    Quote from NeoRetro10K

If this doesn't get thrown out immediately, I'll be effing amazed.
    Reasons:
    1. Mojang owns nothing by the name of Mindcraft.
    2. "a system and method ... for preventing unauthorized access to electronic data stored on an electronic device" - sounds like "password authentication system" to me. Which have been used for as long as computers have existed, which is longer than Uniloc.
    3. The fact that Uniloc has sued 73 companies makes it clear that they are, simply put, parasites without a case.

Well, I would agree with you, but legal teams usually do not take action on a case unless there is credible evidence to believe that they will garner profits from the case, unless Uniloc's legal firm likes to take constant gambles on their reputation of winning every case, they are banking on something we do not know.

hatemail may not get them to stop, but at a magnitude of a big enough fanbase, they might lose a computer or two. XD

get em' :) I am sure 4Chan could use something to do.

these kind of lawsuits pop up all the time. Their legal team would not be pushing for the lawsuit if there wasn't a reality of them winning some money so the fact that they already moved forward and Mojang has been alerted means this is a big deal, not something you can just throw hate mail and rhetoric at, this is going to take some serious action.

With the current forests, I find myself constantly hitting my head on the canopy. In reality, I never hit the canopies of trees when I walk through a forest, and I live next to one. Making it smaller? Sure, but only if the rest of the trees become larger.

you do have a point there.

But in my forests the brush is so thick you can't even walk through it without pushing and breaking branches. but those branches are nowhere near the canopy.

Unless it was a really good troll job by several different people back in alpha I remember this happening back then also. I think it was patched out in the initial beta build, but the rumor persisted. This was before Jeb joined the team, so Jeb's quote on the wiki was probably stated by him because he didn't know.

Unless I somehow spawned a Ghast in the overworld without mods, my SMP server back in Beta had this happen, I was the only OP and I wish I could roll back to an update to show some screenies.

Anyone can create a language, but think about what it takes to build it up so its actually functional. A modern high level language still requires back end support, and in the end runs as machine code to the processor.

    You wanna talk real programming.

http://en.wikipedia....ched_card_era , even then these guys were lazy compared to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENIAC , which switches to build each register before sending it to the system.

yeah it takes quiet the ammount of audacity to create a great system, I would love to follow as an apprentice and just witness the awe.
but this still doesn't change my prior statement that real programmers build the language you use to talk to the machine.

ahh, I guess there could be a huge use for something like that. but we can already accomplish this much with what we have already.

I kind of disagree with this, in that it doesn't make Minecraft look blocky when there are models that aren't cubes. Mobs are an exception, but some things like fences I don't like very much.

Though, it's good in theory :)

So the gist of it is; you don't like it because the trunk doesn't take up a full cubic meter of space? the thin tree is just as rectangular as a fence post, Glass panes don't use the full space, iron bars, torches, levers, any slabs, stairs, pressure plates, ect ect ect...

so in essence we should remove all of those for your sake.

    Quote from Genosakuraii

Poor trees look so deformed...My prayers go out to those poor thin trees and their families.

    Anyways,

I don't see any problem with the trees we have now, punching trees at the beginning is one of the greatest things about minecraft, don't like it? Then leave.

it is a young and growing tree not a socially challenged broke for change tree, those are personifications.

and if you didn't see, you can still punch trees in the beginning it is just a Poll up for a vote now.

The problem we have with trees NOW, is that if you bone meal a sappling, it turns into a full blown freaking tree.

so you can go from start to finish in a trees life in less time than it takes to craft a pickaxe, this makes for easy exploitation of wood resources, throwing the balance of potential trading and economic viability in the villages for any type of wood.

Bonemeal is an available resource from the first sight of the sun resting on the horizon on the first day in your world.

if you don't see the problem in that, I am truly sorry, but it is a flaw.

    Quote from Johnny__Alpha

I wouldn't know, I settled specifically on my 0,0 coordinates, but on the other hand, I never use a compass, I prefer to take a map. I sometimes also make paths or lines of torches to places I visit often, and I also have a long railway to one place. I think there are many ways to find your way to and from places, it's not hard to avoid getting lost. Also, I maintain that a compass pointing to a bed makes no sense whatsoever.

exactly, the people whom generally use the spawn area as their set up point hardly ever actually NEED a compass where as people whom branch out have a hard time finding their homes...

I'm planning on putting all my old ideas in a spoiler. You guys have given me WAY better ideas.
With the thin jungle tree I think you would just get a large jungle tree if you had four saplings because it would look weird.lol.
ill give you credit for the idea of saplings growing into the thin trees.
I almost forgot. More pics are coming.

Hey thanks for the credit, I agree a Large Jungle tree would make sense, the thin would look funky heh.
I look forward to your creative prowess and will provide further insight for your mind to feed on.

    Quote from Kholdstare

I'd rather see bigger trees. What we have is puny.

The jungle and forest biomes are full of nice statuesque trees, I don't see how you think the recently revamped trees look puny?

    Excuse me?

    No wait, I understand now.

But why would you need a + one way? That would basically be normal redstone.

maybe the OP means a redstone block that does not connect to redstone, making it a viable dead end or barrier for heavy Redstone diagrams.

    Nope.

Perhaps, but it doesn't really make sense. Ghasts are too fat to fit through a portal.
Nether infection is an interesting idea. As long as it doesn't spread perpetually, only up to a certain distance from the portal. It would add a little bit of atmosphere.

    lol, "nope."
    Yeeeep.
breaking a meter long stone block with a fist also doesn't really make sense.
they look more like a floating ghost to me anyway, so physical barriers should be moot.

I'm sure the video I saw was a mod of a ghast spawning out of a portal, but it wasn't a cut scene edited video, or the other Ghast videos, and im sure it was fake when I was slaying the Zombie Pigmen that I used to farm outside of the nether portal, NOT.

I quiet boldly remember back when the end was being implemented I had a ghast in the overworld. this was before I used MCEdit and Mods in general, on a SMP server that I hosted.
