How about a pump system that allows us to pump water/lava into tanks?

allyourbasesaregone posted a message on Lava SpongesPosted in: SuggestionsYes, I know lava resistance potions exist, but you still have to go around the lava, or remove it all by bucket or water + diamond pickaxe efficiency v, if you want to mine ores in a 'lava-submerged' cave in the overworld at or below y=12.
I don't have any ideas on how to balance this amount of power, but I guess the crafting recipe should be expensive and non-renewable.
And no, it wouldn't be overpowered in the Nether. It's an ocean of lava, sponges are not going to solve that.

saka29 posted a message on Playing with Customized WorldsPosted in: Customised WorldsAs customized worlds are going to be unsupported as of 1.13, I figure I'd have some fun messing around with the values. I tried setting some to -1, some to high values (I mostly used 2^31-1 or 2147483647). Here are some cool ones I found.
1. "Nearlands"
I actually made this one a while ago (Notice the date on the bottom left of the picture [Also please don't ask about the things on my taskbar or why I didn't just press F2]). I set some values to -1 and the world turned out amazing. I named it "Nearlands" because I thought that the world was pretty glitchy-looking, like the farlands, except the glitchyness is everywhere.
Preset:
{"coordinateScale":684.412,"heightScale":684.412,"lowerLimitScale":-1.0,"upperLimitScale":-1.0,"depthNoiseScaleX":-1.0,"depthNoiseScaleZ":-1.0,"depthNoiseScaleExponent":-1.0,"mainNoiseScaleX":-1.0,"mainNoiseScaleY":-1.0,"mainNoiseScaleZ":-1.0,"baseSize":-1.0,"stretchY":-1.0,"biomeDepthWeight":1.0,"biomeDepthOffset":0.0,"biomeScaleWeight":1.0,"biomeScaleOffset":0.0,"seaLevel":63,"useCaves":true,"useDungeons":true,"dungeonChance":8,"useStrongholds":true,"useVillages":true,"useMineShafts":true,"useTemples":true,"useMonuments":true,"useMansions":true,"useRavines":true,"useWaterLakes":true,"waterLakeChance":4,"useLavaLakes":true,"lavaLakeChance":80,"useLavaOceans":false,"fixedBiome":-1,"biomeSize":4,"riverSize":4,"dirtSize":33,"dirtCount":10,"dirtMinHeight":0,"dirtMaxHeight":256,"gravelSize":33,"gravelCount":8,"gravelMinHeight":0,"gravelMaxHeight":256,"graniteSize":33,"graniteCount":10,"graniteMinHeight":0,"graniteMaxHeight":80,"dioriteSize":33,"dioriteCount":10,"dioriteMinHeight":0,"dioriteMaxHeight":80,"andesiteSize":33,"andesiteCount":10,"andesiteMinHeight":0,"andesiteMaxHeight":80,"coalSize":17,"coalCount":20,"coalMinHeight":0,"coalMaxHeight":128,"ironSize":9,"ironCount":20,"ironMinHeight":0,"ironMaxHeight":64,"goldSize":9,"goldCount":2,"goldMinHeight":0,"goldMaxHeight":32,"redstoneSize":8,"redstoneCount":8,"redstoneMinHeight":0,"redstoneMaxHeight":16,"diamondSize":8,"diamondCount":1,"diamondMinHeight":0,"diamondMaxHeight":16,"lapisSize":7,"lapisCount":1,"lapisCenterHeight":16,"lapisSpread":16}

