why those three?
endermen look like the drawings of a four year old.
I dont mind waiting for strongholds.
EXP needs to be different. one exp bar for everything makes it really idiotic. why should you get xp only for killing things anyway? I want exp for playing the game not combat. I want to level up for mining, woodcutting, building/crafting, and combat. honestly I avoid fighting in minecraft so I can enjoy it when I have to do it. now with this exp system fighting is required. -

nice reference. the game just has to eb the best of both worlds. also i want adventure mode, but with good leveling, no permadeath, and the villages. death is a part of minecraft that i don't let exsist, but if it were to happen i'm not going to pay for it like that, because with good leveling there isn't just one exp bar but one for each skill.
check out my suggestions thread. i think i got a good set up for levels right now. (that goes out to all the people who agree that one EXP isn't enough) -
Jul 20, 2011jasonwolf posted a message on Notch Reveals Leveling and PermadeathPosted in: Newsyou can fight for you stuff without levels if you can do it now.
I want levels. i really do just not character levels. the level system needs to be based on what you do in the game. if you cut down trees you get points to you're forestry level. if you shoot zombies with a bow you get points to your ranged level. if you dont get this just go check out suggestions thread and find me there. -

Good job, jason.
are you being serious? sarcasm is hard to tell online some times.
i just had to be honest though. i love RPGs and i love minecraft. the way to put them together is to use the customizable interactive parts of minecraft and the thrilling adventures and accomplishment of an RPG. I just hope Notch realizes it. -
Jul 20, 2011jasonwolf posted a message on Notch Reveals Leveling and PermadeathThis is what i just posted in my suggestion thread right after reading this. my thread is all about 1.8 upgrades like how to make the RPG part of the game very customizable/sandbox style:Posted in: News
skills and stats are about to be updated. EXP bar is confirmed, but it seems like its going to suck. sadly levels will not be based on use of a skill.
atleast thats how it seems. instead the exp bar seems to be a lvl up metheod. this means that after gaining EXP you go up a level and you get some kind of bonues to stats. this means there will be no customizable skills or stats.
I say **** OFF! thats not even RPG. thats just rubish, and losing EXP by dieing!? wtf Notch!? if we lose levels then we can't go back and fight back for our stuff or anything. Everyone loves the custom sandbox feel in this game it needs to be carried on through the level system. using one EXP bar just can't work in this game. single EXP bars are for battling RPGs like pokemon or dragon quest. in minecraft we need to improve all skills not just one. thats why we need exp bars for every skill.
anyway due to this sad update I'm going to be doing alot more with levels and stats. I was hoping for Notch to make it so players got to choose what to improve by working on that skill, but instead they get a bonus to woodcutting for killing chikens. I'm making my stats that way. you can choose to work hard at skills to make them what you want and get extra abilities for doing so.
Sorry about the flame. I just hope that 1.8.1 or 1.9 will fix that if notch does do it sooner.
i don't want to be mean but sheesh Notch don't you get that there are alot of different aspects ot this game? Lvls have to apply to everything fi you are going to have them. that one EXP just won't cut it. -
Jul 19, 2011jasonwolf posted a message on 1.8 Updates: Taller Worlds, Delicious Foodssheesh it took them long enough to add more meat. no offense, but having porkchops as the main and near only way to restore health makes it sound like a goofy arcade game not an epic adventure/sandbox/simulation/epicness.Posted in: News
i just hope that the bar next to health which is most likely hunger is optional. i prefer to just use a mod that adds hunger, thirst, and energy. also if that one bar is EXP like everyone seems to think I hope there is some specific stat upgrades. i'd prefer to upgrade my archery and hunting (theres an idea) skills compared to sword and idk swimming skill. oh well i can still just suggest my heart out on my suggestion thread. - To post a comment, please login.

Role-Play Exp.: I’ve been in two big MC RP servers, Aeonis and RetroFuture. I moderated a small RP server, and built an entire city myself for one of its factions. I have around six years of Forum RP exp, and even more time has been spent writing stories.
Why Us: Well I’ve done my fair share of Rping and MC, but I’ve found I like MC better with mods, and Rping better with bigger servers. Seeing as yours fits both rather nicely I thought I’d see if it matched my expectations.
Time You Can Dedicate: I hope to dedicate at least an hour everyday, but over the period of a week I hope to get around eighteen hours. I’ll be honest without actually being on the server I have to just go off of what I get from the post, so my dedication is based on how much I enjoy the server.
Have you played Assassin's Creed? I’ll be honest no. I’ve watched tons of game play, but I sadly never could play it.

