Is the problem only on the Minecraft server? Can you perform other functions on the machine without any problems?
So far I've had no other issues. This only happens after logging in on the Minecraft server. I can have the server itself running for hours until someone logs in.
Upon reconnecting the screen session will be terminated (I've tried running directly through java as well with the same result.) with nothing in the Minecraft logs about it.
There isn't anything in the logs. It appears to continue as usual with no errors, then immediately stops. (Uncleanly, not through a stop command)
Hey guys, I'm having quite an issue here. I recently moved to Intreppid and have a pretty sweet machine, however when setting up a test server I've ran into a problem.
It seems that I can only be logged in for the most of 3 minutes when I will receive the message "Connection reset by peer: Socket write error." When going to my shell session to see what's up, I'm told there "Software caused connection abort."
Normally these are local internet issues, but this definitely isn't. Upon reconnecting the screen session will be terminated (I've tried running directly through java as well with the same result.) with nothing in the Minecraft logs about it. I run a modded server, however I have tried vanilla as well with the same result. (Worth noting that vanilla doesn't cut off as quickly.) Last night I started the server before going to bed and it was running for 10 hours or so, but once I joined it cut off within a few minutes.
I have contacted Intreppid support about this and have been talking to them, but both of us are stumped. I even tried a complete OS reinstall. There appear to be no usage issues when this happens. Very unlikely that this is a hardware issue, but in case it is, these are the specs:
I like the chests how they were before in size, since they were just like every other Minecraft block, but I like the 3D effect and animation. Now we just need doors to swing open! :tongue.gif:
Notch got married recently, so cut him some slack. I'm sure him and his wife were busy arranging the wedding, and now they are probably still getting settled.
Also, this is 1.8pre. Don't criticize something that isn't done yet.
I don't mind the hunger meter. But I saw in a video that if it's full, you will always have at least half a heart. Is this true? If it is, then that's the only problem I would have with it.
I second this. I love the new update. Yeah, it's buggy, but this is the pretest. The game has much more for exploring now. Abandon villages and mines, huge ravines to explore and rivers to follow, hunts for animals so you don't starve, and how your always watching your back to make sure there isn't an Enderman stalking you.

I'm sure it will be a good way to pass the time while waiting for Toontown Rewritten to open.

120GB SSD + 1TB HDD
i7-4770k Overclocked @ 4.5Ghz
1 Gbps Port
I hope someone here is smarter than I am to figure this out, because I'm completely stumped.
Cheers.

Same thing here on my iMac running Lion. Normal launcher works fine, Magic Launcher gives me a white screen + error.

Make sure to use the furnace patch though to avoid crashing.

If Notch/Jeb wants to keep the dropping XP, then they should make it so it drops a bundle of 10 or 50 XP at a time.
Small Orb = 1xp
Slightly Bigger Orb = 10xp
Biggest Orb = 50xp
