If I were to craft an ender sword out of materials I happened to already know, I would go with...blaze rod, eye of ender, diamond(edit: bottom to top). But of course, that would not be a true ender sword, would it? Maybe the ender sword could be crafted with an item from a new boss... (sorry to plug but it's on my mind atm) maybe the giant zombie boss? I had an idea, I posted it in the suggestions forum. Again, sorry to plug but the ender sword crafting conversation got me going a bit
My friend deer deer.....do not go to that point.WHY?1.your world might get corrupt.2.you will end up in corrupt land.3.you will drop to 0 fps.
Haha well, I'm going anyways! I've nothing better to do, and I can always start a new world. If I had any significant builds I probably wouldn't try it. Also, I usually get no more than 20 fps on a good day, so if it gets really unbearable I'll just tp back to my base and resume life as usual.
So my most recent minecraft world was going great til the other day. Had a nice base, right next to a village, farms, animals in pens, next to a nice big forest.
Then, one day, I was looking around the internet for interesting things to do in minecraft. I came across a site (I believe a thread on the MCForums) which had a suggestion: go to the 30,000,000 point in your MC world.
Naturally, I left my comfortable life behind, and headed north. Along the way, (maybe should have mentioned cheats enabled but vanilla otherwise) I switched to peaceful/creative here and there, just to get a good look at things/ keep from losing my progress. I had already turned off the mobGriefing game rule... But at about the 10,000 point, I noticed something odd... I was alone. Passive mobs still spawned, sometimes abundantly, But I had not seen a hostile mob in (minecraft) days! It's gotten to the point where I can walk all night and not see so much as a single zombie. I've made sure to reset my gamemode/difficulty/mobgriefing back to survival/normal/true, respectively, and have gone a couple (minecraft) nights still without seeing anything.
Has anything like this happened to anyone else? I'm not sure if it's some sort of bug, maybe I'm somehow getting really lucky, maybe it has to do with the fact that I'm almost constantly moving but I'm pretty sure hostile mobs would spawn with newly generated chunks as they load at night.
P.S. I don't intend to 'submit' a bug report with this post, But if a mod/admin comes across it and feels it would better belong in another subforum please move it, I don't want to spam this subforum (I'm new to the forums, sorry)
Edit: I had intended for this thread to be more about the mysterious absence of hostile mobs and less about going to the far lands...
To be more specific, the seed used for the Pseudo Random Number Generator in the Minecraft world generator (which is what makes all the decisions WRT what, where, how, what color, how high, etc.) is the ONLY seed used in each world. Period. Therefore if a seed causes pink sheep to appear near spawn when one person creates a world that same seed used on another machine WILL produce the same pink sheep to appear in exactly the same place. Assuming, of course, the same world generator is being used. Be aware that the MC world generator changed significantly when MC v 1.7 came out. Also I do not know if seeds for PCs (including Macs) produce the same worlds on the other platforms. Now that I think about it the fact that this site has different seed forums for PS3, Xbox, and the Portable Edition of Minecraft indicates to me that they don't.
Well, I meant the colors sheep can 'naturally' occur with lol. I'm new to the forums, but not to the minecraft basics. However, BigAlanM, you answered my qeustion completely and eloquently. Thank you
Nice seed, wish my computer had the beef to go amplified. I'll check it out on non-amplified though, I'm curious if it will still be some kind of awesome.
Edit: well, it is pretty cool since I had yet to experience a mesa biome. So, for that, thanks for sharing!
Okay, so... I have searched via Google and the MinecraftForum search function and have read each of the topics I thought relevant and haven't found any real useful tips. I am trying to find a nether fortress (as you may have guessed), and have tried to stay around 60-70 on the Y axis while moving eastward or westward. However, I still can't seem to find one...
I've also heard fortresses tend to spawn in lava lakes, but I don't want to go as far as switching to creative and flying around a lake to find one. Also heard the tip for listening for blazes, kept my ears open and haven't heard anything. I've set my render distance out to as far as 12 chunks... I play on a laptop so I get tolerable performance at not much more than 7 chunks but if I wait I can see maybe 10... I have also used MCEdit and other mapping tools in the past to look at my map but I feel like that's worse than switching to creative.
Basically, I'm wondering if anyone has any... I suppose, obscure or uncommon strategies for finding a nether fortress. Can I make my overworld portal at a certain coordinate on a certain axis to have a better chance? Ive heard or read that the nether side of the portal corresponds in some way to the overworld end... That's the only other guess I would have to try to have a better chance to find a fortress, and at that, I"m not familiar with the entire mechanics of it. I'll try any suggestions, and thanks for the help!
25. Have a resource block fall on a pressure plate when attempting to loot a desert temple.
26. A creeper explodes, throwing you into a pool of lava
27. Mine your way into a dungeon with no armor
I use the same trap, for the exp (I have no real need for rotten flesh anyways) and have experienced the same thing since the 1.7.3/1.7.4 update timeframe. Honestly, my best guess is that the creators of minecraft minorly nerfed the benefits of this trap just to make it a bit more of a pain. But really... just use a piece of meat or something that doesn't have a real damage value and click them twice. Yeah you have to click twice as many times but, really, it's free and still effortless exp.
I don't mean to be an arsehole, but I think we all just need to deal with it.