Name: Jason Tyr Wolf
Gender: male
Age: 17
Fears: claustrophobia and he fears the destruction of his home, since it was passed down through his family.
Personality: Jason is a bit cocky for who he is. Being only an average blacksmiths apprentice Jason comes off as overly confident and self center at least when you first meet him because he doesn‘t accept anything less then perfection. He really just wants to prove he actually is worth more then his class. Once you really get to meet him, Jason is a very dedicated person and he’s got some solid values.
Skills: Smithing, innovative thinking, and weapon proficiency.
Nickname (Optional): none
RP Example (Add Dialogue): (since you didn’t specify I’ll assume in-game/MC style.)
Jason: *pokes coals with tongs, and lets out a heavy sigh. Heads to bellows and pumps air into furnace.*
Master Smith Radin: Jason you got that new sword finished?
Jason: Yes sir. I was just checking the furnace. Anyway sir are you sure you want me to handle the store alone til you return?
Radin: yes of course. I’ve taught you well, and it’s only a month or so.
Jason: yeah a MONTH! I’m really not too sure.
Radin: well I am, so best make sure you’re ready.
Jason: alright *sigh* I guess I best get the orders organized.
Skin (Link, picture, description):
Backstory (1-2 LONG paragraphs):
Jason Wolf was the common son of a common man. He was sent off to apprentice under the Smith Master Radin at a young age. He’s spent more of his life as an apprentice then with his father. Jason is very happy as a smith he finds his skill suited for the work.
Besides his mundane work as a smith’s apprentice. Jason stays very interested in their customers. Often they supply some very strange people with some very strange weapons. Master Radin mostly handles those orders though. Jason really wants to know who these strangers are. He’s become fascinated with the weapons, and desires to see what kind of man uses them.
Jason has been very distant from his real family for the majority of his life. He hasn’t even spoken to his father in three years. He basically sees Radin as his father these days. Its nothing against his father its just that with his apprenticeship Jason isn’t spending time with his family, and Jason knows that his apprenticship is his start to his future.

What is Roleplay? Role play is creating a character to part take in a fictional story. The easiest way to explain it would be to call it a story with hundreds of authors.
What is Metagaming? Using OOC (out of character) information for the good of your character.
What is Powergaming? Some one you’d call OP. they have made themselves so perfect they can’t lose. They don’t get hurt, or hit, or die, or anything bad. Along with that they don’t just not lose they always win too.
What is Assassin's Creed? Assassin’s creed is a game in which the main character is able to relive the lives of his ancestors through the animus. He works with the brotherhood of assassins to fight the templars and prevent them form controlling the world.

the simplest thing I have to say is don't mess with old items, and the new ones leave those alone until the devs perfect them. Finally stop trying to be cool by suggesting things like this. they lack purpose and they lack logic. when you make suggestions try to keep them in line with what the items are. your saying you want coins to be armor. yes thats logical. I'm just gonna go ahead and melt my pennies down into armor. I get minecraft isnt realistic the point is there is still logic behind most things.
a precious gem is used as cash. logic.
cash is used as armor. illogical.

Btw i was an elf since i saw another member.
anyway, i'm just wondering about some building. when i join, if i may, i'd like to build the ruins of the Red Wolf encampment, and was wondering if that'd be ok? it'd just be some basic stuff. ruined tents and the like. only thing is I'd want to protect it from being mistaken for junk. just asking for ideas. think of this as atmosphere.

