Hey everybody, it's been awhile so I thought I'd pop my head in and say hi. Hi!
Okay so here's my thoughts on the current PVP proposal. Right now the mayors control the PVP action. I think it should be clearly stated in each city whether it is a PVP city or not for right now. I don't see a problem with it staying the way it is. If you want to PVP, join a city with PVP turned on, if you don't, join a peaceful city. And if you've joined a peaceful city and want to go out and fight then go visit PVP cities. I only see this being a problem when the PVP cities start reaching their limits. That's my two cents.
However, I get the feeling that the server is going to move towards the PVP side anyways since it's starting to get more momentum. If that happens, the people who don't want to PVP will just have to be careful.
I haven't been on in awhile, I apologize for that. I've had some personal issues going on and my internet connection has gone from awesomesauce to complete crap. It really sucks. Once I get my connection back to where it needs to be I'll be back on the server to pester you all a bit! Just wanted to check in and see how things were. I hope everyone is doing alright and having a good time. If you're not, you're doing something wrong! The point of a game is to have fun and unwind! I hear you guys have been building some really cool stuff and I can't wait to check them all out! In the mean time I hope you guys are doing well, I'll be back as soon as I can.
Onyx and Synhr are doing a pretty epic job. This is the Arena they've been working on. It's HUGE! There's more pics, I'm sure they'll post them in a bit, but for now, here's your teaser!
PS Im going to get some shots of xur's palace tomorrow when I get a chance. That thing is pretty epic as well. I think the three of them should join the building contest if they have time! I'm going to be floating around tomorrow looking around the rest of the map to see how everyone else is doing, just wanted to point the new wonders out!

Anyways, in regards to Exoaria's temper tantrum (and I swear it rivals that of a toddler)...I suppose he's the kind of person who feels that the offender should decide the punishment for the offense. I always thought that was a screwed up logic. "Yeah you did all this bad stuff but we're going to let YOU decide what your punishment should be." "Oh well by all means, set me up in the pimp-daddy suite with a steak waiting for me." Idiot. Measures will be taken to ensure that you don't cause trouble for other people. It's a courtesy call to other server owners. Don't like it? Get a job, get a server, make your own rules. If that's really the only constructive thing you have to say, go away and don't waste our time.
I've messed with some piston mods on my SSP games. They are interesting and amusing for awhile and you can create some hidden stair cases and maybe secret doors and what not. But it kind of got old to me after about 15 minutes of messing with them and running through a list of scenarios for them in my head. To each his/her own I guess?
I haven't really been on a lot lately. Sorry about that. Things are pretty hectic over here on my end lately.
Anyways, if Lucid does change the faction descriptions, perhaps you can help him out by telling him just what you think has changed, or even come up with an idea of a description yourself? Feedback always helps places like this grow and it's really neat to hear other peoples ideas on how things operate and how they have changed.
I hope everyone's been enjoying themselves and each of your community projects is coming along nicely. I was on for a few minutes yesterday looking around. Hey guys, I'm passing a message for xurblood here. You all know his internet is pretty crappy. It seems as though Raynordude has a contract with B, but for what? I haven't seen him do anything and neither has xur. The contract is extremely vague and that needs to be fixed. What is he building, when is he supposed to be building it, and when is it supposed to be finished? He suggests you all weigh in once those questions are answered with your opinions and then the council takes a vote. Thanks!

We've got tons of conflict over all this griefing of Wesngrad and other such places,
and over the terminology as to whether or not griefing is allowed in the Wilderness. . . .
I mean to ask, could we define "griefing"?
The rules state "no griefing", but Wilderness-griefers have been defended because of the nature of their job.
The question is: Is it against the rules to grief in the Wilderness?

My proposition on this:
Upon implementation, current members have one week to request faction change to this faction. After which, it will not be possible. They have all the privaleges of the other factions, except they have to build in the wild and they do not get a faction chat or the protection that would be provided by living in a faction. This means that global going away will only allow them to communicate in local chat. Their primary perk is all MMO skills. This faction will have to roll with the punches. People are going to probably grief their stuff periodically, although mean spirited griefing against them would certainly be punished with irrefutable proof of the person committing the specific act.
These are my thoughts on things. Does this seem both fair and balanced in our community? What improvements could be made?

Block destruction, block placement, lava/water placement in an area that is not yours in order to cause harm or get an angry response from another player. That is my definition, if we need to add or take away from that definition I'll be glad to hear any opinions on the matter and, as always, lucid is the final word on the subject.
I'm assuming you've all been following the thread for awhile if you have these sorts of complaints. Whether you have or haven't before coming to us with a complaint, and I'm not insulting anyone by saying that, please research the subject before posting your comment. I have put the page number of where I found each of my quotes, so you can all go back and follow the discussion to get a better idea of what is being talked about here. But please, take the time to go back and read through the thread before posting a complaint or a suggestion to make sure that it hasn't already been covered.
I've already expressed my opinion on the matter of faction E and some of the turmoil that will happen within it as well as the issues with malicious behavior. Bring us proof.
And while I'm at it perhaps we should define proof a bit more. proof does not mean taking a picture of the damage. While that helps, it does not point out who did it. Take a picture or a video of the culprit committing the act. That is the proof we need. And also, if you have time after that, take picture or video of the surrounding area to see the extent of the damage done so that we (meaning all of us) in the area or even out of the area can help with the rebuilding or fixing of the area. The version switch tool should automatically download the jars you need. If you do not have the 1.3 jar, start up the program click "download more jars", select beta 1.3_01, add download, when download is complete close out of that screen, go back to the main digiex screen, select the beta 1.3_01 jar and login. BAM! It should be up and running.

I thought those instructions were quite simple to understand. If you're only trying to play the game you don't need to open the jar with winzip or any other program. You just need to follow the above directions. What are you having trouble understanding? It usually helps to tell people which part of the instruction you're having trouble with or don't understand so we have a starting point to help you out. That goes along with explaining the problem you're having completely to the best of your ability. We can't reach through the computer and read your mind, you have to tell us :smile.gif:

you need a program like winrar or 7zip. For windows users you right click on the jar file, open with, winrar/7zip. IDK what it is for mac users.

The version switch tool should automatically download the jars you need. If you do not have the 1.3 jar, start up the program click "download more jars", select beta 1.3_01, add download, when download is complete close out of that screen, go back to the main digiex screen, select the beta 1.3_01 jar and login. BAM! It should be up and running.
