash. I think that might have something to do with the fact that you can't place any block on top of netherrack (even more netherrack).

I'd love to use this mod on my SMP server, but until that's fixed I can't.

    Yeh I can update it,
    I'll do it when I have a lil'spare time.

    thanks :biggrin.gif:

Any idea if it'll work with Forge mods like Buildcraft, Redpower, and Railcraft?

we use those on our server, and if they are going to conflict then it's no good to me unfortunately :sad.gif:

What version of MC are you using?
Currently this is not updated to MC1.1(The latest release)
It is only compatible with MC1.0

    that might explain it.

    apparently I can't read :ohmy.gif:

Any chance it will be updated for 1.1.0?

I can't get this mod to work at all.

I've tried it with a fresh mc installation, and it just freezes on the white mojang screen.

I really want to use it in conjunction with RedPower and BuildCraft on our SMP server, so if it's not going to work with that there's no point, but I can't even seem to get it working in creative SP.

It seems the 0.8.7 version does not work with 64-bit Java. It forced Minecraft to run in 32-bit and when I had only 64-bit installed the launcher can't find Java at all.

Same issue here. Win7 Pro, 64Bit Java 6 (edited, actually running java 6, my mistake)

tried this, doesn't make any difference. running the jar from a command line seems to work, however.

Got to love the Command line stuff...

Now... as for getting it mixed up... double...triple check your ID placements, your work computer may be using old IDs that are not what the server is using, try copying and pasting your config files between computers (or cheat and just dropbox the whole thing... i gave up and did that a while ago SOO nice to be able to play from any computer with all my stuff set up)

the command line stuff is the only way I can figure out how to install Modloader, ModloaderMP, and the Railcraft Minecart compatibility layer into the Jar. it's also the directions directly from the Modloader thread under the installation section for Mac OS.

I"m having the exact same problem on my mac as well. Fig and I play on the same server. my PC at home is ok and I've never had an issue with it, but when I get it set up on my mac at work I experience some of the same symptoms. Deployers, filters and transposers all appear as BC iron pipe and will flash green boxes sometimes. I know Fig's had issues with BC liquids not rendering properly (pink fuels amongst other things). We are running Buildcraft 2.x, RedPower 2 PR4, and the latest version of Railcraft.

I know for a fact I'm not running optifine. I installed in the following order:

Fresh minecraft install by deleting the whole minecraft folder from ~/Library/Application Support and running minecraft.
    quit minecraft
Installed modloader using the following method:
extract Jar file with this command:
    cd ~
    mkdir mctmp
    cd mctmp
    jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar

copied modloader files into the mctmp folder
ran the following command to repack the jar
    rm META-INF/MOJANG_C.*
    jar uf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./
    cd ..
    rm -rf mctmp

Run Minecraft to make sure I didn't get a black screen or any errors/crashes.

Then I installed ModLoaderMP using the same method.
Then I installed Minecraft Forge using the same method.
I installed the Minecart Compatibility layer for Railcraft

at this point, I put the BC, RP and RC zip files in the mods folder and fire it up. There's no errors or black screens.

Now, we haven't tried this in Creative SP yet. I can't access my mac at work from where I'm at now, so I've asked Fig to test that. I'll try it tomorrow and report my findings also.

I made the post yesterday about the redstone conduit block, and it is very close to what you've proposed here. I had searched and found similar ideas but none seemed to be well fleshed out in terms of implementation and use. I also tried to stick with proposing a single new block that would cover most of the problems it addressed, but did mention the idea of an elbow or T connector.

The most important aspect of the conduit block is that it limits the connectivity so that signals can run side-by-side. Not sure if that's what you're suggesting here.

Maybe I should update my post with pretty pictures...

yea, your post was def more comprehensive for sure. I like the idea of being able to run conduits side by side, wasn't something I'd necessarily thought about. even if we still had to keep the 1 block space, notch could just make a single block that carries current to every face, then wherever you put blocks the current just flows to the next block, then you don't need to worry about orientation. either way, we need evolution of the redstone system. people are building bigger and better stuff all the time, and it's high time that notch addresses these issues with the current implementation.

Posting this is absolutely useless if you do not link to identical topics.

i just ran a search and found one topic (from yesterday no doubt :ohmy.gif:) that's pretty well identical to this, but without the nice illustration that I provided.

Yes, i should have searched, but I didn't.

Glad it's been suggested many times, means I'm not the only one that finds this useful. Maybe if it gets reposted enough, Notch might actually implement it.

lol, that would make mushroom farms much easier to see. but, would these blocks also act as a repeater? if so, then to redstone dust should be replaced with torches to balance it more.

no, i'd expect it to work the normal 15 block range for redstone. You could craft a repeater block as well i suppose, but we've already got the repeaters now that you could just wire into.

It would be nice to upgrade redstone a little to make vertical runs easier to build. My suggestion would be craftable redstone blocks. Since there doesn't seem to be a redstone smiley, I'm going to use iron :Iron: in it's place for demonstration purposes.

for example, crafting the following would yield 3 or 4 blocks with redstone running horizontally:

    :cobblestone: :cobblestone: :cobblestone:
    :Iron: :Iron: :Iron:
    :cobblestone: :cobblestone: :cobblestone:

and this could create the same number of blocks where the redstone current would run vertically:

    :cobblestone: :Iron: :cobblestone:
    :cobblestone: :Iron: :cobblestone:
    :cobblestone: :Iron: :cobblestone:

This could make blocks where the redstone could turn a corner (direction would be similar to piston placing)

    :cobblestone: :Iron: :cobblestone:
    :cobblestone: :Iron: :Iron:
    :cobblestone: :cobblestone: :cobblestone:

etc. The possibilities are endless, but could make it much easier to design and implement redstone circuits that aren't such a pain to make look nice and hide as well. I know notch is busy with the adventure stuff, but this could make those of us who would rather tinker with building machines and such very happy. Failing this suggestion, maybe just a way to place redstone on walls could be a start, I know there's client side mods that can do this, but I don't think it'll work in SMP. I'd love to hear other people's thoughts and suggestions on this as well.

just a tip for the people getting out of memory errors on Win7 64

try using 64 bit java. I was getting crashes every 5 min like clockwork. remove your 32 bit java first, then go to java.com using 64 Bit IE (in the start menu under all programs) and download the 64 bit version.

may or may not help, but it made a huge improvement for me. I played 4 hours tonight and not a single out of memory crash.

    Can't find wolves/wolves aren't spawning.

    Version of Minecraft: 1.8.1

    SSP or SMP: SMP

Your Computer Specs and Operating System: irrelevant

Can you repeat this bug: yep

What issues does the bug Cause: I can't find a wolf

Specific conditions it occurs in if applicable: Wolves are not spawning in forest biomes on SMP servers. I've spent the last 2 days looking for wolves, and I can't find any. Someone told me they found a couple in a snow/tundra type biome, but doesn't remember where he found it so I can't go look there either.
