I have a bukkit server and was wondering if there is a bukkit 1.8 .jar for download. I know that they have taken down their download page but i dont know if they still are developing any more. Does anyone know about 1.8 or future .jar's?
That is good, and for future reference, you do not want to post your ip on the internet. This can lead to computer hacking that could compromise your computers data. But im glad it got fixed!
It may be that the server is bad, you might have slow Internet. Other than that im not sure what could be the problem. I used hamachi for a while and it was very slow and laggy. There are many other VPN's you could try. I used Comodo Unite and i didnt have as many problems as i did with hamachi but i only used it for a short while.
Well this might be nothing but in your server properties, you havnt placed your ip in the file. Under server-ip place your ip. then run the server and it should work.
I dont know what the code means but i can help you trouble shoot. I would first try creating a new server with that same .jar You dont need to delete the olde one just create a new folder. Create a new world and see if you get the same error. If it still doesnt work then there might be a problem with the .jar (I would recomend trying to download a new one) or you might need to update java.
if you take out the .jar of each plugin(you dont need to take out the file folders) then the effects of the plugins will not effect the server. (On a side note, is your problem just at spawn because there is a spawn protection area that could be your problem)
Your problem is that you haven't port fowarded. in order for anyone not connected to your internet to connect you need to portfoward. This can be solved by googling: Portfoward Minecraft Server
Place the .jar in a folder that you want your server in(all the files)
Double click the .jar This will generate files after a few seconds. I suggest waiting 45 seconds to make sure all the files generate.
Open a text document and paste:
java -Xmx1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar -o true PAUSE
Save the file as run.bat (if you are on a windows machine at the bottom where it says save as click the box to say All Files)
If you double click the run.bat file (this is in the folder where youre server is) it will open the server on *.*.*:25565 This means it is a local host. To change the ip go into the server properties file and you can change it to your computers ip.
Bam! you got a server. To log on from the base server on the LAN in Minecraft in the ip type localhost
To find your IP:
For Windows:
Open Command prompt
type ipconfig and press enter
Look for your IPV4 address under the Wireless LAN Adapter for wifi and Ethernet LAN adapter for a wired connection.
This is what goes in your server config.
Your new ip is the one you found :25565 unless you changed the port (the 25565)
I think that even though essentials doesnt have a offical build for 1.8, the latest version should work. Just put in your plugins folder and start the server and see if there are any errors. If not then your good.
Many servers build/code their own plugins. If you see a big server with essentials for 1.8, they probably coded it to work with 1.8 if it didnt work with the older .jar

You might want to type /rg f world chest-access allow
This will allow all players to access chests in the entire world regardless of op or not.
Note: if this doesnt work try chest access as one word without the -

What do you name the file?
