Ehh, don't take me as greedy for replying to the version of this thread with the $$$ in the title, I looked at your other thread, and it's not nearly as detailed, anyway...
good news: I can see a lot of what needs to be done, just looking at it
bad news: a lot needs to be done
good news: there are people out there who could do this easily
bad news: I'm not one of them.
Note to whoever takes up this project: remember to tell the chaining arrows not to attack the player, well, the one who shot the arrow, at least.
LOL, just noticed as I was writing this, how old that question is...
anyway, if anyone else needs this, here it is, this should work correctly(didn't test it, but I'm 95% sure it's perfect)
anyway, for his example, this is it:
CraftingManager.getInstance().addRecipe(new ItemStack(yourItem), newObject[]
{
" AB", "CDE", " F ", "A", new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, 1, 15), "B", new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, 1, 5), "C", new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, 1, 4), "D", Item.redstone, "E" new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, 1, 11), "F", new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, 1, 1)
});
The general rule is
new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, quantity, metadata)
I'd leave quantity at one, because I don't know if minecraft can take two items from one slot for one recipe.
Metadata values are as follows:
0 = black (ink sac)
1 = red (rose red)
2 = green (cactus green)
3 = brown (cocoa beans)
4 = blue (lapis lazuli)
5 = purple (rose red + lapis lazuli)
6 = cyan (cactus green + lapis lazuli)
7 = light gray (bonemeal + gray dye) || (bonemeal + bonemeal + ink sac)
8 = gray (bonemeal + ink sac)
9 = pink (rose red + bonemeal)
10 = lime (cactus green + bonemeal)
11 = yellow (dandelion yellow)
12 = light blue (lapiz lazuli + bonemeal)
13 = magenta (purple dye + pink dye)
14 = orange (rose red + dandelion yellow)
15 = white (bonemeal)
Eh, I'll look in to it, I'm quite familiar with java, even though I haven't modded all that much
EDIT: ok, so, 3 bone shards is one bone piece, two bone pieces and a slime ball is one Broken bone, and a smelted broken bone is a regular bone, yeah?
(you kind of interchange some of the terms up there, just clarifying)
Ehh, a friend from the server I play on wanted something like this, so I've actually already put some thought in to it.
now, I'm no amazing programmer, but, I could just see what I could do(don't expect much from me, I can't even reprogram a compass right yet) in the mean-time, keep looking for people of higher skill levels than me. (or more people of my skill level, If you put enough monkeys on typewriters, they can write Shakespeare)
It shouldn't be too hard, would you want a new world type as in Default vs SuperFlat vs LargeBiomes vs Underworld? or as in like Overworld vs Nether vs End vs Underworld?
Have you ever dreamed of pitting Testificates against zombies? I have, and so, I made a
Testificate maze!
Ok, so, I really didn't dream about that, But I made one anyway.

It looks like so far it doesn't add, only alter.
EDIT: however, you never know, it seems as though OP wasn't precisely sure where he officially wants this to go either.