Name: Jason "Scrapyard" Wolf aka Scavenger Wolf aka The Blood red wolf
Age: 17
Apearence: your average teen rust dweller. he wears dusty brown clothes that show their ware. He has gloves for when manning his forge, and goggles for many occasions. (ill get pics soon)
RP ex. : (of course i can't just copy and paste *sigh*) ((btw I did see that most ppl had MC style posts, but since Jason is alone in the wild thers not too many people to talk to .)
Embers rose from the hot bed of coal and collected on the ceiling before vanishing. Jason poked the coals with his tongs, and decided he'd have to head out for more soon. Living alone in the Rust was not easy. At least it wasn't for anyone else either. Even A.I.R. lackies had a hard time here. They made great targets for Scavenger Wolf. Jason chuckled to himself and grabbed his jacket and bandana. he put the bandana over his mouth and pulled down his goggles before putting on the jacket. With "B.O.W" (backline oppressing weapon) in hand Jason headed into the wastes and searched for a target. plenty of people tried to traverse the wastes, but those who could make it across often had more then they needed. Jason relieved those people of their extra weight. Tonight his fire would burn bright, and his steel glow like the sun.
(MC style)
*pokes coals with tongs*
*sigh* "guess I'll need to head out."
*grabs jacket and bandana as well as B.O.W*
*puts on jacket and coat*
"Scavenger Wolf wil hunt well tonight." *chuckles*
"Keep an eye out for the blood red wolf" *howls as he leaves his cliff cave shelter.*
Backstory: Jason grew up under the guidance of a tiny nomadic, the Red Wolves, group in the rust. They had recruited Jason after he showed endurance or at least stubbornness by surviving the rust for a few weeks after an airship crash. It was amazing he walked away, but he lost most memories. basic things like his name and home town too. The red wolves adopted Jason and trained him as a Scavenger wolf. his job was to gather scrap, but Jason went a step farther and learned smithing. He became a great builder before his time with the Red Wolves ended.
two years ago the Red Wolves were slaughtered by a raiding group. Jason was gone at the time out doing his job. When he returned everyone was dead. With no home Jason took what he knew and used it to survive alone. Even now he honors the Red Wolves, and seeks that tribe who attacked them. His nicknames come from him spending so much time working at being a scavenger and smith of course. Jason goes by Scavenger Wolf when he's raiding and scrap gathering.
He currently resides in a secret cliffside cave, but he's started heading towards society. Sometimes getting real materials is better then scrap. Jason also has gotten word of the Clankers needing some new blood. With being alone becoming such a burden Jason has started to consider joining up.

anyway I like the idea of more decorative blocks that are just simple additions because if we go asking for tons of new stone blocks we'd have to completely redo ore and stoen generation. its not worth it. But yeah more things like the detailed versions of blocks.

Twisted's idea sounds good, but the name is iffy and sneaking being sped up could be negetive as well. maybe tenacity or dexterity? the point with sneaking is when you use it to carefully manuever around its easier if you are going slower. it also seems counter intuitive.

Anyway when I started MC I started otu in peaceful thinking it was peaceful only because it didn't have creepers. I expected to see everything else, but seems I was wrong.
Now I'd be happy to see creepers turned off in some mode, but easy still needs to be what it is since if you go up to normal then all mobs get buffed, and well some people just aren't at that level yet.