It's very fun to use elytra and fly through the holes.
2. Floating Islands I
A fun preset with large floating islands. Very simple to make, just set the limit scales to -1
Preset:
{"coordinateScale":684.412,"heightScale":684.412,"lowerLimitScale":-1.0,"upperLimitScale":-1.0,"depthNoiseScaleX":200.0,"depthNoiseScaleZ":200.0,"depthNoiseScaleExponent":0.5,"mainNoiseScaleX":80.0,"mainNoiseScaleY":160.0,"mainNoiseScaleZ":80.0,"baseSize":8.5,"stretchY":12.0,"biomeDepthWeight":1.0,"biomeDepthOffset":0.0,"biomeScaleWeight":1.0,"biomeScaleOffset":0.0,"seaLevel":63,"useCaves":true,"useDungeons":true,"dungeonChance":8,"useStrongholds":true,"useVillages":true,"useMineShafts":true,"useTemples":true,"useMonuments":true,"useMansions":true,"useRavines":true,"useWaterLakes":true,"waterLakeChance":4,"useLavaLakes":true,"lavaLakeChance":80,"useLavaOceans":false,"fixedBiome":-1,"biomeSize":4,"riverSize":4,"dirtSize":33,"dirtCount":10,"dirtMinHeight":0,"dirtMaxHeight":256,"gravelSize":33,"gravelCount":8,"gravelMinHeight":0,"gravelMaxHeight":256,"graniteSize":33,"graniteCount":10,"graniteMinHeight":0,"graniteMaxHeight":80,"dioriteSize":33,"dioriteCount":10,"dioriteMinHeight":0,"dioriteMaxHeight":80,"andesiteSize":33,"andesiteCount":10,"andesiteMinHeight":0,"andesiteMaxHeight":80,"coalSize":17,"coalCount":20,"coalMinHeight":0,"coalMaxHeight":128,"ironSize":9,"ironCount":20,"ironMinHeight":0,"ironMaxHeight":64,"goldSize":9,"goldCount":2,"goldMinHeight":0,"goldMaxHeight":32,"redstoneSize":8,"redstoneCount":8,"redstoneMinHeight":0,"redstoneMaxHeight":16,"diamondSize":8,"diamondCount":1,"diamondMinHeight":0,"diamondMaxHeight":16,"lapisSize":7,"lapisCount":1,"lapisCenterHeight":16,"lapisSpread":16}
Screenshot/Example world:
3. Massive Floating Islands with Beautiful View
This one is one of my favorites, the world generates with massive floating islands but at the edge there's an absolutely amazing view, very cool.
Preset:
{"coordinateScale":5.0,"heightScale":5.0,"lowerLimitScale":5.0,"upperLimitScale":5.0,"depthNoiseScaleX":5.0,"depthNoiseScaleZ":5.0,"depthNoiseScaleExponent":5.0,"mainNoiseScaleX":5.0,"mainNoiseScaleY":5.0,"mainNoiseScaleZ":5.0,"baseSize":5.0,"stretchY":5.0,"biomeDepthWeight":1.0,"biomeDepthOffset":0.0,"biomeScaleWeight":1.0,"biomeScaleOffset":0.0,"seaLevel":10,"useCaves":true,"useDungeons":true,"dungeonChance":8,"useStrongholds":true,"useVillages":true,"useMineShafts":true,"useTemples":true,"useMonuments":true,"useMansions":true,"useRavines":true,"useWaterLakes":true,"waterLakeChance":4,"useLavaLakes":true,"lavaLakeChance":80,"useLavaOceans":false,"fixedBiome":-1,"biomeSize":4,"riverSize":4,"dirtSize":33,"dirtCount":10,"dirtMinHeight":0,"dirtMaxHeight":256,"gravelSize":33,"gravelCount":8,"gravelMinHeight":0,"gravelMaxHeight":256,"graniteSize":33,"graniteCount":10,"graniteMinHeight":0,"graniteMaxHeight":80,"dioriteSize":33,"dioriteCount":10,"dioriteMinHeight":0,"dioriteMaxHeight":80,"andesiteSize":33,"andesiteCount":10,"andesiteMinHeight":0,"andesiteMaxHeight":80,"coalSize":17,"coalCount":20,"coalMinHeight":0,"coalMaxHeight":128,"ironSize":9,"ironCount":20,"ironMinHeight":0,"ironMaxHeight":64,"goldSize":9,"goldCount":2,"goldMinHeight":0,"goldMaxHeight":32,"redstoneSize":8,"redstoneCount":8,"redstoneMinHeight":0,"redstoneMaxHeight":16,"diamondSize":8,"diamondCount":1,"diamondMinHeight":0,"diamondMaxHeight":16,"lapisSize":7,"lapisCount":1,"lapisCenterHeight":16,"lapisSpread":16}
Screenshot/Example world (Yes, I used quake pro):
4. Floating Islands II
Another floating islands one, but the generation is a bit different, the islands are more "rounded".
Preset:
{"coordinateScale":684.412,"heightScale":684.412,"lowerLimitScale":5000.0,"upperLimitScale":1.0,"depthNoiseScaleX":200.0,"depthNoiseScaleZ":200.0,"depthNoiseScaleExponent":0.5,"mainNoiseScaleX":80.0,"mainNoiseScaleY":160.0,"mainNoiseScaleZ":80.0,"baseSize":8.5,"stretchY":12.0,"biomeDepthWeight":1.0,"biomeDepthOffset":0.0,"biomeScaleWeight":1.0,"biomeScaleOffset":0.0,"seaLevel":63,"useCaves":true,"useDungeons":true,"dungeonChance":8,"useStrongholds":true,"useVillages":true,"useMineShafts":true,"useTemples":true,"useMonuments":true,"useMansions":true,"useRavines":true,"useWaterLakes":true,"waterLakeChance":4,"useLavaLakes":true,"lavaLakeChance":80,"useLavaOceans":false,"fixedBiome":-1,"biomeSize":4,"riverSize":4,"dirtSize":33,"dirtCount":10,"dirtMinHeight":0,"dirtMaxHeight":256,"gravelSize":33,"gravelCount":8,"gravelMinHeight":0,"gravelMaxHeight":256,"graniteSize":33,"graniteCount":10,"graniteMinHeight":0,"graniteMaxHeight":80,"dioriteSize":33,"dioriteCount":10,"dioriteMinHeight":0,"dioriteMaxHeight":80,"andesiteSize":33,"andesiteCount":10,"andesiteMinHeight":0,"andesiteMaxHeight":80,"coalSize":17,"coalCount":20,"coalMinHeight":0,"coalMaxHeight":128,"ironSize":9,"ironCount":20,"ironMinHeight":0,"ironMaxHeight":64,"goldSize":9,"goldCount":2,"goldMinHeight":0,"goldMaxHeight":32,"redstoneSize":8,"redstoneCount":8,"redstoneMinHeight":0,"redstoneMaxHeight":16,"diamondSize":8,"diamondCount":1,"diamondMinHeight":0,"diamondMaxHeight":16,"lapisSize":7,"lapisCount":1,"lapisCenterHeight":16,"lapisSpread":16}
Screenshot/Example world:
5. Spiky
This one generates spikes of land all over the place and looks pretty cool.
Preset:
{"coordinateScale":32768.0,"heightScale":684.412,"lowerLimitScale":512.0,"upperLimitScale":512.0,"depthNoiseScaleX":200.0,"depthNoiseScaleZ":200.0,"depthNoiseScaleExponent":0.5,"mainNoiseScaleX":80.0,"mainNoiseScaleY":160.0,"mainNoiseScaleZ":80.0,"baseSize":8.5,"stretchY":12.0,"biomeDepthWeight":1.0,"biomeDepthOffset":0.0,"biomeScaleWeight":1.0,"biomeScaleOffset":0.0,"seaLevel":63,"useCaves":true,"useDungeons":true,"dungeonChance":8,"useStrongholds":true,"useVillages":true,"useMineShafts":true,"useTemples":true,"useMonuments":true,"useMansions":true,"useRavines":true,"useWaterLakes":true,"waterLakeChance":4,"useLavaLakes":true,"lavaLakeChance":80,"useLavaOceans":false,"fixedBiome":-1,"biomeSize":4,"riverSize":4,"dirtSize":33,"dirtCount":10,"dirtMinHeight":0,"dirtMaxHeight":256,"gravelSize":33,"gravelCount":8,"gravelMinHeight":0,"gravelMaxHeight":256,"graniteSize":33,"graniteCount":10,"graniteMinHeight":0,"graniteMaxHeight":80,"dioriteSize":33,"dioriteCount":10,"dioriteMinHeight":0,"dioriteMaxHeight":80,"andesiteSize":33,"andesiteCount":10,"andesiteMinHeight":0,"andesiteMaxHeight":80,"coalSize":17,"coalCount":20,"coalMinHeight":0,"coalMaxHeight":128,"ironSize":9,"ironCount":20,"ironMinHeight":0,"ironMaxHeight":64,"goldSize":9,"goldCount":2,"goldMinHeight":0,"goldMaxHeight":32,"redstoneSize":8,"redstoneCount":8,"redstoneMinHeight":0,"redstoneMaxHeight":16,"diamondSize":8,"diamondCount":1,"diamondMinHeight":0,"diamondMaxHeight":16,"lapisSize":7,"lapisCount":1,"lapisCenterHeight":16,"lapisSpread":16}
Screenshot/Example world:
6. Strange Repetition
This is probably the weirdest. I don't know why this happens but Idaho (Kinda) is everywhere (I don't know if the seed changes the shape)!
Preset:
{"coordinateScale":2.14748365E9,"heightScale":2.14748365E9,"lowerLimitScale":2.14748365E9,"upperLimitScale":2.14748365E9,"depthNoiseScaleX":2.14748365E9,"depthNoiseScaleZ":2.14748365E9,"depthNoiseScaleExponent":2.14748365E9,"mainNoiseScaleX":2.14748365E9,"mainNoiseScaleY":2.14748365E9,"mainNoiseScaleZ":2.14748365E9,"baseSize":2.14748365E9,"stretchY":2.14748365E9,"biomeDepthWeight":1.0,"biomeDepthOffset":0.0,"biomeScaleWeight":1.0,"biomeScaleOffset":0.0,"seaLevel":63,"useCaves":true,"useDungeons":true,"dungeonChance":8,"useStrongholds":true,"useVillages":true,"useMineShafts":true,"useTemples":true,"useMonuments":true,"useMansions":true,"useRavines":true,"useWaterLakes":true,"waterLakeChance":4,"useLavaLakes":true,"lavaLakeChance":80,"useLavaOceans":false,"fixedBiome":-1,"biomeSize":4,"riverSize":4,"dirtSize":33,"dirtCount":10,"dirtMinHeight":0,"dirtMaxHeight":256,"gravelSize":33,"gravelCount":8,"gravelMinHeight":0,"gravelMaxHeight":256,"graniteSize":33,"graniteCount":10,"graniteMinHeight":0,"graniteMaxHeight":80,"dioriteSize":33,"dioriteCount":10,"dioriteMinHeight":0,"dioriteMaxHeight":80,"andesiteSize":33,"andesiteCount":10,"andesiteMinHeight":0,"andesiteMaxHeight":80,"coalSize":17,"coalCount":20,"coalMinHeight":0,"coalMaxHeight":128,"ironSize":9,"ironCount":20,"ironMinHeight":0,"ironMaxHeight":64,"goldSize":9,"goldCount":2,"goldMinHeight":0,"goldMaxHeight":32,"redstoneSize":8,"redstoneCount":8,"redstoneMinHeight":0,"redstoneMaxHeight":16,"diamondSize":8,"diamondCount":1,"diamondMinHeight":0,"diamondMaxHeight":16,"lapisSize":7,"lapisCount":1,"lapisCenterHeight":16,"lapisSpread":16}

