It's a glitch ffs. I assume it was because of their copy-pasting of the slab code that they forgot to change the properties when they made the wooden slab. Oh, and it IS fixed, a few snapshots ago.
Minecraft Wiki:

But my opinion is, this can help Minecraft be a better game. Think of it, you could build a robot, then another.
And when you had a huge army of them, say to yourself "Hmm managing all of them will be tough".
And think about how hard it is to program it, it adds more awesomesauce to redstone, as he said "Smarter"
he literally meant it.

I didn't know there was a Minecraft papercraft,but last week I just made one (I had trouble with MS Paints scale)
That night was surely wasted.

I don't invest time on projects, and I ususally just quit after 30 minutes, i'm not fond of projects taking LONG to build.
Well, I did one once, it took 2 weeks, 10 blocks away from completion, and in the next week.... It was griefed, ENTIRELY.... My mistake was I put that in the guest world >.> xD. It was soooooo epic. But if you can give me tips on how NOT to be lazy, I might just build whatever you want me to do.