10. Slabs & Steps
I'm kicking this off with a classic. Notch once said his least favorite addition to MC was slabs, but he added that they were kept since they enabled us to do so much more. Slabs & Steps are ten on this list for three reasons; they are commonly suggested, they are often over done when suggested, and they aren't all too useful.
Whenever I see slabs and steps suggested there seems to be a list naming of every other block in the game as a good slab/step. Really we only need a select few (in my opinion), because going overboard with anything is still going overboard.
logs: because they are a basic and common block.
Mossy cobble: because cobble can.
netherack/brick: because its a common block in special builds, and is uber common.
sandstone: maybe not for all the kinds, but stairs (i believe) still haven't been added.
None of the resources blocks (iron, gold, etc.), no physics blocks, no glass, no glowstone, no dirt, and nothing else that isn't a reasonable material (on the criteria that you'd see it used to build a basic MC house as part of the house itself, or on the idea that it would have uses other then creative builds [ie: being reasonable]. I also excluded the resource blocks on the idea they are meant as storage, and you could not get the resources back.)
Recap: All slab & steps would now be: planks, logs, cobble, smooth stone, stone brick, sandstone, brick, netherrack/brick.
9. Trees
Oh the joy of starting a new world, and getting back to those tree punching roots (pun intended). The simple oak has stood the test of time, and proven the most known and common tree in minecraft. Now it's time for it to grow up.
Right now most oaks grow rather small around five, four, or six logs and two layers of leaves. These little trees are fine, but in a forest they feel like shrubs. In the new(ish) jungle biome we see trees towering over us at upwards of 60 blocks tall.
The oak really doesn't need to be that big, but by making 6 the minimun trunk height for oaks then making "big" oaks (around nine logs tall with stubby branches) the basic and most common oak in addition to making giant oaks (the big trees we either love or hate) a good lot more common the forests of minecraft could feel a bit more big and interesting.
Think about it. If steve is two blocks tall that means he's what 2 meters or around 6 foot? I don't know about you, but where I live the trees are about twice as tall as my house, and I'm about half as tall as my house. Do the math and it comes out with trees in MC being only about 15 feet tall. Bigger trees would help open up the forests make them feel like a place where you can find more then trees.
Now big trees do pose some issues: light levels, chopping them down, and growth.
In fancy settings leaf blocks can be seen through. I'd suggest they let a reduced amount of light through making it bright enough for monsters not to spawn in the day.
Chopping the bigger trees down could take a bit more time, but you'd get more wood per tree and there are some easy ways to cut down the giant trees (ex. climbto the top and work your way down).
when it comes to growth i'd suggest periodic growth. going from normal to big to giant over time.
Pine and birch trees seem fine as they are, but could get larger versions if only to fit in.
Recap: bigger oaks, better forests, periodic growth.
8: structure spawning
I don't know if this has happenef to you, but i hate it when randomly generated structures get ruined by terrain. massive floating mines, towns built over ravines, strongholds merged into caves. I can't stand these structures being torn up by the terrain. when they spawn all the terrain should change to fit not the structure, or at least some fixes so that they aren't just floating and awkward.
7: Wolves
I just love my blocky little bundle of fuzzy joy, and I couldn't stand to loose him. instead of dying wolves should either run away towards spawn, or respawn at spawn, but be sitting so they can't tp.
6: More basic blocks
not much to say the addition of more block with the point of letting us build more is key to MC. This number specifically is for basic no use blocks. ones that are for decor and for building rather then items or something else.
5: (half way) Nether additions
The nether could really use some work. firstly id suggest more blocks instead of jusr endless netherrack. giant shrooms could be cool too. I know the nether is meant tl be hard, but less lava. it seems as of late the lava is just there to show you where you cant go. In MC you can just build over or around it, and nothing stops you. (having errors finish later).

crits and random combat is fine. Especially since you can pick when to cause crits if you're any good.
random drops annoy me, but 0 drops haven't caused me any trauma so I can't argue a point against them. Only ever been a tiny thing im used to.
never cared about block drops either. they just drop like they drop.
Enchanting is just plain broke. its not just luck its a crapy system.

I mean sure sometimes the land is bland, but I don't want to have everywhere be extremely, how do i put this, rugged? the point is I spend enough time trying to get a good flat area to set up my home in. I do not need my forest spawning all willy nilly over a mountain making it impossible to get wood. Nor do I need another mountain, only this time made of sand blocking my path. The current terrain gen makes travel a lot easier since most biomes are generally flat. To have to deal with important biomes spawning over awkward terrain would make things quite harder in a non-game-improving way.
Im not here to debate increased difficulty, but i will say unnecessary work isnt a fun addition. Overall im fine with the current terrain, so long as they add some logic for biome spawns. Snowy junlges. Even i minecraft they are rediculous.

Eagles seem over all OP. A flying mob with 15 hearts and that big. the thing would mortify new players, and then kill them. I'm biased in the flying mob debate, but your eagle is a monster surpassing even the ghast and rivaling the enderman.
Eagle: purely no, due to OP and lack of possible balance.
I like your bears. big grouchy animals that will happily maul your face. Only problem is drops. The reason wolves drop nothing (and ocelots too) is because they are meant to be tamed. they provide use through a different means. bears could drop leather, meat, and/or fish.
Bears: agreed, fixed drops.Well I agree with the concept whole heartedly. hostile day mobs in the form of animals. I don't agree with your excecution.
