    Also, not to be rude, but why are you so on your high-horse about including this mod in modpacks? The Fossil/Archeology Mod isn't allowed to be put in modpacks, but at least the makers of it explain that.

    Sorry for quotemining, and I know you're still not doing it, but who said Mo' Creatures had to be open-source for there to be an extension for it? Craftable Mobs has an extension for it. Besides, I'll make my own dinosaur mod, with blackjack and hookers. Just kidding, but in all seriousness, I really do hope this mod goes off without a hitch.

    I have an idea for this mod, and you can take it or leave it, but I was thinking that there could be an extension for Mo' Creatures. I'm thinking that the animals could be bred to look more realistic based on how much "pure" DNA you have. While decoding the genome, in the meantime, gaps can be filled in with the DNA of the animals' "modern" relatives. For the dinosaurs and pterosaur(s), that's birds, crocodiles, and, possibly, wyverns, for the mosasaur and plesiosaur, the Komodo dragon, for the Smilodon, which I think needs revamping, that's the BigCats, and for the mammoth, which I think should be overwritten with the Mo' Creatures one, that's, of course, elephants. It may be a tad complicated, but, hey, it's worth a shot.

    I've had this idea for a while, and I'm hoping someone will help me out with this. This mod will, like the Fossil/Archeology Mod, allow you to bring extinct creatures to life, but in this mod, you actually have to reconstruct the animals' genomes. This prompts players to keep going out to search for fossils to extract DNA from. In the meantime, you can use DNA from close living relatives to fill in genetic gaps, allowing you to choose how realistic the animal looks. It should include the following mobs:
    • Dodo (can be bred from chickens, small birds*, turkeys* or ostriches*)
    • Aurochs (can be bred from cows)
    • Entelodon (can be bred from pigs)
    • Hyracotherium (can be bred from horses)
    • Hyaenodon (can be bred from wolves or ocelots)
    • Terror Bird (can be bred from chickens, small birds*, turkeys* or ostriches*)

    The mod should also include a content pack for Mo' Creatures, like the one for Craftable Mobs. This extension will add more mobs, which are as follows:
    • Velociraptor (can be bred, like all the dinosaurs~, from birds and/or reptiles)
    • T. rex
    • Triceratops
    • Dilophosaurus
    • Stegosaurus
    • Brachiosaurus
    • Pteranodon
    • Ankylosaurus
    • Pachycephalosaurus
    • Spinosaurus
    • Compsognathus
    • Deinonychus
    • Coelophysis
    • Parasaurolophus
    • Acrocanthosaurus
    • Archaeopteryx
    • Troodon
    • Oviraptor
    • Mosasaurus (can be bred from crocodiles or Komodo dragons)
    • Plesiosaurus (breeding similar to Mosasaurus)
    • Liopleurodon (the non-magical kind [breeding similar to Mosasaurus])
    • Smilodon (can be bred from BigCats or kitties)
    • Mammoth^ (can be bred from elephants)
    • Irish Elk (can be bred from deer)

    Each animal should have different models, each representing different amounts of "pure" DNA. To be as original as possible, I don't want to use the F/A models. Instead, except for the mammoth (explained below), I want new models for all the creatures. It sounds like a tall order, but with enough of the right people, this can be done in as timely a manner as possible.
    *Only with the Mo' Creatures extension.
    ~Also encompasses pterosaurs.
    ^Mo' Creatures extension should stop mammoths naturally spawning and require players to breed them for themselves.

    I'm so glad to hear that this is going to be open-source, because I have tons of ideas that, if not implemented, I could have someone mod into the game. For example, I'd want an option to choose how realistic you want the dinosaurs, pterosaurs, sea monsters, prehistoric beasts, what-have-you, based on which percentage of the genome you want, but not many people would be interested in having that.

    I was reading "Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You", when I thought that it would make a good mod. It will feature all the faeries* from "The Spiderwick Chronicles", as well as some that aren't, like vampires, werewolves, and ghouls (like zombies, but fast, and with batlike faces).

    *Note: "Faerie", in "The Spiderwick Chronicles", refers not only to sprites and pixies, but also creatures like giants, elves, dragons, unicorns, gargoyles, griffins, etc.

    To see faeries, you need a seeing stone, which is made by putting a ring of cobblestone in a crafting table. The seeing stone will send you to the Invisible World, which is exactly like the overworld, except that the days pass by more quickly.

    I have an idea for you, DrZhark. How about you add the option to overwrite the vanilla horses in the 1.6 update? You've spent too long on your own horses to let all that hard work go to waste. Also, I think you should change your ideas about the dragons you plan to implement later. How about a breeding system similar to the horses, but with more colors? Breath-weapons could be determined by different things that you feed the dragon as it grows. For example, you grow the dragon on blaze powder, it will breathe fire. I'll post more ideas on the mob suggestion thread.
