Mar 4, 2013jlp1528 posted a message on Another Snaphot, You Say? 13w10a Ready For TestingWhat do you mean, lighting will never be fixed? Mojang is completely rewriting the lighting engine for this update. Why? Because they finally realized something we have known for a while now: no matter how many times they've "fixed" the lighting in the past, somehow it's still messed up. Judging by how many snapshots they're throwing out and all the bug fixes listed for them, I have confidence that they're committed to getting it right this time. Maybe that's just my two cents, I don't know. Perhaps a poll on that question, "Will this update fix the lighting once and for all?" is in order?Posted in: News

It's a automatic thing linked to the amount of posts you got, you got that rank when you had 42 posts and i know there's a rank for 666 posts, i'm not sure on how many of theses 'special' ranks there are
List of all ranks including secret ranks right here:

Looks like 9 special ranks. -
Jul 31, 2012jlp1528 posted a message on Community Creations - L4D2 Minecraft; MineTV Ep2 This WeekOops. Almost forgot. Everyone should definitely check out Minecraft Land Generator, Minecraft Overviewer, and Minecraft Xray. Those programs are for terrain pregeneration, world mapping, and easy location of whatever blocks you'd like to locate, respectively. I'm getting tired though so I'm not going to bother posting links. Seriously, that's what Google is for. Plus they're going to update anyway, so why bother? They're not all extremely easy to work with, but they are very well-made, and they have plenty of options, functions, and benefits. Try them. You'll like them. Why wouldn't you? As always, remember to give credit where credit is due. And, as always, keep on Minecraftin'! Bye for now guys.Posted in: News

Which is it? And yeah, the waiting game does suck lol. Oh well. I'm sure it will be worth it. If not, here's an epic seed that will make it worth it:Posted in: News

It puts you right in the middle of a village!
Also, there are two more villages somewhat nearby, as well as plenty of cave systems and ravines to explore.
Shoutout and huge thank-you to z3bbster for finding this seed. See the original thread here:

Before you ask, it still works great on 1.3. I checked with the pre-release. Trading time! -

Jul 31, 2012jlp1528 posted a message on Community Creations - L4D2 Minecraft; MineTV Ep2 This WeekOkay, two things:Posted in: News
1 - We should really get a countdown timer for bigger updates like this one.
2 - The "Upcoming Features" page on the wiki now lists 1.3.1 as the first "near future" update, but it still says August 1st. It does list a lot of bugfixes though so I guess a lot gets done in five days, although I'm not sure how. -
Jul 31, 2012jlp1528 posted a message on Community Creations - L4D2 Minecraft; MineTV Ep2 This WeekThat's sort of what I meant. Just how many bugs can they fix in a mere 5 days?Posted in: News

Jul 31, 2012jlp1528 posted a message on Community Creations - L4D2 Minecraft; MineTV Ep2 This WeekWait a sec. When do updates get pushed anyway? Midnight Sweden time? Or some other time? And just how much difference is there from a pre-release build to a final build when the pre-release becomes available just a few days before the final release is pushed to everyone? Just wondering. Anyone know?Posted in: News

I know. I just found that word funny. Also, what is this new upcoming thing? Some kind of mega-CVT?

Also, I thought I'd share my funny of the day...

SCREWDRIVERABLE?! WTF

Funny... that made me realize something - I think 950 MW must be toward the limit of what 5 turbines like that can produce. I'd have to do some more testing myself to be sure, but I'd think about adding another turbine if I were you, cathode01...Also, what texture pack?

I think you can, but I'm not entirely sure how. I remember it being said that if you have RotaryCraft, the radar and guns will be cheaper, but require RotaryCraft power. I'm not sure of the power requirements of the radar (and I don't use it anyway), but I do know that the guns would require 524.288 kW per tier. Pro tip - 524.288 kW happens to be the exact output of a chainable hydrokinetic engine. Anyway, in your case, I'm not sure how you'd make them. However, I can tell you that no, NEI would absolutely NOT require Tekkit. Seriously, it's just like any other mod. Just because it has a dependency (CCC - CodeChickenCore), does NOT mean it would be that hard to add. Clearly you know how to install a few mods... just read the instructions on the "ChickenBones' mods" thread.

Dude, seriously? It's called NEI - Not Enough Items. Look it up.

As for you Seiryn, lol. I think you're running into the same wacky problem I was, and it actually has nothing to do with any of Reika's mods. Do you have Railcraft? Because if so, check to see that you're not carrying around any firestone ore. It does indeed do exactly what it says in NEI - "burning everything except flesh, you can feel the very air change around you..." or something like that. Yes, you read that right - if you're carrying the ore, or even the firestone itself until it's completely refined, it will light fires around you. Put it in a backpack (Project: Red backpacks, Backpacks mod backpacks/big backpacks, Forestry miner's backpack, Factorization golden bag of holding, Ender Pouch... take your pick) or any other non-player inventory and you're fine though.
Also, once refined, it's an interesting tool - toss it into a big lake of lava in the nether to recharge it. It will eat lava blocks to charge and, as a bonus, free obsidian! It has 5000 charges, each of which can smelt one item in the furnace (I think, haven't messed with it much). Not to mention you actually get a 25% chance of double output on some things... in the vanilla furnace.
I will warn you of something else though - those diamond pickaxes you use to cut the raw firestone? Yes - those get consumed. Worth it? Not sure yet. I guess the obsidian is nice, as I'm always running out of obsidian for the hardened glass that goes into anything even slightly higher up on the tech tree of Thermal Expansion. What would be really interesting is if we could use it in the RotaryCraft heater to for as much or as little heat as we want. After all, the vanilla furnace accepts it, but it's more of a raw energy storage crystal type thing than a standard fuel. Would you be interested in supporting such a thing, Reika?