So there are 6 weird presets. I'd like to see someone play survival on one of them
Post your thoughts on them or any other weird presets.
It's a bit of a shame these aren't going to be supported in 1.13, I'd love to see reefs generate on them...

DarkSamus9000 posted a message on Ripped WorldPosted in: Customised WorldsWow, that's a really cool looking world! It bears a close resemblance to the Far Lands, a land generation type that started appearing far into the world before Minecraft Beta 1.8 was released. As of now you can only find the far lands in Pocket Edition, Windows 10 edition, and in 1.9 if you use a new mod.
Could you post the preset configurations? I've never played with the customizable world options in 1.8, but you could probably dive into your world using NBTExplorer to find the settings used to create this world.
If you're interested in the far lands, there's a really interesting page about it at the Minecraft wiki: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Far_Lands

Did you just... create the Far Lands?
We're gonna need to see that preset.

James_4007 posted a message on Ripped WorldPosted in: Customised WorldsI was playing around with the advanced settings trying to get pillars, but instead i like ravines, but with regular land at the bottom, with dirt and trees and animals and stuff! Some of the sides of the "ravines" are 1block thick, and they go all the way to the max height. I added a pic in the attachments.

gittonsxv posted a message on Primordia, the very squished but not flat world.Posted in: Customised Worldsdo you love building UP?do you want to maximize your verticality to build giant spires and high cities instead of wide ones?do you long for a fresh almost alien world?or maybe you just hate digging?
Then i got the world for you, after spending a very long time messing with custom world settings i have made a perfectly normal world that only goes up to about 40-50 on the Y setting, giving you nearly 200 blocks of airspace to play with, ores have also been adjusted so everything from diamond to coal is about 10 blocks down under you.
on top of this the world does not look normal, there are rolling hills in the plains, beaches form long formations that snake across the world, the ocean is gone and in it's place is a wide empty expanse of lush grass, mine shafts are now above ground ruins forming almost roadways from a long gone race, mountains and the extreme hills are now jagged earthen spires and more!
Download
also forgive this terrible post layout and stuff, i am a minecrafter not a...forum..er, you should spawn in a jagged plains next to a roofed forest and a distant jungle.
one last note, tell me what you think, i see many worlds trying to be as big and as expansive as possible but i finding digging a chore and i love building up and all over so i came up with this.

If only
acaciabirch and dark oak wood are static, then won’t villages fall apart on spawn?Other than that, congratulations on getting your mod made! :-)

Thanks for clearing that up. Nice mod!

This is a good idea, but it would be nice to expand the dimension with either a slope off to the void, terrain with similar mountains elsewhere, or both.
In any case (i.e. inside the mountain(s) if void), some unique ores and/or select vanilla ores would be nice if they were to generate (as an incentive to go there and explore) and give loot if created, as well as some dimension-specific structures.
This request is a good idea.
