This is great news. I'm really excited that they are stepping it up with infinite worlds, caves, and minecarts. Once 9.0 is released MCPE will definitely be getting bumped up the list of my favorite mobile games.

posted a message on Mash-up packs *sigh*
Agreed. I was curious about this first one, but after using it I can safely say that I will never buy a mash-up pack, ever. Even if the next one is based on the greatest video game ever made, I couldn't be less interested. You'd think after such a long wait for new textures that 4J would have given us something that the majority of players would be interested in (a more realistic texture pack, etc.), but you would be wrong.

But hey, it's all good. I've also owned MCPE for about two years, so I fully expect to be disappointed with Minecraft on every system but PC.

Whoops. I made a mistake. Still, everything else I said is true. You still need to quit getting so butt hurt over the slow development of a video game and wait patiently.

In my experience, people who use the term "butthurt" are idiots who feel the need to belittle someone because they don't have anything intelligent to say. Take that how you will.

Mojang is asking us to support them during development, but they are not investing that money into development. The fact is they haven't needed support during development for a long time, and you're getting the wool pulled over your eyes. When Notch was working on Minecraft in the beginning, it was completely understandable that he would sell the game in alpha to support further development. Now, this practice is only driven by greed and laziness. They could have easily contracted the work out like they did with the Xbox edition, made everyone happy, and still turned a large profit. Originally I assumed they wanted to test the waters before investing heavily in a mobile game, but after almost 2 years of development and millions of sales, MCPE is still neglected. Mojang knows its audience, and that audience is full of morons who will blindly praise and defend everything they do against their own self-interest. This thread contains several examples of that.

Anyway, enjoy your boring, broken game, Mojang fanboys! You've earned it. Keep telling yourself it's the best game ever, and pat yourself on the back for defending poor Mojang while they enjoy their undeserved fortune and laugh at all the fanboys who aren't smart enough to realize they're being duped.

Yes People have their rights to complain but why complain mcpe is plenty enough to satisfy your boredom unless you have no other games in your phone except mcpe.Mojang does have the resources to make the game but the one thing they're lacking is a very important part in business SUPPORT.Have some empathy.

I'll give an idea of what they might be thinking.

Jeb:Everyone hates mcpe why work hard on it anymore.
Johan:yes.all I see on the forums and appstore is oh survival craft is better mcpe sucks.

The only way I would play MCPE at this point is if it were the only game on my phone. Since it's not, I only play it when a new update comes out, but after a few minutes I'm always bored and disappointed, so I turn it off and forget about it until the next update.

They should be working hard because it's their job. It's not our job to emotionally support these people.

Ah, I must have overlooked that because it's the complete opposite of what you said.

NoXthin: MCPC lags a lot, so how could it only be 50mb?

You: people are saying it MUST run on mobile devices because of it's small file size.

Ha! NOBODY knows what they're talking about! People saying that the game is small in terms of file size, so it MUST be able to run on phones and tablets! No. Just no. This game is compiled of COMPLETLEY BRAND NEW CODE. They can't just add everything in! They have to make sure everything works just as it does in the PC version by coding everything from scratch. SurvivalCraft does have a lot of features, but it doesn't feel or play like Minecraft like PE does. So quit complaining about the lack of features like a spoiled child. Just be happy with what you have.

Is that a straw man argument? Please direct me to where someone said because the file size is small that it should run on mobile devices. I look forward to your response.

You act as if Mojang is running a charity, and we should be thankful to get anything at all. This game has been in development for almost 2 years and has sold over 10 million copies at a premium price, yet the amount of content doesn't reflect that. Their entire business model is based on customers supporting development starting at the alpha stage, but Mojang isn't holding up their end of the deal. People have every right to complain.

I think almost everyone knows Mojang could do better, but for whatever reason they won't. Minecraft is a great game, and that's why it can be so frustrating to see MCPE neglected like it is. If Mojang were to step up their game, I'd be right there cheering with the rest of you. I'd probably never play SurvivalCraft again, because I'm a bigger fan of Minecraft. Until then I have what amounts to a demo of Minecraft that I don't really enjoy playing.

As on the pc says, Minecraft needs java and a better graphics card to run. Well, do any of the devices I mentioned have either java or a graphics card? No.

That is irrelevant, and I'm not going to bother explaining why. Sooner or later you're just going to have to admit you don't know what you're talking about.

Do you even know how hard it is to add more thongs like those in Minecraft PE? Perhaps you don't even know what's the difference between a pc and an android or an ios. Just adding those things will fill your device with a dozen gigabytes or more, and of course, the two devices don't have java or even a graphics card. Bug fixes are easy, though. You guys are discussing in an MCPE Discussion thread, not SurvivalCraft. You should be embarrassed, not Mojang. Interesting...I said too much words...

You don't know what you're talking about. Minecraft for PC is about 50 megabytes, and I have several games on my phone that are many times that size.

Why are the names of wool, slabs, dyes, and others are different??? The different colors of wool are named "Wool". The slabs and dyes are named as if they were being coded into the program.

Because 5 months just isn't enough time to name items correctly. Plus they were hidden away in the crafting table menu that nobody ever uses.

    Ok,
Can you do something for me?
Open mcpe, look in the bottom left corner
    See the text there??
    It's say ALPHA
Do you know what that means?, that were ALPHA testers, of an ALPHA game, meaning that there's going to be bugs, and they are going to get fixed.
So 1, no mojang are not lazy, there going to release a fix as soon as they can
And 2, I don't praise everything mojang touches, eg. in my opinion scrolls is a really stupid game
So, people like YOU should let others have their opinion

Mojang is greedy and lazy. They have millions of dollars pouring in and what do they do? Hire one full-time developer and laugh all the way to the bank. They're not investing even a small fraction of that money into development. Why not? I bought the game over a year ago knowing it was in alpha, but expected development to ramp up as more people invested in it. Where is our money going? 4J Studios has brought the Xbox version from Beta 1.6.6 to the full version of 1.1 in about a year. The Android version will have been out for 2 years in October, and the iOS version in November. Does MCPE seem like a game that has been in development for almost 2 years? How is it that a lone developer, as a hobby, is wiping the floor with a company that has millions of dollars at their disposal? There is no good reason. I suspect the reason is they don't care about us, but they're happy to take our money, and throw themselves parties for selling millions of copies of a game in which they've invested almost nothing. Good for them. I'm glad they've become so rich for so little. Now, will you please give me the game I paid for? Many of us didn't buy MCPE for what it currently is, but for what we expected it to become, and it looks more and more like Mojang couldn't care less about giving us that. Screw that, and screw them. I will never give them another dime of my money, and I will advise others to avoid supporting them every chance I get.

But please, continue defending them. Poor little Mojang just wants to make us happy, and we're being all mean about not being able to play a broken, worthless update we waited 5 months for.

Frankly, at the rate this is going I don't think they can afford adding much extra stuff, soon enough nothing under iPhone 4/5 and highend tablets will be able to run this game smoothly.

It got released with huge problems, and people still don't see that MCPE is not taken too seriously by Mojang! They got their millions already, why would they? Hire a game tester Mojang, they're cheap!

I doubt the performance problems have anything to do with content. If that were the case, how would anyone explain SurvivalCraft? It runs flawlessly on my phone at the maximum settings.

What happened to everyone at the Mojang office trying to "break" the game? Not a single person used a furnace during this testing period? Not a single person used the newly added buckets? Not a single person realized that the d-pad is smaller than the tip of their thumb? What exactly were they doing?
